The forest green GTO is a 1968. You can tell by the vent windows. Those were eliminated in the 1969 model year-GTO, LeMans, Chevelle, all the GM mid size cars.
At 9:26 my heart almost stopped. You walked behind a '66 Pontiac STARCHIEF Executive 4 door hardtop. I had a Matinique Bronz one with a Gold interior and a Black Vinyl top. Damn, I could cry.
LOVE junkyard tours - thanks for taking us along! It breaks my heart to see that LeSabre convertible out in the weather with a shredded top. And WHY did they start to part out the Cutlass convertible? They shudda left it complete. I know, I know - $$$.
I made it a point of knowing my year cars growing up. We use to have a buick 1960 convertible le sabre. My dad would ask me what car was what as we pass each one by and I would get everyone right. I was o only 9 then. Loved my cars!!
My 64 El Camino had tow bars on it and it was never a race car my dad picked it up on his way from California to Massachusetts in Arizona and he put the tow bars on it and he pulled it with a 67 Camaro from Arizona
That white Pontiac bubbletop was a 1961. The bubbletop roof was a 1961 only for Pontiac, 1962’s went to the standard 1962 impala roof. I would absolutely love to have one to put next to my 62 bel air bubbletop. Such cool cars with lots of character.
Awesome videos. Love seeing the old cars. Reminds me of days gone past. Love seeing you save what you can. I recently picked up a 60 Pontiac Catalina 2dr hardtop. Being so close to the Impala, I’m surprised you don’t see more of them. They made 27K of them so there should be some around. I really wanted the Impala, though it was just a little out of my price range. The Pontiac was the next best thing. Take care.
Those 2 door wagons are super super rare. Only made in 64 and 65 only a little over 1600 made - mostly 6's - and only 650 some odd with the V8 option. Plain jane cars for business purposes mainly.
5:21 Correct, 71 or 72 Chevelle. Front park lights differentiate; 71 park light has horiz trim split, 72 is solid lens. 6:40 Equipped w/ Flintstone trunk pan 9:33 72 Monte Carlo 12:20 62 Ford
The trim on the back of the '64 Impala SS is called "Engine Turned" Aluminum Trim. The term "Engine Turned" refers to the design that is on the Aluminum which came out in the 1920's on the dashes, firewalls and engines of cars back then. It is a very old design that is put into the metal. Tony K. :o)
I may have a couple of cars you might be interested in. 1966 Impala wagon ( very solid body) , has motor and trans but not running and I have 2 1963 2door sedans. 1 Bel-Aire and 1 Biscayne. both are V8, 4speed cars. Bodies are pretty good Many new parts.
Yes I agree I got allot of parts at vans but they were so rotted when I use to live in wisc the new owner crushed all them cars what a waste I was so pissed off he didn't know what he had
Wow, that was a sweet salvage yard. Haven't seen one like that, around my area (Boston) since the 80's. Sure brought back lots of fond memories. The 1st car that you thought was a 71-72 GTO. Was actually a Verdero green 68 GTO. which was my very 1st car, same color and all. Tech tip...68 and 69 are very similar looking, especially from the side, but 68's had the vent windows and 69 did not. Liked the 69 Cutlass and really liked the 68 Cutlass convertible at the end, as I have owned (5) 1968 Olds 442's and (1) 1967 442. Thanks for the video
That one 64 impala was a. SS car looked like all kinds of Chevlles IV not saw a junk yard like that in a long time when you are recording do a close up of some of the dashboards
That olds cutlass was nice, the one in red . It's cool to see these cars as here in the UK the cars from this era were crap lol I'm hoping to get something from over there at some point in the next couple of years.. even a 70's elderado would be cool but fuel here is £1.40 per litre so it'll just be a weekend car hahahaaaa
Good video,dude-for a younger guy,you know your classics.Maybe you were joking ,but it"s easy to get caught up in restoring some of these. Most of these IMOP, are parts cars.Unless your very, very handy. And at 61,like "Al Pacino" said in "Scent of a Woman"-"I"ve been around".Generally speaking.you"ll sink far more dough in them than their worth.Age & experience teaches, hard lessons.Looking forward to your future vids!
The Catalina is a 61. You were correct. It's a shame the hood corner is screwed up on that 59 Chevy. What does the Yellow X mean on the windshield. Was this destined for crushing or does the X mean it's sold . That 59 despite the trunk is a good candidate for a restoration.
The green GTO was a 1968, You should buy the 1962 stripped Belair shell with the solid floors! You can find them with good doors and front clip, It's always the body shell that rusts the worst! And the Chevelle is a 71/72 the 70 has double rectangular lights , Wildcat is a 68! I saw a rare car there, A blue 1972 Pontiac Luxury Lemans, The shell was in one spot and the front clip was in another! You nailed it on the Cutlass' the hardtop was a 69 and the convertible was a 68! Pontiacs and GTO'S are my favorites so the 68 GTO and the 72 Luxury Lemans got my blood pumping and then my second favorite cars are the Olds 442 and Cutlass so the 69 hardtop and 68 Cutlass convertible took it from there for me! I already have two GTO convertibles and a nice 71 Cutlass plus so many other cars that if I live to be 150 years old I won't get them all done! But I'm always looking at more!
Great Job on calling the body styles by their correct factory name. So many guys call the two door sedans two door posts. Posts are for stringing fence wire on and cows to rub up against. Pillars not Posts.
To claim you are not well versed in years you really are. Yes some years were one offs, but others were 2 years and could be swapped to either year with front and back parts mods. This is a cool yard to wander..
My neighbor when I was in high school had 63 impala ss with a 64 front. Body lines were the same. Trim on different lines. Took trim off welded holes shut. Painted John Deere green with silver flake in it. Original 300hp 327 4 speed . People would look at it and scratch there heads.
Save Old Cars and Trucks for the next generation of kids to see. I was born in 1963, 50's and '60's cars were Not old cars then now they are old cars, '70's and '80's cars are Now old cars

What an absolute gold mine, I am envious Love the Chevelle 2 door wagons
Thanks for watching
What about the red square body truck walked away from
It's good to see places like this still exist. Hopefully most of these cars will find a new home!
I agree
Those 65 2dr Malibu/Chevelle wagons are bad ass ! I had a model of those when i was a kid in the 80s! Amazing yard
Thanks for watching
The Cutless convertible certainly worthy of a restoration. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your visit to this junkyard.
Got a few more videos here coming soon
Man.. a lot of builders. Doors and fender s are easy to find. Need body's like these.
It’s always going to be a great day when you start off with a Tri-Five Chevy ‘56 Bel Air!! ❤️
Exactly
@@IowaClassicCars I would have been hauling that car home! Love the Tri-Fives!
best way to end w/68 olds, i had one of these, 350 rocket, loved it

That Buick Wild Cat 2 door is sure something that should be saved ; that would be a beauty to cruise after a complete restoration.
Thank you for this video. It would be better than going to a car show. I could spend all day here. 👍😎
Any time!

I liked that Dodge A100 in the background at around 4:10 or so. It was in the background behind the 4 door 65 Chevelle.
Great stuff Ryan, love these old American cars.
thanks Will
Nice classic yard a lot of good projects their.
Agreed
At 9:26 my heart almost stopped. You walked behind a '66 Pontiac STARCHIEF Executive 4 door hardtop. I had a Matinique Bronz one with a Gold interior and a Black Vinyl top. Damn, I could cry.
Oooh nice
A lot of car's in that yard worth saving ! 61 flattop, 64 SS, so many Chevelles! Definitely the 69 & 68 convertible Cutlass
Green olds convertible is a 68......LOVE IT!!

Yes gold mine for sure. I really love that 1956 Chev in the beginning of this video
That '61 2 door Impala is neat.
Those 2 door Chevelle "Nomads" need to be saved, they are very rare, only1,168 were produced, a lot of them wound up as gassers......
Didnt know they were that rare!
Coral Gables 🌴🇺🇸 Would DEFINITELY be interested in Chevel 2 door wag goon 👌🏄
A look back in time. Soon some of these relics will be long forgotten.
Yup
Those 2dr wagons are super rare can't believe there's 2 of them.
I was thinking the same thing I dont think I ever saw a 64 65 Chevelle wagon saw all kinds of 66 67 Chevelles looked like a great yard to me
I'm Mopar blooded but 64-5 chevelles are beautiful those 2 door wagons need to be restored
I knew they had to be rare
@@IowaClassicCars you buying those 2 or leaving them for somebody else?
@@Marker1989 leaving them, guy wants a good price for them and i dont think i can do anything with them

That custom cab pickup🤩

Third car Pontiac is a 68 you're correct about the 71 into Chevelle Cutlass convertible is a 68
1;oo 68 gto last year of the no-draft windows all 68 pontiacs had arrow head side marker lights on rear quarter
Love it!,and appreciate your honesty.
I would like to see some of your projects. I’m a Chevy man too.
All the cars you’ve shown in this video can be brought back to life with enough time and money!!!!
Absolutely
That’s a Vedoro Green 68 GTO ...and I want it! Where is this place?!
The piece on the impala is the same finish you'd find on a 58 Ford side trim . It's ANODIZED trim. 57 Chevies had it on there side trim.
@Randall Johnson Thank u.
that ford f100 pick up at 11;22 in the video is a 66..and well worth saving....and the country squire is a 62
It's unibody
FYI... you will find the date for the older cars on the tail lights or the Park lights. They were class until the 1940s. Check them out for the dates.
Very interesting!
that 68 and 69 cutlass looks great
Lots of great cars there
I had a 64 Implala SS. Never gave the Biscayne much of a thought, but they seem to be just as nice as the Implala, just missing 2 taillights is all.
Yup exactly
I have a 348 motor that would fit right in that blue Impala
The 61 Chevy might have been a picture car where the actors are inside while being towed pretty complete to have been a drag car
Ooooh i like that idea!
I would be tempted to buy half of them what a treasure
Haha same
Brown 79 pick up.......... First year for square head lites. 👌
Oooh didnt know that!
