You’re so lucky that you got on it! We tried three times and first time, the cut us off right before we were in the que, 4 hours wasted. Second time it just kept breaking down over and over again to the point they had to close the ride, we waited about 2 hours so not extremely bad but bad. And now the reason why I truly think Disney is better, third time we waited ten hours, wasted our whole day and a couple fast passes- AND WE WERE IN THW QUE THE WHOLE 10 HOURS it said “lesson will be postponed blah blah blah” about 15 times! The longest it was down was 5 hours! Shortest was 45 minutes! We were just about to get one when they said it was closed, everyone was pissed. The best they could give us was an express pass to the ride, which isn’t bad, but we deserved more in my opinion. The best part about our day was a baby learned how to walk during the 5 hour break down.
I was there on opening morning and am surprised to see now that the overflow queue path is exactly the same. My wait was 7 hours that day, and yet was honestly STILL worth it. Can't wait to ride it a second time! Glad that you love it, Tim!

It doesn’t appear to be a hard rule, it’s just when you get to that waist size you’ll start to have trouble. There’s a video of a guy from Attractions Magazine with a 48 inch waist fitting on the motorcycle side. He had trouble fitting in the sidecar seat.
@@jasonstamp10 Yeah, the more strict waistline posting is to avoid guests having to take the walk of shame after a 3 hour queue, and encouraging people to use the test seats before lining up. It appears it can handle a much larger waistline, but some peoples 40" figure realistically may not fit.
Thank you so much Tim for abiding by the rules and not filming on the ride. Many people may be disappointed but the rule is there for a reason. It's great to see. Awesome you had a good time!

Hagrid's I feel like I could ride all day and not have an issue. It isn't as thrilling, but at this point it isn't the trills that bring me back. It's the overall experience.
@@TheTimTracker Sounds like you're getting old. I rode Dueling Dragons 12 times in a single day (6 on Fire and 6 on Ice). It was off season and the wait for Dragons and Hulk was only 15 minutes that particular day. I think I rode Hulk 4 times that day as well. I found Hagrid underwhelming -- probably because it is so overhyped. The vertical drop is so small (17 feet), why even bother? Hagrid is a decent ride (way better than Fast and Furious anyways), also better than Escape from Gringotts.... But sacrificing 2 major coasters (Fire & Ice) for a single junior coaster (Hagrid) -- I'm definitely not going to be renewing my annual pass to Universal.
@@LakeHowellDigitalVideo I think Hagrid's will appeal to more people, and it looks like they are building another hardcore coaster in JP. For me, Hagrid's was the best combination of thrills with a themed environment.
@@peterankin8928 Meh, I think people originally said the same thing about Fast and Furious Supercharged. But ridership on that has dropped way faster than Disaster or Earthquake.... So time will tell.
I'm so glad you finally got to go! Especially before they started opening the ride midday. Been so busy with work that I didn't see this video on my feed. I really enjoyed the ride. I'm do glad you did too! I know I was raving about it when I found you that one day, and I really wished you could've gone sooner. The line was really a walk on during employee previews, and it was moving fast as hell, so I didn't have much time to stop and admire the art on the walls and stuff. Only a 3 hour wait for me because right as we got to the loading dock there was lightning. I actually look forward to finding all of the easter eggs and things whenever I go back again.
ElizaShakiraMassani pandora easy claps this roller coaster is over rated af. Its a really cool idea but theres no theming that makes sense. Its a fine roller coaster but I wish they put more thought into it
As far as the space in your seat, Tim, those with bigger waists also sit higher and forward (depending on how they are built), so that space will disappear pretty quickly. Glad to see you had a great time!!!
Hey Tim! I just rode it on this past Thursday. WOW. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I can appreciate extremely great theming and a great ride. If you are struggling for time or only have one day, maybe get a VIP tour (ask for PJ, he was great). They make it a mission to get you on the ride and get up to date notifications on their work phones on if they can take you and ride status. As a taller guy (I'm 6'6") I just barely fit. On the test vehicle I had to slam the lap bar down on my thighs to get it to go green and my fiance had to push down on it once we got on the ride to actually make it work (Universal team members cant help you "fit" into the ride vehicle) i only had the option if doing the motorbike because no way i was fitting in the side car. When you have long legs it's tough, i cant compress my shin bone to make my legs fit, i have the same problem on Flight of Passage. If you can fit, get on that ride. 100% worth it.
Thanks for pointing out the dimensional limitations of the ride, both waist size and height on those ceilings! Two of the guys in my family are just shy of 6 foot-7, and none of us are petite.
Yay for this vlog! We missed you by a day, ding dang! I just wanted to say thank you for all your Universal vlogs, they helped us have an awesome time while we were there on vaca.
Was waiting for you to ride! Always my favorite person to follow along with, Both you and your beautiful bride. We will be back there hopefully next June for my sons 16th bday and I hope it’s up and running early in the morning so we can rope drop it.
QUICK TIP: I visited Universal Studios for the first time two days ago (6/26). Hagrid’s opened around ~11:45 and we got in line at 11:20. We waited about an 1.25 hours total. Definitely recommend getting in line ~30 mins before it opens. It’s 1000% worth the initial wait, and the line was never under 3 hours after it officially opened for the day. Universal also offered fans and water throughout during the initial line that winds through the Lost Continent to help folks stay cool. Hope that helps!
We usually focus the majority of our time on the daily edited video so live streaming is difficult. You can see some of those issues in the Galaxy's Edge live stream where I was trying to do two things at once.
7:44 I'd put money down on that being a reference to the Flying Unicorn ride that used to be at Islands before it got repurposed as Flight of the Hippogriff
Awesome sneak peak/ review. But I gotta ask. What hair product do you use??? Even while sweating its looking on point. I need to know the secret! Thanks!!
Im glad to see it actually has a decent ride time. I remember waiting 40 minutes for Flight of the hippogriff and it was very anti climactic it was so short.
Well, we were waiting for about an hour before the park opened so the ride wasn't cycling during those times. So really it was running on and off for about 3 hours while we were waiting. But, there were at least 5 trains on the track so the math is pretty complex but I'm going to estimate around 3,500 people rode the ride before me that day.
I rode it on the 18th! Waited 6 hours only bc of weather delays. Luckily we were already inside and in shelter! I was in the front and felt like I was really driving it! Loved it!
Cool fact about the queue: it is said that the walls start caving in around you while in line because it represents Hagrid and how he feels trapped within himself.
Thank Tim! Awesome review. Looks like the claustrophobicness could be an issue for some at your 14:40 mark. Esp HOURS of being cramped. I have a couple friends that couldn't do it, i appreciate the info about it.

How are these people not having to use the bathrooms during the wait?! I wouldn't last an hour, lo!!
They were giving out restroom tickets!
libee84 restroom tickets? What’s that?
Yeah if you are in line you can get a bathroom ticket if you wanna do your business
rayray2451 from what I’ve seen it’s a place holder so you can use the restroom and not lose your place in line when the lines get to be that long
I have been waiting for THIS!!!!!
Now here’s the question Tim Flight of Passage in Pandora or Hagrids in island? Which one wins?
I was trapped in a island with Josh Hutcherson.
ElizaShakiraMassani pandora easy claps this roller coaster is over rated af. Its a really cool idea but theres no theming that makes sense. Its a fine roller coaster but I wish they put more thought into it
C_amo I don’t care about theming, dude. It looks hella fun regardless. Animatronics, projections, and screens can get lost.
Or how about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run?
@@camo3444 so which do you like better?
I love the nods to Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows with the dragon fire and cornish pixies. And of course the skrewts.
It was pretty awesome the way they tied everything together.
TheTimTracker I bet.
As far as the space in your seat, Tim, those with bigger waists also sit higher and forward (depending on how they are built), so that space will disappear pretty quickly. Glad to see you had a great time!!!
I went this past thanksgiving break and this is still the best ride I have ever ridden
8:00 I would have said that’s a crocodile 😂😂😂
Thanks Tim for waiting so long to do this. Love your enthusiasm. Only wish you could of done a POV. Thanks Tim and Jenn.
Ahhh I’ve been waiting for this video to hear your thoughts!!! Thank you for sharing and waiting in that long line for us!
You are very welcome!
So happy to see you finally ride and hear your thoughts!! I can't wait to ride it!!!
I miss Dueling Dragons... :(
im hoping this helps intamin get back into the US a little more. we need more of their rides!
Tim Tim Tim Tim Tim
ARE YOU PLAYING “WIZARDS UNITE”
It's great to be back to Tim Tracker 😀
Want to ride but scared, I’m a chicken xxx
Tim you’re awesome!! Notification squad!! :)
Thank you so much!
TheTimTracker OMG you replied!!! I’m nerding out right now! 😂 love y’all
I rode this ride at 9:30am and pm, it was by far the best ride in the park.
So hopefully when I get out there next year the queue time will be a lot shorter. 3hours 55 minutes maybe?
I completely doubt it, but I hope they bring this to Hollywood. This looks like so much fun!
Thanks tim for taking 1 for the team 4 hours wait you are the mvp
Thanks for sharing. We have yet to bring our little girl to universal. She saw this and wants to go. I think it’s time to make a trip.
8:25. I can't with the guy and the pole.
Tim, thanks for the footage! I can't wait to ride it!
He likes the feeling of large black objects up his buttox
You did an amazing job filming! I can't wait to ride and see the amazing que you showed!
Thank you for making awesome videos if you can you should live stream going into parks that would be awesome
We usually focus the majority of our time on the daily edited video so live streaming is difficult. You can see some of those issues in the Galaxy's Edge live stream where I was trying to do two things at once.
Okay keep up the great videos
7:44 I'd put money down on that being a reference to the Flying Unicorn ride that used to be at Islands before it got repurposed as Flight of the Hippogriff
Ironic that Hagrid would be too big to ride this.
I can’t wait to hopefully ride this ride but I’m starting to get just as excited about the queue, lol!!!
Love you guys!
My boyfriend and I are going to Disney in October. Really hoping we get to meet you and jenn!
Yay! Glad you got to do this
For a Disney comparison would you mean Big thunder Mountain Railroad meets Tower of Terror?
I just went on this ride a few hours ago!! Amazing I love it so much!
Waiting ~4h for a ~3min ride mean you missed ~80 cycles of the ride while waiting in line :-D
Not necessarily, since they have 5+ trains running at once, it would be at least 400 cycles!!
I watched the POV on youtube. It looks like an awesome ride :-D
I rode it on the 18th! Waited 6 hours only bc of weather delays. Luckily we were already inside and in shelter! I was in the front and felt like I was really driving it! Loved it!
YEP ANYWAYS ARE YOU SAVED AND ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR AND RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE I COULDN'T IMAGINE HEAVEN WITHOUT YOU
Long wait for ride but you said worth it, so must be awwwwwsome .xxx
It was really fun!
TheTimTracker love u an Jen wach u guys everyday
Cool fact about the queue: it is said that the walls start caving in around you while in line because it represents Hagrid and how he feels trapped within himself.
YEP ANYWAYS ARE YOU SAVED AND ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR AND RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE I COULDN'T IMAGINE HEAVEN WITHOUT YOU
Tim my friend you have very good patience, i couldn’t wait that long to get on a ride
I've been excited to see you ride this!
Was there on opening day and 10 hour wait was crazy! Going back tomorrow to try and get on it, don't mind the 4 hour wait for it.
Where did your queue start
Thank Tim! Awesome review. Looks like the claustrophobicness could be an issue for some at your 14:40 mark. Esp HOURS of being cramped. I have a couple friends that couldn't do it, i appreciate the info about it.
I’m nervous to ride this, I’m a bigger person so a bit worried about the fit 😣
We were in line with you oof 😂😄
