Old Irish Free state constitution under Articles 47,48 & 50 was a citizen based model similar to the Switzerland constitution in that the ordinary citizens through either local or national petition to instigate constitutional changes and referendums unlike the current Political class led referendums that suit their corrupt agenda. My Swiss friends said the difference between Ireland and Switzerland is that in Switzerland the people of Switzerland have their foot on the throat of the political class whilst in Ireland its the political class has their foot on tbe throat of the Irish people.

Deprogramming from "educational and parental indoctrination" might help - How? - Systematically providing all students with the truth and information about corruption of all elements that govern us. Creating forums where the truth is being exposed repeatedly. It needs to be done in a networking fashion. Call for petitions..... I feel this question above could go out on a platform on its own. What will it take to expose the good people of Ireland to the truth, gain a greater understanding of the world and themselves............... Many good minds and hearts, in synergy, may come up with solutions to this key question. It is after all madness to expect a different outcome by doing the same thing over and over again or as Alberti Einstein said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. We need something different to create a shift in comprehending what is really going on.

An excellent and informative survey of the plight Ireland has found itself in since the 2008 financial crisis. Mr Maye has outlined the real reasons why Ireland's recovery has stagnated, He is clear who is benefiting from the continued stagnation and upon whom the austerity has fallen. The speech stands as a warning to my own nation Canada. The speech describes succinctly how a proud Nation and a worthy people can be brought low by what can only be termed entrenched neoliberal policies , corruption and political hacks or shills once politics, the nation's bureaucracy and systems of redress and justice are compromised.
