"Buy what you can afford as long as it inspires you to create music." Truer words have never been spoken.

Is a Friedman or a Bogner a better amp than an old school Line6 Spider? Unquestionably. Does that matter to a 17 year old with a part-time job making minimum wage? Not really. 🤷‍♂️

Great video! Honestly... the 5150III with Overdrive sounds badass!

It's a fantastic sounding amp. Probably my most "modern" and refined sounding amp. Definitely the best deal I ever got on an amp, by far.

Cool comparison! From a listener perspective its just splitting hairs, really. From a players feel perspective, that's a different thing, and that's subjective, and changes over time. But that's the fun of geeking out on gear, it never ends! It keeps us busy. I will add I think the Bugera does damn good for the price point. I have never owned or played one, but from these videos it's evident. Great video - new sub!

Yes, realistically most listeners will NEVER be able to hear any kind of difference in a mix, and these sorts of differences are very subjective. But going down these kinds of rabbit holes is a big part of the fun of guitar gear. 😁

You know I'm not big on supersaturated tones or cheap amps, but the Bugera seems to hold it's own nicely. I'm not big on boost pedals either, but I could definitely hear the extra bit of cut that the DS provides when properly applied!

I think the super saturated tones have their place. They're not my main go-to sound, but if I'm riffing on something heavier like this song, then they work. Bugera doesn't have the greatest reputation, and deservedly so in certain aspects, but this amp does sound good for that "modern" metal tone.

@@mikelovesguitars402 I mean, you know I love me some gain, but there's places on those "block logo" heads that no man should go 👹

Yes I hear a difference. you get what you pay for. also sometimes you get what you can afford. for myself, i'm still doing it with a marshall. good content.

Thanks! Nothing wrong with doing it with a Marshall. Eddie did it with a modded Marshall for YEARS. And his Frankenstein was a patched together pile of parts on a factory second that he "routed out" with a chisel and a hammer. Sometimes the whole is far greater than the sum of its parts. 🤷‍♂
