- Here we link up with Ben for kingfish redemption. After hooking up to a few Coromandel kingfish on our last mission that evaded the net, we had to come back for round two. This time we came prepared with our heavy set-ups ready for action. The kings didn't disappoint, with a grand total of eight fish being caught over the two days.

Fishing’s all about getting out there, whether if not you catch. You’re right tho, NZ kings are pretty manic. Should definitely try get across the border, there is heaps of opportunity for good fish here.

Supposedly they’re running in harbours now until mid jan. just gotta find a nice wharf and hit it on the slack to outgoing. That’s what we’ve found works best

I do it through the bottom jaw, but you can catch kings on dead piper too.
