Those times were golden times, Direction was simple and great, no vulgarity, just simple story with good direction, just pure acting. People were just simple with traditional style of clothes.

For those asking how the door was locked from inside, you will find this answer in the book, for those who haven't read, the lock used is an Yale lock. An Yale lock actually locks the door from outside, but the doctor being the murderer lies to Byomkesh saying it is locked from the inside. And apparently the Yale lock can only be opened with a key from the outside or without a key from the inside. Assuming one condition that there were no duplicate keys and the original was inside, they had to break the door. But yes, the question does occur, why there was no duplicate key with the doctor. Maybe old times.
Thank You! But when the doctor leaves the room after the murder, he seems to be just leaving it, not even closing it properly. If he comes at a later time, he would be surely noticed. But it could be argued that that portion is Bakshi's narrative description of what happened.

We all praise bengali contemporary actors as byomkesh but rajit kapur is the best of all.. I am possibly the greatest fan of his because I'm mesmerized by his acting skills and handsome look.. Classic means -- even you've watch it over & over again, it's still fresh. Byomkesh Bakshi episodes r pure classic. During meal time i like to watch something as entertainment & B Bakshi is a favorite show i like to enjoy.
No, he is very different from Holmes. As much as I love Holmes, in many cases Holmes is not a wholesome person. (not referring to BBC Sherlock) He takes 7% cocaine, is a misogynist sometimes and is a recluse from the society. Byomkesh on the other hand shows, you can have extraordinary mind and analytic power and you can be a guy next door, a loving faithful husband and a great father. Byomkesh is more approachable, more flesh and blood than the Great Sherlock Holmes, who is the pinnacle of intelligence, but unattainable.( I am excluding friends because both Sherlock and Byomkesh are loyal to their best friends, Ajit and Watson, to their last breaths.)

I used to love watching this series when I was a little kid..probably got me into liking the suspense/mystery/thriller genre. After the latest movie release I again remembered this serial and now gonna watch the whole series here again..thanks to the uploaders! :D
Never watched this series, but dordarshan produced some of the best dramas, now we dont see such great dramas, these dramas were content driven nowadays its all about sets, sarees and sex.
I remember watching this as a kid and absolutely loved it. In a world full of boring melodramatic serials on star plus, when this was broadcasted again on TV, it was a completely new experience for me. This show introduced me to this completely new genre and altho I initially I couldn't quite grasp what the idea was behind this tv show, I found myself being extremely intruiged by it. I still cherish the feeling of curiousity I felt back then along with bittersweet nostalgia of being a kid.
When i was kid i was scared of this serial and usually watched from behind of pillow. I can still feel the pressure of serial and Dad coming home and my home work was not done due to back to back TV Serials
Evergreen Serials in 1990s, evergreen script on that era. Super actors - whether it was Byomkesh Bakshi, Dekh bhai dekh, Zabaan Sambhaal Ke, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Tehkikaat, POtli Baba ki, Circus, Faugee, Sea Hawks - Thank you Doordarshan. for making our childhood GOLDEN., I must say stop all today's channel - run again Doordarshan with those serial, I bet on this TRP recorder cant calculate the rating- cos it will BOOM-BOOM.
I agree that you cannot compare those serials with today's serial but I disagree that it will be a successful venture today because I think the viewers are different now. Those days, the viewers taste matched with writers/performers.

जासूसी मैं रूचि रखने वाले लोगों के लिए व्योमकेश बख्सी बहुत ही अच्छा धारावाहिक है. मैंने इसकी सभी कड़ियाँ देखीं हैं. इस धाराबाहिक का विचार Sherlock Homes से बहुत मिलता है. बस परिश्थितियों का फर्क हैं. इस तरह के और भी धारावाहिकों की जरूरत हैं. वर्तमान परिश्थितियों पर आधारित जासूसी कड़ियाँ चाहिए.

However, later elucidated Byomkesh the mechanism of the lock to Ajit while the latter had asked the same question to the former (who is Byomkesh Bakshi, the inquisitive, satyanweshi( সত্যান্বেষী)).
As a 90s kid, this was one of my favorite shows on TV...fantastic storylines, fresh unhyped acting backed by brilliant music!!!

I have read the complete book of Byomkesh Bakshi. I am a big fan of him. Pride of Bengali fictitious Detective.
I can find comments made by the adults but not by any younger ones like me.. Well, I'm fourteen years old and my father has introduced me to the original byomkesh in this lockdown period.. We all praise bengali contemporary actors as byomkesh but rajit kapur is the best of all.. I am possibly the greatest fan of his because I'm mesmerized by his acting skills and handsome look.. And he has a beautiful smile...

No, he is very different from Holmes. As much as I love Holmes, in many cases Holmes is not a wholesome person. (not referring to BBC Sherlock) He takes 7% cocaine, is a misogynist sometimes and is a recluse from the society. Byomkesh on the other hand shows, you can have extraordinary mind and analytic power and you can be a guy next door, a loving faithful husband and a great father. Byomkesh is more approachable, more flesh and blood than the Great Sherlock Holmes, who is the pinnacle of intelligence, but unattainable.( I am excluding friends because both Sherlock and Byomkesh are loyal to their best friends, Ajit and Watson, to their last breaths.)

I used to love watching this series when I was a little kid..probably got me into liking the suspense/mystery/thriller genre. After the latest movie release I again remembered this serial and now gonna watch the whole series here again..thanks to the uploaders! :D
Never watched this series, but dordarshan produced some of the best dramas, now we dont see such great dramas, these dramas were content driven nowadays its all about sets, sarees and sex.

I remember watching this as a kid and absolutely loved it. In a world full of boring melodramatic serials on star plus, when this was broadcasted again on TV, it was a completely new experience for me. This show introduced me to this completely new genre and altho I initially I couldn't quite grasp what the idea was behind this tv show, I found myself being extremely intruiged by it. I still cherish the feeling of curiousity I felt back then along with bittersweet nostalgia of being a kid.
When i was kid i was scared of this serial and usually watched from behind of pillow. I can still feel the pressure of serial and Dad coming home and my home work was not done due to back to back TV Serials

Super actors - whether it was Byomkesh Bakshi, Dekh bhai dekh, Zabaan Sambhaal Ke, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Tehkikaat, POtli Baba ki, Circus, Faugee, Sea Hawks - Thank you Doordarshan. for making our childhood GOLDEN., I must say stop all today's channel - run again Doordarshan with those serial, I bet on this TRP recorder cant calculate the rating- cos it will BOOM-BOOM.
