- There is an updated version of this tutorial for 2024 that looks at Layers in LightBurn 1.4 and later versions. Please jump to that tutorial if you are new to LightBurn and are on a newer version than 0.6
• A fresh look at LightB...
In this tutorial we look at the use of layers in LightBurn and how they can be applied to your job.
* Please note that this video was done using LightBurn v 0.6.03 and as such may be slightly out of date as the software improves. Basic concepts will remain the same however. Thanks.
Layers provide the ability to perform multiple operations in a single job including order of operations and setup tasks.
One more reason LightBurn is quickly becoming a class leader in laser software - Наука
Dunno why your software hasn't gone ballistic... it's GREAT software and so well thought out!! I have nearly 40 years of computer graphics behind me and this is one of the most exciting things I've seen in all those years!! Thanks!
Excellent! Thank you so much for a nice tutorial!
Thanks for the info! New to laser cutters, but LightBurn seems to be pretty fantastic software.
Good stuff! Thanks for your efforts!! Jason
Thank for another great video
Thanks. I am a newbe in the laser world. I have learned a lot from you
It would be easier drag the layers up and down to adjust their order as in Photoshop etc. then changing the numbers to control the priority. It nice that when saying no to a layer that it dims out, but it dims out a lot. This program is top notch. Some incredible features.
Great tutorial
You are awesome! Thank you!
Briliant...Love the video. I use CorelDraw so I am new to learning Light Burn and trying to work with both of them since I am familar with how CorelDraw works so I am trying to learn Light Burn and the settings, such as power, frequncy, and speed is my struggle.
Did they get rid of "cut" mode? For some reason on my layers all I see if line, fill, and offset fill
Thanks again for this great instruction. Totally new to this, and you set me straight!
Thank you!
Thanks for the informative video! Appreciate your time.
very helpful
Nice Dude. TFS, G :)
From 4:15 you talk about order of priorities and change the priority using the Priority box. However; i don't have this priority box on my version of Lightburn. How to i change the laser priority?
Is there a way to auto pause/home laser between each layer?
Thank you! I was angry at layers. Now I’m not.😅
My layers don't print in order (ie 1 through 4). It prints the first layer and then stops. I have to select them manually. What am I missing? Thanks!!
cool
Can you engrave pictures?
Does the colour palette in lightburn have colour values? eg RGB or CMYK..... which I could then make matching values in my Ai palette
There wasn't at the time of this video, however I "think" that they made them compliant with one of the AI color pallets at some point. I'd have to go back through the release notes. It's been discussed quite a bit on the old facebook group or in the forums so you may get a more direct answer from there.
Just got this software. The cut pallet at the bottom of your screen in the tutorial isn't in mine. If I go to the windows menu to turn it on/off, nothing shows up.
Do you have user settings you could share..?
never mind :)
This helped
Is there any way to merge layers in LightBurn? If not that would be a handy feature
Yes. There is a merge button...I haven't started using my lightburn yet but I was it in another video.
Hi,
Could you tell me please, how can l see hidden layers ( SVG files) on Lightburn?
For example, there should be 7 layers but the programme only sees 5 (the layers been put on the top of each other, I've been told) Thank you in advance.
P.S it is layered mandala.
Good morning. I recommend directing any question to the LB Forum here: forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
There is great community support around this software and you'd probably get the best answer that way. Thank you.
Is there a way to select all of the object on the same layer ? Lightburn is such a great soft, but this feature might be very usefull
Hold Shift and click the layer in the Cuts/Layers window and it should select everything on the layer
@@thetinkerverse Thanks a lot for your time and answer. Lightburn is so nice to use, this is the first time I use such a good soft. Everything has been thought
How do you get a layer to assign to an image? They option for me is always grayed out.
What version are you on? I'm able to click an image and then select a layer to put it on, but it will always be an Image type.
@@thetinkerverse 1.5 as of today. I think I found out how. I have to created them as photo based on the layer with the setting I use.
How do you find the documentation for this software? Thanks
docs.lightburnsoftware.com/index.html
Where does the colorful menu open?
It's changed some between when I filmed this and now, but if you go to Window > Cut Pallet it should show up at the bottom.
@@thetinkerverse thank you
when u show to people how to use layers is best not to use also libraries that u didnt mention nothing about.
