That is a great tool. I was able to create quite a spectacular design (If I say so myself) following your initial tips with the circle, rectangle, polygon, boolean tools. Lightburn is pretty amazing - thank you for your simple instructions.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful! I searched for your Facebook group and can’t find it. I’ve found others but not one with the title you stated. Thanks! Jason
Hi Carl, very useful video! clean and easy to understand to follow your step as well. i just got one question, what if i want to draw something on a oval shape circle? is it the same method? Again thank you for your master piece and Ido appreciate for your video and your help!
I watched and rewatched over and over again the clock example and tried to duplicate what you did in my 9.2 lightburn version and it does not react the same, the tick duplicates 12 times right there at the 12 oclock position; it does not put 12 ticks around the face of the clock and I'm duplicating your every move so what am i missing?
I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. When I try to duplicate the gear I group the teeth then select the circle and the grouped teeth. The weld button is highlighted but the boolean buttons are not. If i hit weld the teeth disappear
Cheers for that, the cogs will come in very handy. I have a query. I have an image but I want to recess the area around so the image stands out, how do I do that? Been googling but I must not have the terminology right for my search.
make sure the area you want recessed is it's own shape group and set to fill. Make sure the part you want elevated is it's own group and just line or whatever. You may have to mess around with layer positions and/or join both separate object groups together to get it to work. I had to figure this out last night when trying to do a celtic knot...i wanted the knot itself elevated but the space in between to be engraved deeper. Whenever I ran a preview it showed the entire area in question being filled (which isn't what I wanted), it wasn't until I joined the recess and elevated object groups together that it worked. Hope that made some semblance of sense lol.
@@thetinkerverse thank you - Iv'e joined it this afternoon so will take a read through posts tonight. My machine is on the road from China and hope to deliver on Tuesday.
you neglected to mention holding down the "shift" key when selecting the circle just before you clicked on the circle array makes it work..... important to tell us every thing you are doing and not assume we know the software well enough to do that... found the "shift" info on a different video making a clock with lightburn
I don't believe I had to do that with the version I was on when I made the video. I'll look again under the latest version and if necessary I'll post a follow-up.
@@thetinkerverse Have you done a follow up yet ? The design format has changed slightly from your original version. I have done clocks in CamBam and trasferrred drawing to Lightburn .
@@alfredeast6827 I have not unfortunately. I haven't been able to get to my laser for a while due to other commitments so some of my videos are likely out of date with the software. I would consider this a guide assuming some things may need to be figured out on your own based on changes.
Would you like him to tell us how to sit in the chair also? What a ridiculous comment. How about thanking people for the time it takes to make these videos.

Absolutely and thank you!
I've only watched 2 of your videos and learned so much. I've been learning by trial and error and you just showed me some really good stuff.
This is nice quick tutorial! Thank you so much for posting this video! It has really helped me as new to LightBurn Software.

The weld option is not highlighted for me
how do i set it to make perfect circles ( not ovals) every time?
Hold the shift key while, at the same time, dragging your circle with the mouse
@@tillerman26 got it, thanks a million! 🙂🤘
I cant find the support group on facebook?? Please can you link it here.
The official support group is not on Facebook. forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
