  • it was a worthy finale of a great tour ! great because the guys finally came back to germany and it was the first time I saw them again since the Ink tour, which I think was 1992.
All credits for the recording go to Michael Saczinowski.
I only remixed the sound and put the video together.
Thanks to Scott O !!! he put together the marks for the songs. I hope you don't mind I put them here ;o)

I'm proud to say I studied guitar with Jamie West Oram (The Fixx's guitarist) for a few years. He was not only a fantastic guitarist and musician that taught me to focus on my feel and tone, but he was a supremely gifted teacher. He would never admit it either, as he was one of the most modest and lovely people i've had the pleasure of knowing.

Antonio Celiento - Fell head over heels in love with The Fixx over here in New Zealand in the '80s - I turned 20 in '83 and a friend gave me the 'Reach The Beach' LP on vinyl as a birthday gift and I still have it [it was released on 15 May 1983, my birthday is in November]. I have always been intrigued with the lyrics of The Fixx songs especially, as well as the great sound of the group. They were v big over here in New Zealand. I loved quite a few Great British/UK groups from the '80s who used the synthesizer...groups such as New Order [I loved Joy Division], The Clash, The Cure, Roxy Music, David Bowie, The Psychedelic Furs, Blondie, Ultravox, Simple Minds, Big Country, The Smiths, Duran Duran, The Jam, Tears For Fears, & Joe Jackson. I also loved Australian groups Icehouse, Hunters & Collectors, The Angels, Hoodoo Gurus, The Church, Men At Work, INXS, & Australian Crawl. Loved American groups of the '80s; The Cars, Talking Heads, The Police, The Pretenders, Van Halen, and Meatloaf...just a few...

Still among the best bands of any genre and any timeframe. They have the added cachet of being birthed in the eternal 80's. Saw them during the Elemental Tour in the late 90's. Awesome, moody and deep with a musicianship that puts them in the prog category in my eyes. They have a unique sound and message.

    • @zenpaganwarrior

I caught them on that tour as well in 1998. Small club, maybe 400 capacity. They were so humble and played just like it was 40K. My gal and I were in the front row. I gave her a long-stemmed rose that she ended up tossing onstage. Cy picked it up and scented it, and held onto it...of course! It was a barn-burner of a show. They played all the memorable hits and a bunch of others. I love The FIXX!

Remember living/working with my cousin in New Mexico almost 17-18 yrs. ago and riding along with him making deliveries from town to town. During our many trips between towns, we listened to a 120 min. mix tape of nothing but The Fixx that I had... Still remember driving back home on a particular long stretch of lonely desert road, tired and worn out from our days work, with _'Woman On A Train'_ followed by _'Facing The Wind'_ blasting from the stereo while trying to beat a huge supercell storm approaching from the east. Hot, blistering sun shining on you from the right and the blackest clouds and angriest lightning encroaching from the left, nothing but desert as far as you could see on either side, sweet desert rain aroma in the air, racing the beeline home... One of the best memories I'll ever have. *_THE FIXX RULES..._*

A friend bought me their second LP 'Reach The Beach' released on 15th May 1983, for my 20th birthday in November 1983. I still have the LP in my collection and play it when the need arises. The '80s was an incredible decade for me over here in New Zealand. Was very fortunate to see and experience many live gigs in pubs and sports stadiums. Pulled an 'all-nighter' with friends when "Live Aid" went down on 13th July '85. I really like your comment that The Fixx are an under rated band as that is so totally correct in my opinion. And that is sort of the story of their life. Make no error though. Many under rated bands are so often better than their so called 'successors' i.e. bands who sell mega albums and pull mega $ for their record companies. The music industry (and I'm generalising here) can be a filthy industry...Pink Floyd's 'Welcome To The Machine' is testimony to that plus they also have other songs referencing the music industry as a 'gravy train'...However The Fixx I believe have always stayed loyal to themselves and their fans and never surrendered to over-commercialisation. That's why they are so good in my opinion. Best wishes to you. Leighton (New Zealand)

Early 80's I was a just out of high school teenager and music was something I wanted to pursue as a career ( bold ambition lol ) As a beginning bassist during that era I was inspired by songs I could play. I also attended many new wave, UK performers in the 80-90's concerts. I will admit that this was one band I regret never getting the chance to see live. Great UK music back then! I couldn't appreciate all their musicianship back then but they sound freaking tight after 20+ yrs. The drummer and bassist are solid!

I like their innovative sound and enjoyed their music then and now. Saved by Zero played on radio here in the U.S. and then saw the video on MTV, was hooked. I remember sporting a Fixx button I bought from a record store. Some thinks-he's-cool fellow high schooler said "the Fixx? You gotta be kidding me?" I said NO, I'm not. Well the band is still intact with ALL original members touring and releasing new albums that sound great. I really like Beautiful Friction. You can't say that for many 80s bands. Still fantastic music and would still wear that button. There are a couple of recent concerts here on RUclips that I really like, this concert in Germany is one of those. I also like the 07/04/2015 of July in Florida video.

Oh I almost got into a fight at school over Fixx buttons. I wore mine to class and a snotty girl said, "Eewww The Fixx, they suck!" I was like "F off, who cares what you think?" lol She thought bands like RATT and The Scorpions were cool, gimme a break LOL

The Fixx are always talking about thoughtful things, introspection, questioning reality, etc. Deeper and deeper stuff. That's why they didn't really catch on with the mainstream. For me, desert island material.

One of the most emotionally-stimulating bands in music history. And, sadly, the most underrated. Cy is the genius Prince and Michael Jackson aspired to be but fell abysmally short. That said, that poor drummer looks he's going to require an ambulance ride home.

29:30 - This live version of Outside is awesome!
2:02:03 - I see there are jerks who steal the setlists in Hamburg Germany too. He almost knocks the microphone stand over getting to it.

LOVE how they go into Tina Turner's "Be Good To Me" during "Secret Separation". That was an awesome medley. So cool when bands do that! My old 80's band used to do Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild" and then go into the full length performance of Rush's "Working Man" during the solo section, and then back to the Steppenwolf song... and then usually Rush's "Tom Sawyer" right after that (all of those songs in the key of Em, so it worked perfectly). Anyways... love it when bands do live medleys. U2 does that a lot too.

I'm zero for 3 now. I'm beginning to think that Mr. Woods does not want his keyboard to work properly whenever he has to play 'One Thing Leads to Another'. The video from The Bing Lounge from a few years ago, as well as another from a different venue. Other than that, great video, and Cy sounds just as great as he ever did! Props to the band for their tireless efforts as well, much appreciated!

Great setlist. Aside from something crazy like Kingdom Christsake, I can't say they skipped anything I would have wanted... Ok, maybe Subterranean or Calm Animals... or Two Different Views, or Roger and Out... ok, maybe I would want a few more songs.

Brian Eno/Harold Budd have uncredited claims to the intro transition. Check out their brilliant album "The Pearl". BTW, I don't disparage The Fixx at all for not giving credit. After all, this is RUclips.
