My husband and I bought a house in Cleveland. He loves Ohio. I’m not a fan but nonetheless agreed to move there. I only stayed 3 months but I was able to see a lot of old beautiful mansions and churches. I can appreciate the beauty of older buildings and the history.
I’m living in Lakewood eight years , I love it on a condo on the water, I also like the amenities in Lakewood and the diversity of the people ,there is some crime ,but I don’t find it horrendous by any means, I find the police extremely attentive, there’s some absolutely beautiful places in Lakewood and the people I have met have been great, I like the quick access to downtown as well as the highways if you’re leaving. No complaints about lakewood at all.
I lived in lakewood for years. I loved it. I once called the police because some drunks were messing with cars and 5 police responded in less than 10 minutes 😆
Lakewood was very nice to live in. I spent 12 yrs on Lake Ave in a highrise apt. it was lovely for a single man. Plenty to do, and the revamp of Egdewater Park, it has been heaven. As for a family, its hell. Parking sux, the school is at Cleveland Public levels, and can't even take your kid to the Art festival over on Warren/Detroit because of drama. The influx of low income earners from Cleveland getting section 8 vouchers and what they bring with them is more drama. Lakewood, was nice and especially if you have a kid at St. Edwards...but I rather move the family across the river and enjoy the luxuries of Rocky River.
@@kimberlykovach6236 Strongsville still has about 30 years to go. I live in there now, and one of the things I measure is the school system, the demographics, and and new developments. Strongsville is ok in my book.
I was born and raised in Lakewood. Very few renters. Would I move back? Nope! The Shaker Heights taxes are the highest? I beg to differ. Try Strongsville taxes! It used to be a gated community but not anymore.
I can’t agree with any of this foolishness. We live in a urban area so…therefore, will have some urban issues. Diversity is what makes Cleveland,,,,,Cleveland. If people want to live in a non-urban, non renter area then they need to move to New Hampshirite. All these communities mentioned bring great things to the table and have great people. I’ve lived all over the USA and overseas and can safely say, Cleveland and it’s burbs, are a great place to live. Bad apples in every city…even here in Westlake.
i knew enough about cleveland to vacate a long time ago ,had a house in lakewood ,yeah the basement was musty ,a gf in parma and i liked parma ,older suberb well kept ,did a lot of contracting work in shaker hts . did not like it very run down for such a hi tax area i agree
Lakewood .. high car jacking rate as the thugs know it's a highly liberal anti gun city . 50% renters means lots of section 8 , no basement is dry in Ohio ... Parma is pretty compact I agree but still pretty nice and clean without much riff raff .. Shaker is historic but demographic shifts have destroyed the city , crime thru roof and no easy access off highway , gotta drive thru the ghetto to get there , Shaker also has huge Jewish population, if your family isn't from there you're looked at as a Beverly hillbillies in the nicer parts away from Shaker Square . Just my opinion
Been living in Lakewood eight years, I love it I don’t find it to be anything near the negative qualities you pick out, but then again your comments basically come from someone moving farther out in the suburbs it seems, I like the fact that people don’t need to feel you need to be running around with a gun attached to your hip and that it’s liberal. Not a lot of Trumper’s in Lakewood, that’s just fine with me.

You wouldn't move back because the blacks moved in ,Right?
Wow, you just named my top 3 favorite Cleveland Suburbs.
Olmsted Falls, Rocky River and Westlake are way better than them.
I guess we should buy in East Cleveland instead.
😂😂😂
So basically you are saying if you are a renter you are a worthless scumbag? Not everyone wants or has the means to buy a house
Not a worthless scumbag. Just a scumbag. Don't be so hard on yourself.
What used to be called “steering”?
Always Love hearing that intro music… like hearing angels sing
Why no mention of East Cleveland?
Maybe because East Cleveland is going through gentrification
Probably because no one working with the lady would even be considering East Cleveland in the first place
Keep up the good work Rene!
What ugh narrow drive waves! Where will my kids play?
Shaker Height is beautiful but mega expensive.
Hey there Rene! Out sewer lines are just fine! Okay
So many great things about the Cleveland Area and yet there is always going to be some downfalls in every community.
That's so real and true. Thank you for posting this video on You Tube.

Lots of code words in this video. Wonder how fair housing would feel about this video

You’re right. Suburbs been going downhill since 2000. Bad stuff not publicized completely. We all all aware what the reasons are.
Why did you bring up the Jews? Wtf
You seem antisemitic. Rene would not put up with this. You don’t Deserve Cleveland if you do you deserve shaker heights
@@dancindavey1515 is that a dog whistle I hear….?
