I was worried that the PS3 version of the game would have performance and framerate issues as these multiplatform games tend to have on the PS3, but this looks great. Definite buy for me.
I know how fun it can be to be able to customize your car. But if you think about, now adays, many of the sports cars aren't the type of "Suped-up" ones. They are the mercedez, the porsche, ferarri etc. And you don't see a lot of these cars being customized... they are just there. If you look at the game, and see how they've made changes, it can be a really fun game.
All the PS3 got is the "PS2 Classics" version on PSN...which is just a ps2 port. I think it got pulled off PSN but you can still buy a code for it at gamestop (for now) for the low-low price of $29.99(!)
+16bitSteve Because there was never a "port" per se done of that game. The 360 got one simply because the console came out a year earlier than PS3 and around the same time Most Wanted came for all consoles.
It looks a bit too easy to take down the opposition in that last race... I'm still really hyped to get this game though, cant wait! Good job criterion, hope it plays this well on my vita :)
I agree, playing nfs underground 2 was some of my most fun gaming life, but criterion is listening to consumers, I talk to my friends, who either aren't hardcore gamers or aren't hardcore racing gamers, and they actually like the idea of picking up any care and racing, I enjoy the customization, but I just picked up most wanted earlier today, and will enjoy it, mainly because of the fun car racing, and hot pursuit car chases.

This game will never be as good as the original most wanted and infact I still play the old one till this day and had it when it came out in 2005 for ps2. I heard baba oriley by the who in the background
The game seems great and I'll probablly pick it up, but the thing that dissapoints me the most is the shadows. Like Criterion game's Hot Pursuit game, this game has the shadows moving artificially. A great example is 3:36 - Look at the right side of the screen for a few seconds. This damages the gameplay experience IMO.
in this game u can custumize ur body they have body kits u can make ur car faster ir stronger u can have reevating tires jus in case u run over a spike strip
That's the compromise for not buying new. If you're not contributing to the developer with a new purchase you pay a nominal fee to help maintain the online infrastructure. And EA aren't the only one's to do it.
Well I hope it is a good game of course for the buyers. I just personally think they couldve kept hot pursuit as the nfs/burnout "symbiote" project as it was very good and leave the other need for speeds as a ea only affair. Nfsu-nfsmw had near perfect gameplay before as did the earlier and new burnouts. It was two different games for two different audiences which they seem to now be squeezing into one. Idk hope you guys enjoy though,happy gaming.

I thought that choosing any car sucks but getting any car turned out well, really
well the chameleon engine can do that as well especially on pc but frostbite 2 on the run for pc looked the same as the console because black box ported it. pc version of most wanted's graphics are totally different from the consoles
well, if you look at gameplay from the ps3 version and the xbox version, the ps3 version has much better anit-aliasing, the cars look "crisper," and the boost and backfire graphics are much much nicer. I dont understand why. it almost makes me want to return my copy of the game, but i wont because it is still really fun.
thats very true. i heard the next need for speed will be developed by ea gothenburg, which specializes games with frostbite 2 so that should be interesting

I can't stand that Criterion doesn't even give us a choice to use a manual transmission! At least NFS The Run gave you an option to use manual. I know someone is gonna come here and say "It's an arcade racer! You don't need manual transmissions", but the fact is, A LOT OF PEOPLE ENJOY SHIFTING IN GAMES!!! Even in an arcade racer, being able to shift gears is an enjoyable part of the game, and it helps to give each car it's own character rather than just this car is faster than this other car.
I can tell you that the burnout saga was really good, just don't look problems with criterion games. It was a really great saga, because it was too realistic. And it was different from nfs.
It's not that it isn't as powerful, though. It's because the PS3's Cell processor is so freaking weird and hard to code/develop for. Plus, the system's RAM is 256 MB system and 256 MB video. Instead of the Xbox 360's RAM which is pooled together, and thus easier to work with.
seriously the people saying criterion ruined nfs with this game being not realistic and blah blah blah...have Amy if you ever played the original most wanted? that game wasn't realistic either. pretty much the same thing
Criterion had to use the Nfs brand to push their next burnout and the results are as expected, the ones on criterions Dick love it and the rest of us hate it or don't care. Job well done EA you've picked up a small base while disparaging a greater number of dedicated fans. Maybe next title.
I'm perfectly happy with "my" hobby thank you very much. If you don't want to pay towards certain features of games maybe it's you that needs to rethink things.
i can't believe that once again the makers of another need for speed game didn't listen to the consumer. look at your most loved games: carbon, undercover and especially nfs underground 1 & 2, nfs most wanted. Most nfs fans don't want to race these expensive cars. we want the real experience of street racers. starting at the bottom buying a skyline line or 240x and modding it and making it look cool. Its pretty fun to me if you had friends playing :D I got to level 20 in about a month or two without noticing. Don't really mind about other cars looking better because they had speed boost...
Also can I ask if the movie like storyline has gone? It looks so. As the cheesy hollywood blockbuster race movie element is what made the nfs series great. ;)

I have a couple of questions though, isn't it easy to complete the most wanted list if you can have whatever car you find (I.e I could have a supersport and the other person a focus rs) and if you upgrade a car and then swap it,will it retain the upgrades if you choose to go back to it. Seriously considering buying this game, so does anyone know the answers to these?

I've played them all, I love NFS (Blacklist is the best) and yes, this does lack something, it doesn't navigate well for a start. If you want to drive you sould earn it. You should have your own garage. However, I find this new game very addictive, that doesn't make it rubbish just different. Bring back the garage, and the police are rubbish, to easy.
Man, Just calm down, First of all: You never played the game, (Never judge a book by its cover) Second of all: I do believe nfs lovers will like this game, due to the fact that even if it is like burnout, burnout was a good game, and its not going to be like burnout. Third: Even if it is going to be like burnout, It would be a mix of need for speed and burnout, which would be fantastic, this is meant to be a open world, multiplayer game, which i think it would be fantastic. Wait for release.
not really, the vita version has 2 major difference than the ps3 version. It has no reflection of water, such as puddle on the road and also small pixelation on shadows and such.
i REALLY hope nfs underground 3 wont be like this.. I actually enjoy having a garage to buy cars, customize them however I want, and drive them whenever the f**k I want.. to me, that is why I think nfs underground 2 was my favorite of all. EA dont let me down....

Why did the PS3 never receive a port of the wonderful and superior 2005 Most Wanted? Still baffling to this day.

Agree with you but this was at least a step in the right direction. Aside from not having the custimization for the cars the game is solid

If you notice the race with the yellow Porsche 911 is the same ran what we seen on the vita version
They removed the need for you to stop racing, drive to a garage just to change your car's colour or add a modification.
I enjoyed Shift 2, in my opinion. Just a perfect dose of everything for me.

you need a usb camera for your playstation. if you dont have a camera you profile avator will be on billboards

I miss the first Most Wanted and NFS Underground 1 the most. I'd pay 80$ for a modern Underground 1.

have you played paradise, you don't exactly drive away from a crash there(unless your car can take the hit)

Is this game really worth it? I liked the remake of HP but Most Wanted was my all time fav and I dont want to be disapointed by this one

Most people are saying that 2 , but i guess that is because the same company that made burnout , made this game.

Haha! Not my best, but in defence I was trying to talk and drive. This/Burnout Paradise is one of the few games I'm not terrible at, though.
