When Pastor Ed was talking about structure and order, and that structure coming from God, for me, I think of that structure as being God's design laws which bring about order to chaos. The laws of the land are an attempt to be a mirror of God's design laws and bring about the structure and order that the design laws naturally evoke. They imperfectly provide structure to those who are at lower levels of spiritual development, and for whom God's design laws are not yet written on their hearts. (Acknowledging that the laws of the land are written by sinful humans, and are corrupted by the very power structures they were meant to control,) but until God's kingdom comes, laws of the land will be necessary for those at lower levels of spiritual development who do not yet have God's law written on their hearts.
