actually i have to correct you: a coping mechanism is a method to cope with things like trauma or mental disorders (for example ptsd, ocd, etc) its absolutely not about not wanting to deal with things, its being unable to deal with something at all, and thus needing a way to handle the feelings that arent going away.
yeah no, coping methods are very different to avoidance, which I do both of. avoidance for me basically makes the feelings go away, until they hit me 10× harder and then I'm going into a crisis. coping, it basically just helps be able to take the feelings, they don't go away, they become bearable. JoJo is probably doing both, probably more so avoiding because drinking is one of the most understood and sadly accepted avoidance methods.

I was doing some client work while letting this play. I feel so sorry for Jojo ngl, shes been used all her life and while that doesnt excuse her behaviour as an adult, I hope she gets seperated from the people around her and gets some real advice and friends.
actually i have to correct you: a coping mechanism is a method to cope with things like trauma or mental disorders (for example ptsd, ocd, etc)
its absolutely not about not wanting to deal with things, its being unable to deal with something at all, and thus needing a way to handle the feelings that arent going away.
yeah no, coping methods are very different to avoidance, which I do both of. avoidance for me basically makes the feelings go away, until they hit me 10× harder and then I'm going into a crisis. coping, it basically just helps be able to take the feelings, they don't go away, they become bearable. JoJo is probably doing both, probably more so avoiding because drinking is one of the most understood and sadly accepted avoidance methods.
@@FluffyMarsu agreed! Her coping mechanisms are definitely unhealthy and she's definitely also avoiding the issue. There might also be some dissociation going on.
@@TheRPGNerd oh definitely dissociation going on, I struggle with that a lot with my avoidance (like avoiding letting a cherished pets passing sink in for me by maladaptive daydreaming) hers are definitely extremely unhealthy sadly and her drinking seems like its becoming an issue, which is sad :( i think she's trying to dissociate from everything that happened to her and is using alcohol to stay in like a different reality if that makes sense? It's just so sad because when she comes out of that reality she won't be able to handle it without those unhealthy methods :(

@cocacola5111 Pride is insanely important to kids. Living in a horribly homophobic home at the time, going to pride probably saved my life. That's a huge statement to make, sure. But I believe it's true!
Kink is VERY important to pride though, second oldest pride flag is the leather flag, most pride parades are going to be seckshual. Obviously, not all pride parades are seckshual, but it’s not a great idea for anyone under the age of 13 to go to most of them.
That being said, I still think what jojo did was gross. She actively acknowledged that there were children watching her, yet did that. And there’s a huge difference between a grown woman wearing an empty strap on or pasties vs literally getting down to it on stage while having actively mentioned how kids are in the crowd.
@Vampyroteou I mentioned that as long as it ISNT sexual. He put child friendly pride in quotation, insinuating it isn't okay still. Most people I know disagrees with kink at pride anyways. Pride shouldn't be explicitly adult at all. Only a few 18+ events.

People into kink were shunned much like queer people, often times crossing over. Both deemed sexual deviants by society for their harmless interests.
