A lot of people live with their parents, not because they are “lazy but due to cultural and religious reasons and also to care for the parents. I don’t think there is anything wrong with living with your parents. Many people are still independent and pay for rent, shopping, bills etc
I'm African and I'm aware some cultures do this and I respect that. For me, I told my parents when I'll get married, we're at least sure going to live in the same city. But I want my privacy. Especially in the first stage of being a newlywed. Everything is new, beautiful, hot and sexy and I don't need my parents to know this side of my business like that see what I mean? Also I grew up in Canada so plays a huge part of how I see the whole thing
I love this show but sometimes I don’t like how they talk about people who don’t have a lot of money. Sometimes you get down on your luck and you shouldn’t be punished for that
I wont mind if my man was living with his mom because he is trying to save his money to buy his own house or whatever but I think there is difference between the men I just described vs men who live at home because they're lazy.
I feel like there’s a sense of assurance and comfortability when living with the parents.... but here’s the thing , parents won’t always be here... so sometimes even though it might seem kind of weird for someone to be living with their mom , sometimes these people want to spend as much time as they can with their mom before that time comes ( especially if one parent passed like in his case ) so I think we need to be sensitive as to why they are doing it... and not be so judge mental
Also the world is expensive and the economy is not on a positive. Different people have different circumstances. Some people may have certain responsibilities where they need to live at home. Not everything is so cut and dry like they’re claiming. In a perfect world, of course we all want to be out on our own but that just isn’t reality,

@@bvtsj you probably wouldn't tell someone with cancer or a physical condition to get over it. This just shows your lack of education and empathy. I hope you never have to go through a mental disorder of any kind, because 1 out of 4 of us has one. Also, whether or not you may develop one later in life also depends on a variety of factors. I pray you don't have to experience the pain of that, but sometimes people need to go through adversity to have some empathy and understanding.
My brother is 31 and I’m 28 and we both still live at home but we have our own space like they said but I hate how they made me feel bad about it like he and I can’t date bc we can’t afford it? There are plenty of free and cheap things to do while your figuring it out. We also are helping with my grandmother who is dying. As long as you have goals and plans it shouldn’t matter. Idk I don’t like how they were like “a man can’t live at home” idk that really upsets me.
Don’t feel bad. Different people have different situations and different circumstances. These women are just speaking from a place of “society says a man has to be this....” it’s a bit ignorant but I get it. I am about to be 23 and I’m in university. People keep bugging me about living on campus in a dorm when I live 5 minutes away with my mom. I keep explaining that it doesn’t make sense to pay an arm and a leg for room and board @ school when I live down the hill. I still get judgmental looks like I’m not making perfectly good sense. 😩 One, that money can be better kept for the future and two, I’d be filling a space that might be better for somebody who actually needs it. 🤷🏽♀️
I still find it kinda confusing when people look down on others for living with your parents after a certain age. In most Caribbean households, you're not expected to move out until you get married, have a kid and need your own space or when you move to a different country. Most Caribbean parents get offended when you wanna move out early. My Mom sure did😅
I'm confused to why once Jeanie said the house was a few million dollars everyone thought it was fine. There's such a negative stereotype associated with men living at home. In interdependent cultures that's normal to have your parents move in when you're older so you can take care of them and be together as a family. In Hispanic familes, that's typically what happens & I love that.
In the Philippines there is little no stigma . For example, my tito(uncle) lives with my grandparents and you know what he is an architect and he is fine as a person and a responsible adult. The stigma of anyone living with their parents in the US, is like oh he is not responsible and things like that(which in some cases are true) but what if he lives with them but is financially stable , has a job and is personally mature? P.S. sorry I sound like I am ranting I just feel like I really want to share my opinions.
I completely understand this. For most cultures and some religious practices; looking after the parents is a beautiful practice and hence many people do have parents living with them. They're independent, both financially and mentally and yet want to look after their parents. It's OKAY. Just because something is different from your lifestyle, doesn't make it wrong.
@@rawr4230 Yes thank you for not getting angry . One of the things that surpirsed me before about american culture is that the kids have to find a place when you reach 18 . I know some don t have a choice, but for those whose parents who are ok ..... Well let us just say if I hav to choose between pating rent for a not so nice apartment (while still finding a job ) and having to find a job without the added stress of trying to pay my rent.
I do agree that there’s nothing wrong with living at home or being independent. The stigma is tacky! I’m 26 and still live at home 🏡 I pay for rent, I pay for groceries (the good kind😂), I pay bills at home, I pay my moms cellphone bill and I take care of all of me. My mom was a single mom, me helping her out in anything I can is my pleasure. I hope I can buy her a house soon 🙏🏽
@@Mydear___ Good for you! Personally, as an Asian woman, I would never marry a man that DIDN'T live with and take care of his parents. I don't get American culture AT ALL in this. You abandon the people that sacrificed everything to raise you and now when you're on your feet you're just going to look after yourself?? That's hella selfish, in my opinion. I started taking care of my parents from the day I made my first paycheck. Everything I have ever gained in life is because of them, no way would I ever abandon them in their time of need just to look "cool" that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Queen F no they did this last season during season 4 around Christmas time... they’ll be back on September 16th but we as well as them won’t know if they’ll be renewed until around January...
I would trade anything in the world to live with my mother. Unfortunately, my mom pass away a couple years ago. I moved out about a 1-1/2 year before she died because they were remodeling our house and we needed a place to stay. In my mind, I just thought I moved out and she can stay with us at our new place until they finish the house. But since I moved out, they have extended to fix the house over a year. "Uncle" doesn't mean its a code word that she is dating him. Asian called people by uncle, aunt, niece, nephew to show respect because we are not allow to call by their name. Its kinda rude to ask them their name unless they tell you. In Jeannie case, if you see him often with her, yes they dating.
No offense, but never in my life would I have ever thought that I'd hear Pete Davidson being called "one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors." I know he's rich and famous, and I guess that's all that technically counts for something like that, but the boy has problems and looks high all the time. I know that's legal where he lives. I don't care, I think it's gross.
My uncle has lived with his mama for damn near his whole life , we as a family can count on maybe 2 hands the amount of times he's lived without her around. He's in his fifties. And, guess what. I ain't never met a bigger ladies man than him. So, eh.
well see the thing is, i see where jeannie is coming from because i'm asian. so in asian culture or chinese culture, when your parents introduce you to their friends you're supposed to call them uncle out of respect because they're older than you. but they not actually your uncle.
Tamera and Adrienne constantly use the term “ocd” very wrong, it’s very annoying. Y’all are clean freaks not suffering from OCD. Goes to show money doesn’t always buy intelligence
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being protective of your mother. Check YOURSELVES. Tamera can be protective of her mama if she wants

Clara Schaffer that’s loni only ,, she loves money ,,,because she was really poor before
asma al so was Jeannie and she doesn’t talk like that, she usually speaks up against that mindset.
I'm not gonna punish penniless men. I'm just not gon' date them
Did anyone notice Tam giggle at 0.46 when she said 'live below your mom'
Adrienne's hair is giving me life 🙌
“she had you, you didn’t have her, check yourself” 💀
Tamera and Jeannie are really nice people.
Tamera’s little braid with the pins is so cute!! 😍😍
I also think it depends on whether or not he’s living with his momma or his momma is living with him.... cuz yes there is a difference 😂

Please do not make fun of OCD and do not use it when that isn’t the right way to express something.
Oh shut up...im offended that your offended.
Kristina Kristina why are you offended? I just think that there are other ways of explaining some things (with the right words).
True, we shouldn't use disorders to describe everyday tasks or personality traits. If anything OCPD would fit more than OCD!
