haha - i did think the same thing but they probably didn't realise its such a cheap place... i must say though, £1:35 for a refillable coffee is amazing ! x
That was not traditional fish and chips! That was frozen breaded fish from a box like they sell in the frozen food section at a supermarket. They look gross!
That's the third London Bridge. The first one was medieval, and was very large and covered with shops, whose rents paid for its construction and maintenance. Eventually it became such a financial burden and nightmare to maintain that it was torn down and replaced by a Victorian bridge. That bridge outlived its useful life with massive growth of vehicle traffic, and it was auctioned off and was shipped stone by stone to Lake Havasu, Arizona, where it stands today. (I visited it last August!) The ugly one is the modern bridge built in the 1960s. (This is off the top of my head so some details may be wrong.)
Chris Nelson I think your correct. I also visit the London Bridge in Lake Havazu, Arizona. We were there for annual Christmas Boat Parade. It was pretty cool.
Thank Goodness you were here to say this. I'm trying not to be that person but I'm sitting here getting mad at Kara and Nate for not googling further. Oh well.
same for northern USians lol I’m from NY and it’s so funny when my family from the south comes to visit. they’re in winter coats in 50 degree weather and I’m in shorts😂
Going to weatherspoons isn't your typical pub as it's a chain! food and drinks for affordable prices! Love watching your daily vlogs, they keep me going on my lunch breaks!
The nursery rhyme about London bridge talks about the old London bridge. It once had shops on it was considered a beautiful and trendy place. But, with age the bridge started to fall apart. Hence the nursery rhyme.
Can you guys please come back to London next year sometime and I’ll take you to real pubs / restaurants / places to see. London has so much more to offer than this video did it justice for and these days you guys wouldn’t make the same mistakes 😁
I have just started watching your vlogs and they are amazing. They got me through lockdown so thank you. Every morning I run along that riverside and it is always cold. Top tip is to dress as if you are going into the Arctic
Oh you guys!!! I know this was a while ago but I love that you were here. This warms my heart. I would have loved to give you a proper British experience haha pubs, fish and chips, more pubs, more pubs....
Hopefully in your more recent vlogs you guys will return to London and give it the kudos it deserves. A chippy is a must! A proper curry and a good sausage roll 🥰
Harry Sinclair All people have different opinions. They might think it is okay? I can’t say anything about it because i’m not of the legal age to drink yet. I’m 8 years young.
My husband and I love watching your videos. Funny...I thought you made London sound like a wonderful place to visit. I did not get the idea that you were trying to give an in-depth analysis of the United Kingdom, or even London. You kept emphasizing that you went for the conference. We especially enjoyed the views of London at night. Thanks!
As a british person I'll run through a few things for anyone watching who is thinking about visiting the UK 1) Yes it's cold and wet there at that time, because it's winter, hence the Christmas tree, things get cold in winter 2) You don't get fish and chips in a pub, you get them in a chippy, where you'd get way more chips, nice batter on the fish, it would be proper fresh fish and bigger than that 3) If you want to try a british accent amongst yourselves then go for it but don't try it in front of british people 4) The park with the ducks and squirrels was pretty standard, most parks have them enjoying their best lives 5) No one walks for an hour to visit somewhere, that's what public transport is for 6) Yeah you seat yourselves in a pub, maybe not in a gastropub
I love the way Nate says Bucking-ham and OMG yes, that accent Kara, spot on again haha! I look forward to it every vlog and you couldn't not do it in London!
In the North "tea time" is said instead of "dinner time" there's none of the liquid version involved (unless you drink tea) I'm a coffee drinker myself too and I only know two people that prefer tea over coffee. Oh and the unicorns are a symbol of Scotland.
Wetherspoons fish and chips aren’t good, Wetherspoons is the budget meal when you’re just finding change in your pocket.. the fish and chip shops off the beaten track are the ones to eat
Looking at these old comments...you can't please everyone. Enjoy your travels. See what you want to see, do what you want to do and tell us what you're thinking,. If people don't like it, then they can travel themselves and have their own experience. I love your videos. They are inspiring!
Must admit going around London in the rain isn't the best and hope you give it another try when the weather is better. . June to September, it can still rain but it will be warmer. The fish and chips you had were not the best, you should of gone to a proper fish and chip shop . . alot more traditional.
Hi K&N. I'm kind of upset you managed to portray London as thoroughly miserable! (I accept the weather was). Usually your enthusiasm and inquisitiveness is infectious, but I didn't see any of that here. You seemed to mope around the generic tourist attractions, rather than scratching underneath the surface, just a little. E.g. you ate fish & chips in the largest (famously crap for food) chain pub in the United Kingdom. You could've attended one of many fantastic food markets in London - Borough, Spitalfields, Camden, to name but a few. There are endless cool things to do in the capital... Shoreditch, Camden, walking the Southbank, exploring Soho and the West End, Notting Hill and the famous Portobello Road market or wrap up warm and explore the parks or some of the multiple diverse, characferful neighbourhoods. As Samuel Johnson famously said - "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life". Please try London again and do it justice!
Guys you need to man-up. It's not really cold yet. Come back in February when you have to wade through the slushy snow. Also, I warned you not to have 'tourist' fish & chips and you end up in a pub having frozen fish and oven chips. You probably paid much too much as well. You should ask your Airbnb hostess where the nearest good chippy is and get some proper cod, fried in beer batter with proper chips (not skinny fries or oven chips) and then put plenty of salt n vinegar on. Brits reading this will concur that, strangely, fish & chips is the only meal you can enjoy with a cup of tea :) Ref the question below re the old (not the original) London bridge. A Yank bought it and had it dismantled and transported to Texas thinking he had bought Tower Bridge. Can't blame ebay for that !! If you can, see if you have time to visit a street market this weekend. Plenty of 'old London' still out there if you can avoid the tourist magnets.
The London Bridge has been rebuilt several times (there's been a bridge there since the time London was a Roman colony). The 19th century London Bridge was sold and reconstructed in Arizona. The "old" London Bridge, and probably the most famous version of it, was the medieval bridge that stood for over 600 years. That was demolished though. The current version is the one in this video, and it was built in the 1970s.
Our first day in London, we were assisted by someone doing something for us. Asked us something. We said, "Yes". "From the US are we?" 😄Charming gentleman. Elsewhere, later on, we had less luck with the common language than we had expected.....
Anyone should give themselves a chance by only visiting London between May and September, it's hard work in winter, but really does come alive on those 10 to 15 nice days we have per year.
The real story behind London Bridge is falling down is London Bridge was originally made out of wood, so when the great fire of London came around, if got burnt down so we had to re-build it! Experience from a British girl here! :D Btw love your videos, keep travelling! ❤️❤️❤️

Believe me you get used to the weather, but in the 18 years I’ve been alive I still love London! And there’s still so many parts of it I’m yet to explore! I love you guys so much! Xx
Those fish and chips look awful 🤣 You guys need to come back to the UK and visit places outside of London. Head to the North and get a really chippy tea
I know I’m like 4 years late but fully obsessed with these videos, I’m from london and I can’t help but laugh at your comment on the bridge😂 America brought it thinking it was tower bridge aswell haha its so ugly but London is so cold it’s just normal to us haha
We just got back from London so that was pretty cool to watch ☺️ you guys where totally right about buckingham palace haha. (Btw, England is spelled wrong in your intro.. just to let you know)
Next time get a 1, 2 or 3 day pass for all public travel, it’s unbelievably economical. The open-top hop on hop off bus is really worth the money too particularly if you’re on a whistle stop break.
English “chip shop fish and chips” are the best. These tend to be too fancy in big cities like London but if you go to more residential areas you’ll always be able to find a chip ship on the corner of the street. These are real British fish and chips (and sooo much cheaper!). You went to a Wetherspoons which is the cheapest pub chain so it is very common with students and the food quality isn’t the best! I hope you can try proper fish and chips one day (I like my chips with cheese on) 😍
Awwwww...London....fish and chips, Manchester United, the Plays.....and its all TO FREAKING EXPENSIVE....love the vid guys....and gals. keep them coming....also...was it as cold as the Everest trek?
The thing to bear in mind is that London isn’t really representative of England - you should try travelling out to the countryside next time and visiting some of our beautiful historic towns and villages
oh my gosh they should definitely come back, but get the proper experience! there's so much to see, not just London! The Scottish Highlands, Cornwall, Wales, proper fish and chips. there is so many more places to go. And, our weather is horrible, but i suppose we are used to it. come back!
THE London Bridge, the one that's falling down was replaced in 1831. It had stood for 600 years, so not surprising it was falling down. The present bridge is the second since then. Coffee is British. Coffee shops of the 1700s were meeting places which began many great institutions.

Glad you enjoyed your fish 'n' chips but next time you must get them from a chip shop by the sea in the paper its is the BEST!!! I'm from the UK in NZ and its not the same....i miss it so OH and Kara your British accent is spot on haha
You guys should try and get to Windsor and see the castle and changing of the guards which happens everyday at 1045am. . Not far from London, you can just jump on a train from Waterloo and you will arrive at Windsor & Eton Riverside station.
I hope you guys had a good time in London! My wife and I just went this summer! Was also going to see if you have looked into the Chase Sapphire Reserve card yet!?
Hey guys, it looks like you had a miserable time coming to London. I am a lawyer, and if you happen to visit again then I would be more than happy to show you guys around. London is beautiful and has many beautiful and weird places to visit!

Just watched your Athens vlogs. If you had gone to the British Museum in London you could have seen the impressive sculptures that formed the ‘frieze’ of the Parthenon. I’m in the UK, so it’s great to be able to view them. However, your vlog did make me reconsider if restoring then to the Parthenon would be the better option.
As usual, just London. England is more than London, with beautiful countryside, super regional food, friendly people. If you visit again come to the North of England (not Scotland) and have the best Fish and chips in the country, also the best beer!!!!
oh no fish and chips in a whetherspoons, thats just boxed freezer food warmed up! If you ever come back to London I'll be happy to show you a true london experience!!
I think its a common misconception that you eat fish and chips in a pub because you actually get them from a specific fish and chip shop :)
Yeh, I've only really ever got them from chippys
Food from a pub is usually crisps, salted peanuts or pork scratchings. If you're really lucky maybe a pie
Yeah, Weatherspoons is great but not for fish and chips
Yeah, never even seen fish and chips on a pub menu before...
Also what they ate wasn't proper chippy fish and chips.
You need to try proper fish and chips from a chippy. It's very different to the one you had
A proper chippy by the seaside are where you get the best fish and chips.
Bruh you went to a Wetherspoons for traditional English food 😂😂
adrenalinejamie literally the worst place they could have picked 😂😂
I know! And in the last video they only had international food!!
I can't think of anything more traditional!!

They don’t know what a chippy issss 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
Oh Im so sorry for the 'fish n chips'. That wasn't what it claimed to be - straight out of a freezer bag and into the microwave Im afraid. x
I love how Kara and Nate went to a Weatherspoons for their pub experience 😅 Love from the UK 🇬🇧 x

I'm from England and we deal with the cold weather all the time.
Best Fish n chips are "up north" east coast of UK like Whitby.
Rai Karklins Keep going - you'll get the best fish and chips in the north east of Scotland!
Scarborough!
Skipton do good fish sand chips
Yess I go there all of the time they are the best x
@@matthewparrott8369 Where in Skipton? I live in Harrogate.
Hahaha ! Watching one of your older videos.... I'm two hours drive from London and you have summed the place up perfectly ! Its freezing ! x
I've never wanted to go to London...but this looks wonderful.
5:17 no coffee or tea get a pint in your hands
Love your old videos hehe
As usual, just London. England is more than London, with beautiful countryside, super regional food, friendly people. If you visit again come to the North of England (not Scotland) and have the best Fish and chips in the country, also the best beer!!!!
I live in London and I’m using this to have a look a it as I can’t right now lol
We went inside the place during it’s summer opening in 2016 and it was AMAZING!!!
oh no fish and chips in a whetherspoons, thats just boxed freezer food warmed up! If you ever come back to London I'll be happy to show you a true london experience!!
The fact they went to spoons for fish and chips and that it looks like THAT really doesnt give a good impression of good fish and chips 😂
You definately handle the cold weather better now.....
Wonderful video. I want to see that museum.
