I’ve been watching several of your videos - some for the second time but all were new to me initially. I like this channel because it gets straight into the mishap, delivers a good story and the non-narration makes a nice change at times as it concentrates wholly on the mishap, not the narrator. Regarding this incident, it’s hard to believe anyone survived much less everyone, particularly as the video showed a fireball. I expected a catastrophic loss of life.
I was thinking the same, the animation showed the plane basically exploded, which wasn't even close to what happened, I also thought all on board were dead, thankfully that was wrong
No matter the circumstances, errors or nefarious actions by the owners, there cannot be any justification for this kind of ‘event’ to happen! I’m so thankful that I am no longer a flight attendant anymore! I seriously questioned the abilities of many of my flight crews, mechanics and ground operation personnel during my tenure at SWA.
There may have been issues with flaps and trim. Since the flight crew had an interrupted checklist, and never completed it these were neglected. The lack of lift is consistent with lack of deployment of flaps.
Great video, as usual. I guess the lust for money caused the "owners" to pull some very shady things...shame on them. Happy no one was seriously injured in that crash. Thank you for uploading and sharing!!
This captain bears some of the responsibility in this occurrence. As Captain In Command it was his responsibility to ensure that the aircraft was neither overfueled or underfueled. I'm wondering if he faced any repercussions also...
I was there on my way to class in Teterboro when it went across the road and into the candy factory. Best think I remember is the local TV station interviewing a stoned Rasta who was in a car the plane went over on the road. Your depiction is completely wrong. I'm a retired C130 pilot. They rotated and just barely got off the ground. Their gear hit the fence on Hwy 46 and flew right into the building across the street missing the tops of cars by inches. There was no flip. There was no flames..
I am glad I didn't do business charters. Part 91 or 135. Most are legit operations but many are shady. As a new pilot taking the right seat- you don't know.
This plane has the fuel capacity to easily mess up the CG? Seems like that was not much passenger weight and seems they would not be particularly forward. They say overfueled, but how did this happen so easily. Manufactured with tanks that are only good for long flights with no one on board or not even flyable under those conditions? I also thought that, maybe especially for commercial flights, that you have to have enough runway to get to takeoff speed and be able to abort safely. Once again what happened?
Having enough runway assumes the aircraft’s weight and center of gravity are within limits for the airspeed that can be achieved for takeoff within the runway length. Once the aircraft exceeds V1, it has to attempt a takeoff… not enough runway to safely stop.
@@Primus54 That first sentence is already a known factor. And your second point is not always true, it depends on several factors. I am asking why this even came about if there was no safety factor allowed.
I agree, adding more fuel shouldn't alter the CG unless it has a faulty design where the fuel tanks' CG is not aligned with that of the airplane. It can be understood when unevenly distributed load of passengers or cargo offset the CG but not fuel!
@@helpful5539 I have never understood the merit of the V1, for one thing when the airplane's weight is increased both the V1 and Vr will accordingly increase, while the Vr is understandable however the V1 in the other hand should decrease, as a heavier airplane will need longer runway to stop if aborted at specific speed and thus less margin for safe abortion and longer gap between V1 and Vr. In the other hand for a lightly loaded airplane, the V1 may even be higher than Vr as you could still safely abort take off even past the rotation speed!

No mechanical issue, it was overweight and out of CG!
Fuelling and C of G are the Captain’s responsibility, not the airline owners.
18 months, Wow. These courts have to do better.

Happy new year Mauri! Looking forward to all the new vids in the future! ❤
Thanks, you too!

What a shame. A complete and unnecessary loss of a beautiful aircraft.
Amazing that none of that masonry entered the cockpit.
How do you know it didn't?
You can still see the new brickwork on that building.
Ah yes. The wonders of generative AI.
I was thinking about the hole and hey, that is a nice brick work.

Did you actually see them rotate? Because the report says there was no rotation.
And at 9:05, there is obvious evidence of fire damage
So, make your own video and make sure you get it absolutely right and perfect lest someone complain.

That’s correct, the airplane didn’t rotate for takeoff ie the nose wheel never left the runway
They hit a candy factory did you say? - wow that was a sweet ride!😂
Is this the real cockpit dashboard configuration of the Challenger 600?
The runways are the same length as LGA!
Pretty absurd that the prison sentences were so short. Probably in a club Fed too...

No take off flap set ? O shit - We r going in …
This was the airport that Us Airways flight 1549 was considering landing at.
ATC considered it, Sully knew that the Hudson was his only answer, bleed speed and flair on a smooth(relatively) river going in your direction.
I got my pilots license at TEB
if the plane was front heavy it could register on the nose gear if there were sensor device. Engineers, work on it.
We're are the pilots
They got deported!
Money changed hands? Sentences for the owners FAR Too lenient. How does that send a message to the sketchy operators?
