I lived in blok 45 during my break from Canada in 2022. What an awesome life I had there. Renting newly renovated 1br for only 200 euros, 9 meters long balcony overlooking the river.
You’ve completely won me over now. I was about to leave your channel, but visiting "Block 45" … is something you simply cannot skip if you want to showcase the true face of Belgrade. I lived there from 1974 for 28 years (I was born in 1971) so from the very beginning, and I can tell you - it was a crazy yet very special childhood, full of unique experiences and lessons. At the time, there was a Radio Club and a bunch of people with CB radios, which was one of the ways to communicate back then, long before the internet was invented. Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s emotional for me, though of course, there are some new kids there now!
Living in the USA, but this is the area where I plan on retiring in. This is the part of Belgrade that has changed the least since the 80's, when I was a kid running around. The cars and playgrounds are new, but the place kept the same vibe.
Glad you've decided to visit The Sava Bloks. I am also glad you visited Blok 44, even tho you just went to the Blok 44 Geen Market. It's the nicest one in Belgrade.
Seeing Po'Jo at block 45 is such a crazy sight! Po'Jo had only seen a fraction of block 45 and would be great to see him there again in the summer time or spring! I have also had pomegranate juice before and it is very healthy! Great video!
It's quite interesting in Belgrade. Mix of everything. A mix suiting everyone. An other interesting thing is that people born and raised in Belgrade would never volentarily move to New Belgrade. Once upon the time, not that long ago, and still present deep in our minds, is the fact that the territory where New Belgeade is was controlled by our enemy, Austria-Hungary empire, collapsed 1918. Therefore you can still hear "never cross the river".
Trinidad carnival will b on March 3rd + 4th. Nuff said..imma leave the rest up 2u bro. Still checkin out your adventures. Big up New Belgrade NBG/Block 45 for "..always siding with the under dogs." Be safe as usual. Love from Trinidad + Tobago..#Pojo #Bun-up
Now, when you see and felt a lot of Balkans especially Belgrade, time to see movie named “Underground”. I believe you can find it on RUclips with English translation.
In summer, you can take a boat from Ada Ciganliija to NBG for like 50 dinars for 3 mins ride, and take a bicycle with you, and avoid all the traffic, using just cycling paths.
Thank you for visiting Block 45 and New Belgrade; that's a different side of Belgrade that your colleagues often don't showcase. This is where ordinary people live-working-class folks, friendly neighbors. You should come in the summer; it gets lively and beautiful. Belgrade isn't just the Waterfront, Knez Mihailova, and Kalemegdan-you need a bit more time to explore it properly.
Hey Po'Jo it's great to see you back in Serbia. May I suggest that you relocate to Serbia for 12 months and make it your home base from which to see the rest of Europe, that'll give you a good perspective on the place. As I'm sure you're aware by now, the Serbs judge a man by his character, not the color of his skin and they seem to really like you and you them.
You should visit block 1 and block 37 because i lived there in my childhood and they got a LOT of good stuff there. Near block 37 where is block 33 in block 33 there is a bakery with SO GOOD bureks! You should try other stuff in there beacuse it is my childhood bakery and i still can remeber how it looks! Also in block 1 there is a mcdonalds and you can remeber some good old American food and also idk if they have somthing diffrent but you can see! Also the mcdonalds is my childhood thing also. Im from Serbia so enjoy in Serbia while you can! :D
Number names of the blocks in New Belgrade and the "logic" behind them make no sense to anyone. Some people even joked that they are made rhat way to "decieve the enemy" or something. 😮
Glad you're enjoying the Balkans! A big hello and respect for you from Croatia.

There are all kinds of things in Belgrade, both cheap and expensive, tame and wild, it's like a mix
Nice tour and the wall art was amazing. I wonder if the American musicians are aware that their image is posted on a building wall in Serbia.

Illegal (kafanas, taxis, etc in the balkans) means unregistered/bootleg, just lost in translation
Ahh okay thanks for this clarification
