True, the game for the PS2 For me was actually harder for me but the one on the PS Vita Persona 4 Golden Edition was actually easier especially with the skill cards where it allows you to use it on any persona you want and they learn that skill no matter what it is. This song is still no.1 on y list
After finishing Persona 5 and 3 and playing this. This is easily the best boss theme. Captures facing your inner self Like seriously that boss fight in Futaba's palace would go great with this theme
I played this game recently when I was in isolation from covid. Being locked up in a single room wasn't fun but it certainly was an experience living someone else's life while I couldn't live mine. I've played persona 5 before and I can confidently say that this is my favourite out of the 2.
I love all these songs individually, but as a compilation it's perfect! Denying one's self, raging in anger and sorrow in denial 'till finally embracing one's self, all these emotions are told beautifully through music alone 🎶🎶 And I simply love it
Just started playing Persona 4 a few days ago and I'm guessing the games message is to not hide your true self from people (or just accepting yourself) and the shadow characters are the characters true self, example Shadow Yosuke talks about how Yosuke is scared of being isolated and wants to be socially accepted by people and Yosuke denies it cause the Shadow to go crazy and he is only truly defeated after Yosuke accepts it as the truth, also the Shadow Character battle theme is "I'll Face Myself"
Well, yes and no, the Shadows aren't necessarily the character's *true* selves, so much as they're aspects of the character that they're either repressing and/or simply refusing to acknowledge. The true self, rather, is once they've acknowledged that whatever the Shadows is representing is just as much a part of them as everything else, them before accepting the Shadow as well as the Shadow are both merely incomplete aspects of the true self.
@@harryunderwood9387 It's okay. Most RPGs tend to go towards "We must save them by beating them or killing them", in that sort of way. Like a funny parody sort of way.

Persona 4 was my first time playing the series. When I was looking at the back of the box as a kid, I honestly thought that the characters transformed into their personas. Would have been so much cooler if they did. Even if they could only summon their main personas at first, then merge and transform later in the game. A true acceptance of ones self. The art for this video looks like it would go with that idea so well.
The anime did something like that, so it would be cool if they added it in case they make a P4 remake (although I really doubt that will happen in the near future)
If I see a person looking like me, Imma hit 'em with the: "saywhatifyouaremeandacceptyourself" The other person: "What?" Me: "You have fallen for the most classic of blunders."
I love that only 10% of Steam players ever heard this music in game. Persona games have such a high amount of people who own the game who never complete it.
@@STWD1ST I have my own hypothesis as to why. I postulate that most people who purchase Persona games like the idea of Persona, but in the end get bored because when it comes down to it half the game is listening to people talk. I enjoy this and that is why I have gotten the true ending of the 2 soon to be 3 Persona games I've played. But most aren't actually interested in 100+ hour RPGS.
this song could be my favorite song from any game tbh, it has everything, a cool as fuck climax, a relaxing yet intriguing start and a melancolic yet kinda happy ending.
As someone who had pretty much forgotten about this game, as P4G was my introduction into the Persona, hell even Atlus, franchise. I was pretty young when I saw P4G and probably didn't understood much of it as a result but I loved the style. Then I watched P5 and P3 at later portions of my life and they seriously hit hard. I thought that P4 was a blunder after P3, until I heard this song because I was interested in trying to remember what P4 was about...After going though 50+ episodes and having a moment out of some Regaining your lost Memory TV drama, damn was I wrong. That transition at the beginning absolutely surprised me and I'm glad I tried to remember this masterpiece.
Persona 6 be like: Now you've learned to accept tragedy, to accept the truth and to never let go of your freedom.... Now we'll teach you to be ready to actually do your job and lend a helping hand.
I made this comment before I actually ever played persona 4, so it’s funny looking back that the reason I found this video was because of an one plays video.
This will never cease to remind me of the undertale x persona fanfiction I was writing in high school, where during chapter 4, Asriel and Yu Narukami were fighting Chara’s shadow. I’m not sure if I should finish it at this point...
+ungodly cool guy with a mask Yes. My advice though, if you have a Vita play Golden. It's much improved over the original. It adds two new Social Links, new Personae, New 'ultimate' Personae for your party members if you max their Social Links before January, a new optional endgame dungeon that becomes available on the "Final Day", a new 'epilogue' after the end of the true ending, new mechanics like Skill Cards, etc. You won't regret getting Golden if you do. I love the original, yet Golden is superior to the original in pretty much every way.

Fan lyrics by Count-Author on DeviantArt
“You’re not me” “I’m not you”
“We’re not anything alike”
“You won’t ever understand the true self”
“This feeling, I’m empty”
“There’s nothing for me to grasp”
“If you think you’re me, then I’ll Face Myself”
(30 second instrumental)
You can hide your tears
You deny your fears
In the end you’re just lying to yourself
Ignoring your haunts
And your selfish wants
All your fooling is fueling the true self
You can hide your tears
You deny your fears
In the end you’re just lying to yourself
Ignoring your haunts
And your selfish wants
All your fooling is fueling the true self
Now I am a Shadow
The one and only true self
I’m no longer the same person as you
I can be what I am
And crush all that bores me
Just try to stop me and I’ll start with you
(10 second instrumental)
You are not me! I am not YOU!
Just what I wanted to hear!
You can shield your eyes
Telling yourself lies
You fan the flames within yourself
You’re wearing a mask
With a tough-guy act
But there is no hiding your true self
You can shield your eyes
Telling yourself lies
You fan the flames within yourself
You’re wearing a mask
With a tough-guy act
But there is no hiding your true self
(10 second instrumental)
Now I am a Shadow
The one and only true self
I’m no longer the same person as you
Accept me, what you are
Understand you cannot live
Until you stand to face the only truth
Now I am a Shadow
The one and only true self
I’m no longer the same person as you
The shackles have broken
I’m unleashed and now free
To spread the shadows of despairing truth
“You are me” “I am you”
“I’m accepting this feeling”
“As much as it hurts to face the truth”
“I’m done hiding my Shadow”
“My past is behind me”
“I’m far from empty and I’ll Face Myself”
You are yourself, there is no need to cry
What’s done is done and in the past as they say
We have had our skeletons and shells
Nobody blames you, it’s all just Hell
Turn to the light, it’s time to say goodbye
Your friends are all here waiting for you
There is no more fear, no more emptiness
Hope with your friends soar
Feeling despair never more

Holy shit. Best lyrics to this song ever.
True, the game for the PS2 For me was actually harder for me but the one on the PS Vita Persona 4 Golden Edition was actually easier especially with the skill cards where it allows you to use it on any persona you want and they learn that skill no matter what it is. This song is still no.1 on y list
I didn’t know how to use skill cards until my 3rd play though 🤦♀️

This song is the irrefutable proof that music can give you super powers.
After finishing Persona 5 and 3 and playing this. This is easily the best boss theme. Captures facing your inner self Like seriously that boss fight in Futaba's palace would go great with this theme
I loved how the anime implemented this theme.
I played this game recently when I was in isolation from covid. Being locked up in a single room wasn't fun but it certainly was an experience living someone else's life while I couldn't live mine. I've played persona 5 before and I can confidently say that this is my favourite out of the 2.

Lah, Main Persona juga bang?
Ah, that fight with Marie, I don't even want to attack her

Persona 4 was my first time playing the series. When I was looking at the back of the box as a kid, I honestly thought that the characters transformed into their personas. Would have been so much cooler if they did. Even if they could only summon their main personas at first, then merge and transform later in the game. A true acceptance of ones self. The art for this video looks like it would go with that idea so well.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga is literally what you are describing
This is, personally, the best OST in the game.
And that's saying something when all of the OST of P4G are bangers.

The anime did something like that, so it would be cool if they added it in case they make a P4 remake (although I really doubt that will happen in the near future)

Yes.
