When I started in the early 1980s, for tennage budget, it was mostly Lawsuit Les Pauls and strat replicas, all but a few brands like Aria Pro were junk. My first real professional guitar, which I still have, is a 1985 Fender Stratocaster HSS. Amazing guitar - I was 17 and it followed me all over the world and has millions of hours on it. It's still my #1 HSS Guitar. That's a great, simple guitar, well made and that one was manufactured from 2007-2009, the new SE models are supposed to be even better! I have a PRS Core Singlecut Semi-Hollow 594 and a US Silver Sky, but I always wanted an SE One - replacement for my 1961 LP Jr I sold (for the $$$$).
That’s not as much of an increase as you may think. $400 in 2005 is $630 today. I believe the Mexican fenders go for $800 now so you’re really talking about a 27% increase not a doubling in price.
@Jschultz1623 Thats my point, is the USA guitars have dramatically gone up, also a Gibson Les Paul Custom was around $2,000 even back then but now is around $6,000. Its craziness !
I think I’m going to start looking for one of these. Currently have a silver sky se and a McCarty se and I pretty much always use the bridge pickup on both… I think I’d really get along with this axe
modern CNC machines are a godsend. i can recall having to remember where the dead spots were on each guitar. the electronics still suck, but the metrics? spot-on.
Hell yeah they are. I just picked up one of the Indonesian made EVH Wolfgang Standard. Comes with the Standard Wolfgang pickups that sound great. put a brass block on the floyd rose special with some steel saddles and it rips.
Squier guitars used to suck. However, some of the new ones are excellent instruments. It's beautiful what's happening with the quality of inexpensive guitars nowadays.
The intro got me. Tasty!! Subscribed
Thank you so much!!
I have the Korina SE one with the Bird inlays, it’s a killer guitar

While they are better, lets keep in mind that in 2005 you could get a mexican Nashville tele for $400 and an american Nashville tele for $840.
Yeah price of everything is jumped way up

@Jschultz1623 Yes but to get a Tele similar to the American Nashville Tele youll spend about $4,000
@@guitarandotherthings6090 True. I’ll never understand spending 4 grand on a guitar like that, it’s just bonkers.

It really is a great time to get a quality instrument for under 1K. Godin is another great company that isn't all overseas.
For sure!
