On Saturday 30 March 1996 46229 worked the East Lancs Railway's 'Trans Pennine Express' bound for Scarborough.
The route was Preston - Manchester Victoria - Diggle - Leeds - York - Scarborough - York.
The vigorous departure from Preston was videoed about 1 mile south of the station.
The 'Duchess' was next seen between Mossley and Greenfield on the climb to Diggle.
We then headed to the S&C to video 46203 on a southbound 'Cumbrian Mountain Express'.
