Remember the refuse guys whistlin this tune when clearin our street, such a happy singalong song gotta luv it, Marcs guitar work is slightly hidden but can be heard in other versions to greater effect.
"Ride a White Swan was when Tyrannosaurus Rex's folksie/hippy leanings became somewhat rocky and electrified. Great song. Neat of you to do this song. Whatever you do, don't ever try to figure out Bolan's lyrics -- you'll waste the rest of your life! Just enjoy the music and the crazy wordplay.
Hot Love was T. Rex's first UK #1 Hit. The hit single before this is called - Ride a White Swan and it SHOULD have been the first #1 for T. Rex, but it was kept off the #1 spot by a Christmas novelty song called- Grandad..Hot Love occupied the #1 spot for an amazing 6 weeks in the UK.
T. Rex was considered Glam Rock, but the had some real soul in their music. Lead Singer and Guitarist Mark Bolan was an iconic and engaging presence on stage. Unfortunately, he was involved in a violent car crash and did not survive. Luckily, we have all their recordings to look back on. RIP Mark Bolan.
Oh dear! We are hitting the "Teeny Bopper" music! When Tyrannosaurus Rex (Mac Bolan and Steve Peregrin Took) first appeared on the scene in the late 1960's, they were something completely different to what many of us had heard before. Their music was difficult to describe (apart from maybe 'weird' 😁), but it seemed to fit into the latter part of the hippy culture at that time. I bought (and still own 2 of their early albums). However, in the early 70's they changed their name and became the Teeny Bopper/Pop/Glam Rock band that we see here. I can remember all the little girls at school swooning over Marc Bolan and I seem to remember that he even had a mini TV series. I think that their first hit song was called Ride A White Swan (I could be wrong here), nevertheless my friends and I were totally disgusted and considered them to have 'sold out' to the Pop Music side. Marc Boland in particular was a talented musician and not too bad a guitarist either. Listening to this music now (50 odd years later), it is not as bad as I thought it was then. However, I still can't get the 'strutting around, pouting lips and screaming little girls' out of my mind when I hear these songs. I'll finish by saying my usual....'each to his own.' Cheers and stay safe everyone. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
@@royferguson2297 Oh dear...I made a typo and missed a letter out...must be the crime of the century! Tyrannosaurus Rex were good and original. T Rex were crap! My opinion and I'm sticking to it! If you liked Glam Rock, then more power to your elbow. I didn't and still don't! 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦

Try spelling his name right, Tyranna was good but T.Rex was better.
