Bud, you didn't have to make a notch in your upper Glove, I just removed the USB, ran the wire through it, and them mounted it covering up the USB hole, no one hardly uses the USB in the glove box, now it looks stock.... Great Video Bud 👏👏👏👏👏
So I have a 2019 C7 and contacted infotainment company to get the io6 w/nav because my car came with the io5 wo/nav and they sent me one that was used out of a wrecked car with a note taped to it to NEVER let GM Flash or update the HMI module due to it would delete the nav data so I sent it back.. Tommy did you buy a NEW one from ACDELCO or was yours used as well???

I installed it but when it turns on it appears on the Screen “THEFT LOCKED” If i take it to the dealer to program it will it show up as Chevrolet MyLink?
Sorry I didn't see this comment earlier. Mine came out of a Escalade. The seller did his own reprogramming. I did assume that it was the same process that a dealer would have done. It did come up as Chevy MyLink. The only noticeable thing I had was when I paired it to my phone for Bluetooth, the connection said Escalade. Otherwise there was no issues.

I am not sure what that is. i thought the screen was a screen. I didn't update my screen, just used the stock 8in. Just needed the VIN number programmed into the module. Hope that helps.

In 2016 GM did a refresh from this 2014 model and then did a software update in late 2016. The basic process and hardware should be the same, just make sure you have it programmed to your specific VIN.
ali hassan I did this before Car Play was available. It's possible to add car play, but not with this install alone. They're other videos out there to look at for that.

Lawrence Schultz if you buy it from a business that does this kind of work, they should do it. If you buy from a private party, then your local GM dealer can do it for a fee. Please check before you buy.
Yes, the module needs to be programmed with the VIN. Any GM dealership and/or most providers of this part can do that. The company I bought this from on Ebay did it for me.

put antenna under the upper cover by the front dash speaker just pops up and there is a channel to pass the wire through.

Yes mine was used. Came out of an Escalade. Never gave me any issues. The only weird thing was when I BT, it went to an Escalade.

Antonio Duarte it should be the same part numbers my IO6 came out of an Escalade. It just needs to be programmed

how much they charge you the dealer for put the vin number?
Each dealer has their own pricing structure. I have heard in the past some charge around $100. Best to call your local dealer to find out.

No, this module was done before that came out. I would imagine there may be some new options to do that now, this video was done some years ago.

Everything works great. Just need to tell XM (if you use it) to bypass the original factory settings in their system to get the full XM functionality.

Hi Tommy...my dealer is telling they can't program the module unless its in the vehicle. They then asked me for my VIN and module SN to get a quote.
