They sounded great here! When funk meets extraterrestrial life.😁What a unique and talented band; from the vocals, guitarists, keyboards, and drummer. All these original members?👍👏
To this day, I do not understand why The Fixx is not selling out huge arenas like other bands from the 80s such as Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, the Cure, and Tears for Fears. This group is every bit as good and one can argue even better. I can listen to Cy and the boys every effing day and not be bored. Great lyrics, great energy, great style, and great musicianship. I simply love this band to death and all of them are great to their fans -- although Jaime can be either standoffish or just shy. Rock on boys,. Btw, get well Rupert. Hope you recover from your accident soon. I'm looking forward to seeing them again soon. I think I've seen The Fixx more than any other band - about a dozen times.
So love the simplicity of Adam Woods' drum kit. On their opening song (and what a great opener!) 'Deeper & Deeper' the sound of the snare is sharp as a razor blade and meaty enough to provide some kick arse; result? Perfection. The Fixx is one of London's most under rated acts born in the '80s. Sure while New Order and The Cure were top of the pops, The Fixx were meanwhile quietly ticking along under the radar of the more commercially attractive bands. And you know what - that is what somehow defines The Fixx in a sense...because so often it is the bands that aren't so 'commercially marketable' that are so so good and in fact on more than one occasion are better than the $$$$$ meat-market commercially driven bands. Sure every band wants to make money as that's how the game is played, however many bands somehow just sit below the 'successful' hit producers and miss the target so to speak, yet these bands are just as bloody good as the 'sausage factory' money making bands...queue/enter; THE FIXX. I loved them over here in New Zealand in the '80s. A mate bought me the LP 'Reach The Beach' for my 20th birthday in November 1983. Still got it in my collection. And even after my near-death motorcycle accident in 1990 when I was 26 that resulted in me losing my entire left leg, I still get so much pleasure and release of pain that comes with being an amputee at such a high level. Thank you The Fixx.
I was born in '70 so I'm right there in your musical era albeit a little younger than you. I liked the FIXX in the 80's but never owned an LP of theirs until my 40's when I bought them all! I have seen them live three times in the last five years or so and have gained a true appreciation of their music. Not only under rated, they have to be one of the most UNDER-APPRECIATED bands ever!! They truly are a great band to come out of the 80's who still put out good music today. Sorry about your accident but glad you're still around to enjoy such a great band.
@@quacksmack7449 Amen to your comment bro. Boy did Joy Division haunt a few of my mates over here in NZ during the '80s...comments such as 'it sounds depressing' were made...and my reply was always the same...'It's REAL!'...I guess some of my friends who were in to Boy George, Dexy's Midnight Runners, and general er...pop music just couldn't understand the hard truth Joy Division was in to telling and sounding like. One of my fav songs from Joy Division is 'Dead Souls'.
If anyone could find me footage of the 86 Moody Blues tour I'd sure appreciate it there's audio but no video ANYWHERE !! I want this unscrolling backdrop at The Other Side Of Life whole show frankly

@@stevenmccoy5103what do you mean who are The Beatles ?
SO HAPPY they played "Outside" and "Woman On A Train"... such brilliant songs! If only they played "I'm Life"...
How cool, I was there that night!! Nice little venue and what great gig it was! Love this band since 1983 and will do forever...
"Woman On A Train" might be The Fixx's most underrated song. Absolutely gorgeous.
love that song and the phantoms album
100% agree
Woman in Chains by TFF gets more airplay and notoriety, but I think Woman on a Train is every bit as good and deserves more attention and accolades.
My favourite lyrics of any track………..ever x
I Will is bloody fantastic too.

Underrated, unique, and sooo talented. I boogie to one thing leads to another; and red skies gives me eerie chills every time.👏
What’s their rating??
Excellent Quality. Deeper and Deeper is a great Opener, too. One of My Favorites, of theirs. ;)
