Trying to register for the ENCOR 305-401 online and paying with VISA but it's showing "this payment option is not available": Which is the prefered online payment method as even Cisco didn't make mention of the appropriate online exam purchase payment method!!

I just passed ENCOR this morning. I can confirm with what you are saying. The exam is relatively easy. Some topics are a little challenging. It all depends on how much you prepare yourself. I agree with the training. I did videos, exam prep questions, book and then labs. I will be focusing on ENARSI next, then DEVNET professional. And then onto the CCIE.

I hear you, I failed NP Switch 3 times before passing which is supposed to be the easiest. So for the overall gist I'm getting is Encore is blend of the previous NAs -R/S, Sec, Da ect.. All the practice questions don't seem very high level.

I know I'm a bit late to the party here but congrats Knox!
I've got my ENCOR exam booked for 22/04/2022 and let's just say the BOSON exams have given me a bit of a shock... There seems to be quite a lot in there which I don't recall being mentioned in CBT.
My method is also CBT with notes, then book (also with notes to fill in any gaps), then repeat CBT labs and study every question / answer explanation in the BOSON exams.
Really hope I have time to get it together! I'm skipping the OCG and going with "31 Days" instead. Still got 2 3rds of the book to get through then onto the labs.
    Fingers crossed.

Glad you passed! I read a blog by Kevin Wallace (the author of the last CCNP Troubleshoot OCG) and he took the TSHOOT and failed - what does that say about the previous exams :)
Being a content creator doesn't guarantee you can think like a cisco test writer.
I've also had issues with the new OCG's first edition having errors and having to dual read it + errata + RFCs and "war stories" to make sure I'm getting the right info. You've at least sold me on a month of CBT nuggets.

    • @DataKnox

I can’t speak for other creators - just for myself. My main “purpose” in content creation has always been centered on learning the core functionality so you can do it in the real world. I’ve never liked trivia questions personally. I think that’s why I enjoyed the DevNet exams so much. They were the most real world oriented exams I’ve seen

Automation, LISP, VXLAN, and DNA Center are entirely new as is some of the Wireless material. QoS and Multicast I have some exposure to from the CCIEv5 OCG (I had intended to pursue CCIE after CCNP but my career took me another direction). Does the exam go very in depth with this new material (Automation, LISP, VXLAN, DNA Center, QoS, and Multicast)?

    Hi all,
I have CCNP R&S certification and it expires soon. My understanding is if you I want to take only one exam to recertificate Encore is the one. But apparently if it expires, you only need Encore plus one concentration exam. Is this ok? If I cannot make it for the deadline, it doesn’t look this dramatic because you need to pass only two exams, instead of passing CCNA first and then the old 3 Routing, Swithching and Torubleshooting. Is it right?
    Thank you.

I took the exam today and boy was I disappointed. I feel that no one is really honest about how the exam is. My score was 810 and I failed and I kinda wasted 400 Euros on an exam that I would never pass no matter what imo. The OCG, CBT Nuggets and Linkd +4 months of studying almost 6 hours a day, were not enough for the amount of off topic questions that I had no idea what they are talking about (Like 4 XML questions and here I was trying to learn python and Jason). Did I learn something the last 4 months, YES! Will I ever take the exam again, never, because it doesn't make sense financially and I am very disappointed from that. I will keep on learning new stuff from Cisco related tecnologies but I guess I kinda gave up on certification and it would be a waste of time trying to relearn the same stuff again, while I can improve myself in different fields that would directly correlate to my work and real jobs and not memorizing the sevirity codes, which I did btw, but I find it a useless and a waste of time. Rant over :D

Good question! I do ALL the Nuggets first, then read ALL the book. Then labs and practice exams kind of happen at the same time. Like MPLS L3 VPNs - so many technologies and commands happening at once that I needed to lab it before moving on to the next thing

Seeing this makes me feel like a bit of an imposter. I finished my CCNA in August last year, then as soon as the Certpocalypse was announced, got back in the books and managed to complete the CCNP ROUTE, SWITCH AND TSHOOT by February to gain the CCNP R&S Cert and obtain the new ENCOR & ENARSI as a plus. Now i'm starting to work with some of the technologies that I never learned, but i'm apparently certified for, like Wireless, SD-WAN, Automation, even just IPSec tunnels.
From watching this, I've decided to close the gap by going back to the ENCOR and ENARSI to get up to speed.

There should be a practice exam with the course, I think. I would recommend reaching out to Learner Support to confirm!

    Great video Knox.
Without violating the NDA, how similar are the boson questions to the exam questions? I've done the encor course work, currently doing the boson exams.

You may have already answered this..Im curious to see what you do once you pass all of the specialty exams. WIll you then just start labbing all the technologies over more in depth to prepare for the CCIE LAB?

Hello there! My question is how long would you estimate it should take to finish the CCNP ENCOR Exam? I'm a full time NE and father.
