Between Warholm's insane WR and this amazing performance, Norway probably brought home two of the most impressive victories in recent Olympic history. Great job 👏

I think Ingebrigsten knew that Cheruiyot won't let him lead thus he went in front and forced Cheruiyot pass him and take the lead and then happily sat on his tail and patiently waited for home stretch kick. What a pro.
Cheruiyot was obviously not 100%…but still, a great performance by the young knight.

Actually, they both said that they'd agreed to go out fast and make it a honest race. Ingebrigtsen leading and Timothy taking over was part of their plan. Jakob just happened to have a little more, even if Timothy was injured.
You all brought tears to my eyes! This is what athletics and the Olympics is all about. Thrilled for Norway in North Carolina
Insane they pulled this off and Warholm's performance when they're smaller than just we are. Time to make sweet tea and Cook Out illegal in the South :)

Most og this people aren’t strangers. They Are from the same place as Jakob so some og them Are great friends and family. Some knows him aswell
This clip is from Sandnes stadium, the town were Jakob is from. We are not really that many people here, internationally speaking :P about 80k people. Most people know them, or know someone who knows them. I myself trained Filip and Henrik in football when they were kids (Filip was a beast at juggling the ball), so it's not a big stretch to think that many people here knows them.

I looked it up. Before Jakob's victory in Tokyo Norway had never won a medal of any color, gold,silver or bronze in the men's 1500 meters in the Olympics before going all the way back to the first modern Olympics in 1896. Norway's neighbour's Sweden and Finland had won gold medals before but Norway nothing. No wonder the crowd was so happy and excited.
I felt the excitement of the home crowd. How wonderful!

Great video. Having watched Olympic track and field for fifty years, this and Warholm's run are some of the best performances, I've ever seen. I'm an Australian but don't care about that - its just amazing to see athletes perform like this. I think there are numerous events that are more impressive than the 100M events, to my mind.
Australian runners also very talented, you'll do better next time.
Herb Elliot's win in the WR, in 1960 is one of the all time best performaces.
Well done Jakob. This was such an insanely stacked race of talent, that whoever won really did something special.

Here in Toronto Canada I woke up early to catch Jacob's 1500. It was shown live. I've been following Jacob for just over a year. Very exciting to see him progressing, undoubtedly to become an all time great. Congratulations to Jacob and Norway !!! I look forward with great anticipation as his hard work and talent develops. This was the most competitive field out of any track and field event BY FAR! 6 people under the previous OR?! He ran an absolutely phenomenal race! So happy to see this young man do what we knew he could! Congratulations from the U.S.!!

I've been running and/or watching track and field for over 35 years, and Jakob is the best middle distance runner I've ever seen.
Congratulations from the lake country of rural Western New York! A great performance and a wonderful victory.
P.S. My ancient ancestors were Scandinavian but only prior to A.D. 1000 (after which they settled in NE Britain, then on to N. America in the 1600s), so I don't think I can share too much credit for Jakob's achievement. :-)

I knew he was powerful , but for some reason he always failed to deal with the Africans in the big stage , and Today was the biggest stage of them all and he shocked the world in a superb fashion . and he is still so young, Karsten and Jakob paralyzed the entire nation of Norway
