Thanks for your video Roadside Guy. Of all the videos I've seen this is the most crystal clear video - your instructions were clear and easy to follow. Thanks heaps!
Great video! I helped this hot/cool girl that I really really like jumpstart her 2010 Prius w/ my 2012 Camry and it really impressed her because I was able to teach her like you taught me! 💪🏼
Thanks for the advice. I will work on that. The thumbnail shows exactly where to connect the positive cable. Also try pausing or slowing the video down. Thanks again for watching this and commenting. I appreciate it.
appreciate you making this video. First time using hybrid to jumpstart another car, but failed. I even tried the trunk's regular battery to jump start. Turned out that car's alternator was shut :-( oh well, greatt learning experience.
I thought the correct order was red to dead. Then red to the live battery. Then black to live battery. Then black to dead car's engine block. Then do those in reverse order when taking them off. Seems like you made a very strong point of doing it not in that order?
Could be I get so confused with that proper order crap. I use a jumpbox 99% of the time. I've never had a battery blow up from hooking cables up out of order.
Proper order of removal. Connect red first and remove red first. To ensure no electrical issues may occur. Such as a short or arch. Thanks for watching.
So if for what ever reason the gas engine shuts off (driver takes foot off gas pedal at a stop light) 2 or 3 minutes after jump starting how is the dead battery going to restart it???? Always leave jump box or cables connected on the hybrid for minimum 4 minutes & leave foot on gas pedal of hybrid just a little to keep gas engine running & alternator charging dead battery. Drive car straight to shop & have starter battery fully charged, tested & replaced if needed
Generates electricity from the rotating wheels while braking, transferring that energy back to the traction battery pack. Some vehicles use motor generators that perform both the drive and regeneration functions.
The suggested connections are correct, however the suggested order of operations is incorrect and dangerous. He had both wires connected to a battery with two loose ends. If those loose ends touch then you will damage the battery and possibly electrocute yourself. This is an example of sloppy work.

Never would've known how to jump it without your vid. Not like they make it easy. Many thanks for your instructions.
Excellent video, took 5 seconds to find where the positive was. Thanks dude

Connecting negative to motor block is surprised me :D I usually connect it to battery negative connection.
Fantastic info for us Prius drivers. But who is that person in the amazing purple outfit?
Thanks. We had no idea how we would do this until your video. ;>)
Grounding to the engine block works best
camera shaking and moving too fast to anywhere but the most important points where the positive cable needs to be connected
Thanks for the advice. I will work on that. The thumbnail shows exactly where to connect the positive cable. Also try pausing or slowing the video down. Thanks again for watching this and commenting. I appreciate it.
I think you’re just a tad slow.
Thank you. Just as your video showed.

Kept it simple and helpful, thanks!!

No it's more.
Can I use the front terminals for using an inverter to power appliances?

Thank you for showing how to do this. It was very helpful.
Why did you disconnect the positive cable first at the end?

Bro thank you so much. I was about to have it towed by the sherif because I hadn't moved it in a couple days. It was dead..
Glad to help you out. Thanks for watching.

Check the video at 1:54 into it. You'll see that the loose ends are far apart.
Muito bom obrigado
Hi roadside guy, I would like to disconnect the negative on my 12 volt battery and leave my 2008 prius sit for 4 months. Is that okay
No, without current, it will go flat. Buy a Battery Tender. That will solve the issue.
Thanks, is that the same as a trickle charger?
