    I'm so glad recovery story privilege was mentioned and also the ignorance that some coaches/program creators have in regards to thinking that their modality/approach/program is the answer for everyone. I've noticed that some coaches/program creators have this blind spot. They heal and then think "oh my god, everyone just needs to do this too!", forgetting or not realising that there is no one size fits all approach to healing.

    I wonder if there is a gender influence on what programs resonate? For example, my husband carries some sense of shame around having this illness. He refuses to use a walking stick in public; he is sensitive to looking “weak.” Seems like we could make gender generalizations/factors -maybe some programs are more sensitive to what I’ll just call male ego. ?

      Well, taking care of silent inflammation or at least getting this checked is not a bad idea. If you have e.g. Neuralgia Inducing Cavitational Osteonecrosis (NICO) or another problem with your teeth, it can put unnecessary stress on your system. This not a consequence of your nervous system dysfunction.

    • @einbisschenwasvonjenem
      @einbisschenwasvonjenem 5 месяцев назад

      @@regina6838there seems to be also a connection with demyelination of nerves. There are several things that are mentioned and found until now on a physical scale, but apparently it is not yet enough to have something like a biomarker to proof that me cfs has in fact a biological component. Nevertheless I think some programs could be helpful. But I also think it could cause harm with pressure that everyone would recover if he only did the right mentality things.

    • @einbisschenwasvonjenem
      @einbisschenwasvonjenem 5 месяцев назад

      I think we also need a ton of research in a medical way. And yes some programs could be harmful by existence confirming this what some physicians believe: see, it's just in your head and psychological thing.

      @@einbisschenwasvonjenem I participated in a scientific presentation of research a couple of months ago. It's going to take decades for pharmaceuticals to be developed. If we wait for that many people will suffer. It's needs a balanced approach body and mind. My approach is oriental energy medicine and herbs and all things natural that don't have consequences for the body like pharmaceuticals have.

      LOL, but honestly, Lindsay is one of the most down to earth people I know. I never got a grad degree, but I think Lindsay's masters in public health is relevant, since she did her thesis on health program evaluation. She has previously worked in education, supporting youth, and public center mental health. I think her thesis involved both quantitative and qualitative data, so why she looks for evidence in programs and not only just her gut feels. It was nice working with her to make our guide because we balance each other out well (I never got a grad degree, but have lots of qualitative background.)

    • @dani88light
      @dani88light 5 месяцев назад +4

      I think she was mentioning her masters degree, because she was talking about how she is looking for science backed programs, and that with her background she very is science focused. Not everyone cares so much about the science backing, but she was explaining that it’s important to her, and so she looks for that. She wasn’t bragging in anyway.
