President Macron hoped to clear the air with his shock dissolution of parliament but after the far-right’s unprecedented surge and so many unholy alliances and tactical withdrawals ahead of the runoffs, good luck predicting the makeup of the next National Assembly.

It should be allowed in instances where a person is disabled, feeble, or in jail. Not allowing criminals to vote, discourages so many others not to vote. Criminals need to be forced to vote, if they refuse, they get an extra 3 months added to their sentence for unpatriotism.

Politicians can't force Corporations, which make billions in profit, to pay decent wages...But they can force an entire nation to work for a pittance wage...WOW
It doesn't matter how much you increase the wage, but what matters is inflation. When businesses get taxed more, they put that on the cost of goods and service. You need to reduce the energy tax and other taxes to reduce the price of food and other goods. They need to focus on reducing the cost of living by reducing the cost of doing business.

@@maple-leafs13 They've been getting taxed less and less for 4 decades, yet they still raise prices without increasing wages until recently. They don't have to raise prices, they can also cut their own salaries, which they won't because they want to be the new aristocracy.

"Hard right" is un-(politically) scientific terminology (sometimes) used by (political) pundits, to describe the far-right (of the political spectrum).
What nobody ever says is that multiculturalism of France and Great Britain has a longer history than just modern globalisation. These are two former colonial powers that introduced multiculturalism long before it was cool.
Colonialism isn't mûticulturalism, France and Britain weren't multicultural until the 2000s or even the 2010s... If you exclude the cities growing like cancer then they aren't multicultural to this day.

Investigating one party and finding unsavoury history of a few candidates or supporters in NO way undermines voting for a party which has the best policies. It's underhand. @jaisriram295 If the left govern, they'll have a parliamentary victory in the following election. What were the French most angry about in the past years, their pensions, which is a left position. The right loves leaving people destitute handing all the money to billionaires or selling to American venture capitalists, and then blaming it all on immigrants. Rinse, repeat. That's how the UK got suckered into leaving the EU, and now 30% of their economy belong to Americans who take all of that capital back to the States. Europeans are spending so much time worrying about immigration from their former colonies that they're now being colonized by the venture capitalists.
Not that immigration isn't an issue, but their issues did not begin there. It was a house of cards that were always ready to fall.

We don't really get the full view in English because the RN does not have many English speaking members. They really aren't connected to political movements outside of France.
He's right when it comes to Russian thinking. They won't endorse the people they actually want to win because they know an open Russian endorsement could harm candidates in countries not friendly to Russia. So they use that against their opponents by endorsing their opponents. It's a tactice they've been using for decades long before the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. I'm surprised no one else has picked up on this.
But because most people haven't picked up on it, it continues to work.

I don't get to vote in the French election but I would be very upset if two parties sought to limit my democratic choices by engaging in skullduggery and horse trading. I would vote against them and for a right leaning party out of spite.
The voting system has been in place for a long time. There's nothing more shocking about it now, than there was in previous decades. In a country where there are multiple political parties from far left to far right, the 2-rounds system keeps the extremes at bay. You're unhappy now, because the far right gets limited, but keep in mind that the far left is also kept in check by this system. France was and still is a political breeding ground for political extremists, which is why during the French Revolution, an estimated 3.5M French were killed/murdered.
