Nice video dude, I’m curious about your MPGs now since you did the -3° cam gears, tune and spacer? Obviously Tacos on 35s consume a lot especially since we have stock gears but you seem to have really help the truck. I’m suffering with manually downshifting and probably 12mpgs lol but Overall great video! Very nice! I’m looking into the mods you did to help my taco
Thanks David! On my last trip I averaged 15 mpg combined city/hwy on 35's with stock gears and the above mentioned mods. The truck is still relearning the new trims with the spacer and should improve more, but the main benefit is usable power vs mpg.
Would you say the spacer would be beneficial to someone who doesn’t have a tune or anything besides a CAI? If the power band is usually around 3k rpm is it now at 2500?
In my opinion it is beneficial for sure, especially for those with larger tires than factory. The most noticeable difference is around the 2000 rpm range and up.
I’m going Procharged this month. I have a full volant air intake with the ram air. I will have no more use for due to the procharger has it’s own intake. I’m going to sell it and wanted to see if there are any takers here. They go for $468.90 new and I’ll probably be willing to take 300 for it.
@@gio.rodriguez awesome! If you can focus on the details of just installing the cam gear and making sure the timing is correct that would be great!! This will help many DIYers.
I have the hp tuners mpvi2 and tune from justdsm on tacomaworld. As of now he exclusively tunes for Overland Tailor Tuning. So you would have to go through them.
@@gio.rodriguez Currently regeared to 4.88's with cam gears installed. Also have the KD MAX 9.0 tune but switching over to OTT pretty soon & planning to get the Volant CAI. Would I see a significant difference with the manifold spacer installed?
I seen this on your IG randomly. I've got 4.88 nitro and 285s. I would like to get a Volant CAI and this spacer. What do you think about that combo with what I got. I don't have a tune or anything yet.
I have an 05 Tacoma I install urd tundra throttle body, rip supercharger coils, urd exhaust cam gear, jba long ceramic headers, afe intake, Gibson exhaust, jet performance mass air sensor, do you recommend me to install it? Do you think I can get better results?
Subbed. You explain things in a very easy to understand way and you show what you are doing very well. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I appreciate it

Can you do a full video walk around of your truck?
I am actually working on that for my next vid!
Great video!😎
Great video! Does this require a tune or can it be ran in stock form?
Thank you! A tune is not required for this 👍🏼
I know this won't fit with a maggie, but any idea if this will fit with a procharger on a 4.0?

I'll give you $20 and pay for the shipping
Great video! Are you located in Fresno? Also If you had to guess, how much hp is gained but doing this and the -3 degree timing gear?
Thanks for watching! I’m located in SoCal. There hasn’t been any before & after dynos that I’m aware of.
You should do a detailed DIY for the cam gear install!
I have one more set of gears for my friends truck. I’ll try and make one during that install 👍🏻

Did it change the sound of the truck? Any negative? I just ordered mine
No, the sound is the same and I've been running it for years without issue 👍
@@gio.rodriguez perfect, thanks!
Nice 2nd gen.
What tuning software are you running?
Also what intake system is that?

Nice! I feel like you would notice a slight improvement and gain a little bit of the lost performance due to larger tires.
@Gio Rodriguez oh man, on stock gears I hated the 285's. It was such a drastic Improvement when I got the new gears.
@@TommyG_0311 i still have stock gears on 315’s 😬
@@gio.rodriguez oh your poor gas mileage 😭😭😭😭
@@TommyG_0311 I’m at around 15 mpg combined hwy/city with the exhaust cam gears, intake spacer, tune
Do you know if this will fit with the TRD supercharger?
Unfortunately it will not because of the belt idler pulley mounting bracket in the front.
Did you notice the intake manifold being oily or dirty inside at all?
very minimal oil, but no dirt
I have an 05 Tacoma

I felt like it was worth it. Did you feel a difference after the urd gears were installed?
All in all, I feel the car is very light i like it.
I have a pedal commander and I changed 4.56 gears with a 33x12.50/17 tire
Dose the intake manifold space come with the bolts to replace the studs
Yes, it comes with bolts and a gasket
Have you gone with a larger TB as of today ? if so, any improvements in torque or hp
I have not done that or plan to. There really is no gain on a mod like that because your plenum will be the same small size regardless.
Ok good, didn’t know that.
I was hoping having the plenum spacer would make a difference.
Did you get any torque gains from the plenum spacer?
what is the thickness of the spacer you added
It is 1/2”
What up! Are you going to be installing these 🤩
Yes I am!
@@gio.rodriguez first! Lol
Sad now cuz I’m last lol
Are the spacer available anymore? Link says not available
Hmmm I wonder what’s going on. Dm highaltitude on Tacomaworld. He makes them 👍🏼
@@gio.rodriguez could be there out of stock,I subscribed to mailing list so if they get more made hopefully they let me know lol
Using that intake have you ever ran into any issue taking in water?
I have had it a few years and never had any issues. I’m sure a deep enough water crossing can be a problem, but I haven’t run into any yet.
Link to the intake manifold spacer 😬
I updated the description with the link 👍🏻
What intake do you have?!
Hi Tucker, it is a Volant ram air scoop and custom couplers/piping to plumb it to the stock airbox.
Are there any pros to adding that besides not getting air from the wheel well?
@@tuckeraustin5358 no need for a snorkel! 😎

Appreciate it!
How much of a lift you running?
3” front and 2.25” rear 👍🏻
