The SD-WAN/SD-Access Section on CBT is kicking. My. A**!! lol It's really getting me down, It's taking me some time to get through but I'm trying to have fun with it.
I'm currently studying for the CCNP and I completely relate to his feeling of being burnt out, so I completely relate to this vid. It's nice to know I'm not alone. Thanks so much for posting man, you're motivating people more than you know :)
Congrats, I know it was a while ago! My co-worker just took the ENCOR exam this past Monday and passed it. He says it was brutally hard. Watched him study at work everyday, all day and he studied all weekend for 3 months straight. He did use BOSON also for doing all the LABs which helped him a lot as well using both the NET/EX Sims by BOSON. I was his biggest cheerleader. Now I’m 1 month out to taking the CCNA test myself.
May I ask how did your CCNA go? And what line of work your buddy is in now? And if I'm being extra nosey, what sort of qualifications do you need in order to get a job in networking?
It's crazy to come back to this. At this point in my career I am considering getting my ccnp. You're always there Buff Nerd, thanks for these videos. Got my Cisco cyberops and Sec+ btw 😄 Hope you are well man.
Congrats on passing the CCNP Encor. Stay on the path of the CCNP. I had 2 (R/S and Security) before I let them lapse in 2019. CCNP is super beneficial, you won't regret it. If you happen to slip up, it's aight. I failed my CCNP Route once and my CCNP TSHOOT once. Happens to the best of us. Keep it goin!
Great insight. Just started my journey in Network Admin. Taking intro to networking and Linux for cyber security. Covid sucks...had it too. Glad you're healthy and well again. Keep the vids coming!
I just passed the ccna and security + and completely agree it’s the studying that is the hardest part. The exam itself while tough is nothing compared to the preparation you go through. I’m now in that stage on deciding which path to take. Great video I completely relate with the burn out factor too!
Congrats man. Its been amazing following ur journey. I was able to get my Net+ and CCNA a couple months ago. I am currently working on getting my ccna cyber ops and security+. You are a huge inspiration. Keep it up man.
Great bro, I'm very happy for you, I can relate with ur study pressure narrative, as I've been preparing for my CCNA for almost 4 months now, (about 6-7 hours daily), which sounds like overkill but I'm a bit jittery i'll fail it at my first attempt so, I'm trying to over prepare, cos CCNP Encor is my next stop, in fact, I've gotten the books already (lols) I finally have my exam next week. You are an inspiration. Wish me luck!. (I'll update you soon...)
Congrats man! I totally hear you about pivoting or not. I earned my CISSP and am mostly hands off on keyboard, and I bombed design. I have a CCNP test coming up tomorrow that I fear I may bomb too... only 2 1/2 months to study so far, but the test is covered by my employer. Like you, not much SD-WAN/Access in my environment. Keep kicking butt and raising your game!
I've been watching your videos for a while now. I recently have redone my A+ and I'm currently doing my N+ and CCNA. I've miraculously just had a network admin job fall in my lap and I'm grabbing this opportunity with both hands. You inspired me to get my certifications and so far it's been one hell of a ride and now I'm so much closer to being a network engineer. Thank you.
I have my CCNA, which I got a year ago. Now, in starting my CCNP studies. Im doing bout 1-2 hours a day besides Friday. I started this month, yet whew ik this gone take some months! 😩So, ready for the ending!
Good shit brother! LFG. Just passed Sec+, studying for CCNA currently. Not sure if I want CCNP next, but this videos give great insight and I appreciate you sharing.
Did you have any labs to make yourself in GNS3 or Eve-ng from the CBT nuggets course? Wondering if I should just buy a CML license and get it over with.... just easier to import labs.
Congrats on passing your encore, mate. By the way can somebody share their two cents on this? If i don't have a job in networking right now, is it worth doing CCNP? I mean I passed my CCNA recently but every job posting I've looked at seem to be asking for a lot like mplas, BGP or is-is knowledge which aren't covered in the CCNA and even python and Linux.
Bro, thank you fro these vids. I'm not really seeing many other videos out there about personal CCNP experience, so I appreciate it. 2nd, where did you find your actual test score at?! I took my CCNA, and passed, but I was never given an actual score. When I talked to Cisco, they said they were not giving out scores anymore as it caused too much "I'm better than you" type of mentality.
A year ? Wow, for i thought i could do it in 3 months. 😅guess CCNA lied to me, since i was able to do it in a month. Really have to get this knowledge and Cert, wish me luck. Hopefully i come back with good news in the next 6 months.
Can confirm this video is outdated. There are labs now and they are time consuming. Additionally, the exam leans into automation more than other subjects. The exam reflects the concepts listed, but one requires a very solid understanding of the topics rather than merely being able to interpret, compare, or describe them.
I’m working on becoming a network admin. Looking to get started in a help desk role while I study but I want to get some hands on experience. What can I do in a home lab setting to get some relevant experience. I’m looking to use physical hardware opposed to VMs. Anything you can provide helps, I’m new to this and I’m lost
Impressive bra, congrats👏. I felt the brain drain fatigue when doing my ccna too,am aiming for ccnp this year its my 2nd day of studying and already got dejavu 🙃 . Have Got a question, on the cisco website it says u gota write 2 exams to pass the ccnp encor, did you write both on the same day ?
For the ENCOR certification there is only 1 exam. About 100 questions. Now in order to get the complete CCNP enterprise you have to pass both the ENCOR and a concentration certification.
True! You have to seriously dedicate yourself to studying the book and also using courses like CBTnuggets to back things up and keep things interesting.

I'm transitioning from being a health coach/trainer to network engineering. These videos are great for a confidence boost. Nice job

Love this video. I started my CCNP studying 2 weeks ago and listening to your journey really motivated me to do this. Thank you!
Update? Did you pass? What cert is next?

Nice job man! You are fast becoming my role model. I will go for CCNP this year. Cant wait to see what else you accomplish in future.

Just curious why tf would you EVER redo an A+? If you already have an IT position and experience the A+ isn't even needed.
Any update?

Congratulations and all the best on your networking journey.

Thank you so much for making this video, are you going to continue with enarsi?
I got the Wireless design concentration instead of enarsi.
Congrats man!!

get a few standard routers and switches. Ebay has some good cheap options.

But im sure you will knock it out! Keep grinding!
@@TheBuffNerd7539 thanks! I hope u can do it. My internship will have access to cbtnuggets and so forth so I hope to deep dive soon.
@@Reason_over_Dogma thats an amazing resource! Leverage it to the best of your ability!
thank you for this content! Do you remember how many questions were on the exam?
about 100 questions.
What exam dump did you use?
I don’t use dumps.
How do you study with a full time job? You getting alot of hours in after or before work?
I study during down time at work and sometimes before work. It’s not consistent. I stick to it maybe 70% if the time.
Do 25 min pomodors
how many months it take for ccnp?
😮💨 I’m still working on completing it.
The CCNP Encor took me a year.
The second half I’m working on passing now.
So you basically self studied. You didn't go to those technical schools?
For the CCNP YES. All self study
@@TheBuffNerd7539 much respect! Love your video's. I am watching your video's to curve out a path for me.
What do you think INE or cbt ?
I've always used CBT, never gave INE a go. How is it?
@@TheBuffNerd7539 It's quite good actually, lots of practice and theory. I don't know about CBT Nuggets how is it maybe you can tell
