We also stick a blow up mattress on it when using it as a bed which makes it rival any actual bed. If you have all those components already then this is a great deal
Man, it's designed for small spaces, and it's the cheapest sofa ever! It's so deep to be decorated by cushions and another thin mattress to your taste and budget. It's rediculous to compare it to other more expensive items. I've got beddinge and lixele sofa-beds at home, and i also have to buy extra cushions and top matrases for them to meet my needs. I saw it in Sweden and it's awesome for tiny spaces and when you're on a tough budget. I wish it was sold in Russia...
@@armink9686 hi Armin - I have enough space for the bed in my room if I move a few furnitures, which is no problem if someone is staying overnight at my place. However, normally I want to have my furniture at its place. To paint a clearer picture, I have a small table in the middle of my room, in front of the sofa. I use the sofa normally and can move the table and other things around it to make space for the sofa bed.
I implore you to recommend a better futon for the price. I also think its weird that you call it "absolute garbage" when you say its still pretty ok at being a bed? So it does at least half the job right.
If you compare this to a typical $500 sofa bed then of course this is rubbish. As far as I know this is sold at IKEA Australia for $120AUD which is the cheapest new sofa bed you can get. I'd say it's actually pretty decent
What are you talking about? Even if you pay $130 for a futon it should still be functional. He said he was 6' tall, and the couch was still too deep for people to sit on with back support. Who wants to sit on a couch with no back support. Then he shows how flimsy the cushion is. It looks like a prison mat in my opinion. Foam is VERY cheap and IKEA could have easily included lots of foam in the mat to make it comfortable. So, you have a couch with no cushion support (because they didn't put enough foam) and no back support (because they made it too deep). That equals garbage!
@@azlanazhar6536 I don't, I was looking into buying it for camping but it's not available in the USA. Like I said to others, it's 130 bucks! It not designed to be slept on everyday or to be comfortable. If you want it to be more comfortable, spend more money! You get what you pay for, period.
@@The22j That sounds great then - they sell a couch where it's supposed to be understood by the consumer that it's not to be used often and not to be comfortable. Sounds like garbage to me. You spend $130 and you get a garbage couch - that's pretty much what the review said. What's your issue.
That's the first thing I notice when I see this product... the deep seat... throw in two 55cm by 55cm throw pillows as a backrest (doubles as decor too) ... can probably be purchased at less then USD20 each (the throw pillows)... take away the throw pillows and u can snug feet up or crossed legged with ample space on the 'couch'...
That's an interesting point. I have been considering it as my apartment is very small, but while the too thin mattress and too deep sitting are quite fixable that is more of an issue. On the other hand I would not be using it as a bed except for guests, it would mostly be used as a sofa. What I have now is a fairly cheap chair bed which is uncomfortably narrow as a bed and I'd like a sofa, even if all I can fit in the place would be something about hammarn's size.
I have one and it's okay for a sofa if you add cushions but as a bed it's terrible. I can feel the frame digging into my back. You'd have to buy a thick mattress and use it with it to get any decent sleep on it.
Sofa can be made more comfortable with some pillows as a backrest and it could give a nice look to it as well. But the bed...it is definitely not for me. Even my cat could not stand the bed's movement as i was tossing and turning so he left and chose something more suitable for sleeping.
Your title is not respectful to IKEA designers. I understand you are trying to get attention and more 'seen' but I don't think it is a nice way to do that
it IS garbage. it’s very cheap and while it’s okay for the price, it is not a good piece of furniture if you like comfortable sofas or beds. we added cushions, mattress toppers, mattress in bed form, and it still sucks. it’s my least favourite piece of furniture in the house and i love sofas, but this hardly gets used because it’s so uncomfortable. dunno why there’s so many people simping for IKEA budget furniture. one of the metal fittings cut my bloody leg one night, and you can feel the metal and the hard board ALL THE TIME, even with a mattress topper. it SUCKS. if you value comfort but are on a budget, pay an extra 40€ for a better budget sofa bed

One of the best sofa for our family, we have one in my parents home, one in my brother home. Put two big pillow and we can sit comfortablely, without the pillow it is so uncomfortable
Yes It is best design of combined bed and sofa in one unit by using one side sofa and other side bed in any size from single to king but not sofa cum bed due to totally different cushion and base structure is used for sofa and bed that makes it bulky. It's drawback that you can use only low density foam in cushioning and mattress with limited thickness.
