In 1991 I remember searching for yards for my 69 Mach 1 , just a lot of walking until I found this old yard in Houston that resembled your days search here , found during that trip some Mach 1 high back seats in nearly perfect shape , it was sitting since the early eightys .
Thanks for taping this yard. I am a GM Man. It has been a long time since I have seen cars of this vintage. I was born in the early 60's and grew up seeing all of these models on the road. Even older. If I were there I would be having panic attacks trying to decide what to buy. Regards from Ody Slim
Love it!! What a cool video. Thank you for braving the rain and mosquitos to make it. I am sure after the rain, the mosquitos were even worse. They always are, for some reason... Thank you Benny, you are the best!!
All those olds and I only seen 1 or 2 1965 cutlass I believe. You didnt' stop and look at either but I am sure they were 65. Thanks for the great video. It must be awesome seeing all those classics.
My cousin had a 1982 caprice diesel, no kidding, he drove it for years between Virginia and new York iron working, wherever that car is, it's probably running, once or twice a year in the winter we would pull up and fill up the tank with kerosene and pull off freaking people out
I watched every minute of this video, thanks so much for wading through the weeds and mosquitos, I would love to have been there and been able to afford some of those beautiful olds, man , he loves them as much as me
I wish that there was a wrecking yard in my area. At one time there were 3 yards. Then the price of steel went up and everyone cashed in. No more yards. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
Not many Fords. The few Mustangs were rough. On a side note, he said back in the day he would get the highway patrol Mustangs. Still had a few but were pretty gone
Sheesh when saw those station wagons & Elcaminos in salvage yard my eyes got big quick where is this treasure yard located oh congrats on scoring 61 Parkwood wagon got any plans for ol grocery getter
Yes, the Studebaker Champ was the result of a very low budget update to their pickups. They hadn't been redesigned since 1949. The cab is a Lark sedan cut in half and the beds were leftover Dodge parts they bought, or maybe they bought the tooling for them, I forget. Even the name badge is cheap - they took leftover "Champion" badges and literally broke off the I-o-N to put on these. There was one yard up here that had a few but it's been cleaned out since then.
That t top 74 or 75 olds cutlass you looked at is a rare car I'm pretty sure its Hurst package olds judging by what badge shape used to be on the vinyl top
Oh my god these like 3 olds f85's in there my dad would kill to have his back Damm that place is a gold mine boy would I love I mean love pull some shit from there Damm old's everywhere wow..thats sad to see them things rotting away man..
Little bit of a different question: what would be your favorite underappreciated vehicle? For me, the Torino chassis cars. Torino, Montego, Cougar, LTD II, and especially the Thunderbird
Wow dude. How big a property is this? Wow that’s a lot of cars bro. I could identify a lot of em and there’s some I didn’t recognize. This is like hitting a gold mine dude. Only thing I’d be worried about in all this tall veggitation would be snakes. Be safe bro. Carry a snake bite kit.
Fun tour of an era gone by! Some of those classic beauties can be saved! Thanks for the great video and I enjoyed every weed-tangled, obstruction minute of it....I love your humor and speaking manner. Kinda like a cross between Matthew McConaughey and Cheech & Chong.....very relaxing! Even though you said you lost a few subs, I subbed ya and rang that 'bell' ...Take care bro! Cheers from British Columbia, Canada! :D
Thanks Benny, these are the kind of yards I remember going to when I was a kid. You took me back with this one. Any of those A-body GM cars have and salvageable bucket seats?
Looked like a Bronco II which I knew someone in high school who had one which he bought new. I think was a 1985 he had but forget what year Ford Motor Company made those.
I absolutely enjoyed the heck out of the tour man. I'm in need of a pair of doors for a 78-79 Olds Cutlass Salon or Buick Century 2 door aero back sedan. I have a 79 Turbo Coupe Century aero two door but my door bottoms are gone. Do you remember these ugly suckers? I love em though. They are the G body ugly step sisters. Lol
My uncle owned a towing business and junkyard, my brother and I would stay with them in the summer and ride the tow trucks. We’d spend all day digging through those old cars and trucks, and being in the mid to late 70’s there were some cool vehicles in there. We sold him our 67’ Mustang 289 4 speed coupe, that bummed me out but what do you do at 11 ? The guy that bought it wrapped it around a pole soon after, 🙄
@@ClassicRideSociety yep saw it , GM gold mine, I could spend all day there , especially on those 72 GP , you made my night thanks again , appreciate it
The wagon at the 47:10 mark is a 1972. It also has a big block in it which, if original, could either be a 402 or a 454. I would love to have the wagon.
Wow, I cant believe that an actual 442 with a 4 speed got junked. For some reason it seems like 90% of the "442s" you see are automatic for some reason and the ones with the factory manual trans seem to go for double what one with an auto will sell for.
Also if you know of any 73-77 chevelles I need a roof assembly for a 75 Laguna I saved car is from South Carolina underneath is immaculate but the roofs bad from probably being near the coast by the ocean air
On the Studebaker pick up. The cab IS a Studebaker CAB for a truck, not a car. The beds on the pick ups didn't line up. And the body styling was different .
A lot of Oldsmobiles in first few minutes - edit to whole vid 32:40 72 Chev 39:10 74-76 Impala had that back end 47:10 72 Chev wagon (clamshell 71-76 GM wagons) Owner could make a killing charging admission for self-guided tours
I just started video & I like so far. Thank you for sharing!
Hello Benny love watching your wonderful videos I am from South Africa
Well, there goes my evening plans. This has taken over. Thanks, brother!
Hope you enjoy it 👍
One of your best videos enjoyed it alot thanks for sharing
This is one of your best ever videos. Thanks Again!
Definitely one you won’t catch everything on the first watch
That '67 442 factory 4 speed is worth some bucks as is.
Just because it's a 442 doesn't mean it's a 4 speeds. The 442 origin is 400cid, 4 barrels, dual exhaust.
In 1991 I remember searching for yards for my 69 Mach 1 , just a lot of walking until I found this old yard in Houston that resembled your days search here , found during that trip some Mach 1 high back seats in nearly perfect shape , it was sitting since the early eightys .

Just sat there ready for the taking

Unfortunately that place doesn't exist anymore. The owner retired, brought in a crusher and had the property cleared out.

I may have to save a few of them OLDS. I was thinking a Vista Cruiser and that Omega
@@ClassicRideSociety Before The Party of RATS that STOLE 2020 from President Trump, makes the owner crushes them. CREEPY and HEELS UP HARRIS!!

Awesome vid man. Lotsa fun. Keep em comin. I think I’ll subscribe.
bummer, all those classics and not A SINGLE 59 CADILLAC! been looking for parts for a hot minute now, no junkyard seems to ever have those haha
I wouldn't mind having that 1966 olds f85 four door hard top at 7:47.

1984 to 1990, then the Explorer replaced it in 1991.
Lots of cool stuff!
Those Studebaker Champ trucks are wild!

Can you get me in touch?
At around 30:40, the Pontiac Lemans wagon, I could use some parts off of that. Could you put me in touch with this yard? Thank you!
I asked about it as well the day prior. he said was sold

really cool cars , where is located?
that F85 was actually a 1967 Cutlass. its sisters were the GTO and Lemans of that year. priceless. I correct myself, there were many in there.
Could you pull the rear window trim of the gbody wag and the license panel
