Wow it is going to be really great to watch you too resurrect this LC Torana 😋😋😋 be really great for Paul to film his journey from Perth back to Sydney i'd love to see this old girl make it all that way to Sydney 👍👍👍👍👍 Don't they say old Holden's never die!! Love your channel Stephen 👍👍👍👍
My first car was a LJ 4 cylinder, two door mine was in Alice Springs the last I knew, 😂 but it was fun through the pin's and sat on 80 90 mph cool little thing, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Im a couple months into my valiant project and starting to prime it in sections and i thought i was making good progress, if you guys can even come close to the deadline you've given yourselves id be speechless
When you get this running with good suspension etc , take it for a drive around your speedway track . Once you get used to the steering wheel being not directly infront of you , you might just change your mind about Torana's.They are extremely controlable in all situations and a whole lot of fun. Yes I'm a torans fan , had a half dozen of these models in my younger days and loved every one of them.
G'day CJ, mate what an awesome job ahead for both of you for the next three weeks, looking forward to seeing the rebuild and hope all goes well and smoothly, and the Holden Gods smile on you, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
yup, full of energy at the start of a new build... by the end, you will hate the sight of this car, but you can't let us fans down... this will be an interesting build, can't wait, best of luck you two
looking forward to the build of this, reminds me of the cressida coming back to life but a little more original. subbed to oldschool for more of the Automotive Karnage and looks to have some interesting content to check out already.
Most new cars are junj after 4 years, that Torana is a perfect candidate for a new life. It has lasted 50+ years despite having been used and abused. Can you imagine a new car lasting 50+ years ? I can't.
A 186 is the go for an LC, but a 173 is still better than a 138 if thats all you can get. I removed a 186 from an LJ because in NSW you couldnt rego a 1973 car with a 1971 engine . Replaced it with a 202 and was very dissapointed . Got it passed and re fitted the 186.
Don't lose those rear spring retainers mate the rubbers are easy to get but the plates are like rocking horse shit to find. I might have some front quater glasses laying around if you need them.
Should be hung in a pigskin 😂 Yeah, we had dozens of the LC over the ditch in New Zealand 🇳🇿 ( kiwiland )😊 The 138ci was originally the old FJ engine by origin. That was superceded with the 2250cc engine along with the 2600cc engine between 1969 to 1972. Would love to have owned one 😮 what a great project. Your 173 ci engine ( 2850cc ) was from the LJ Torana ( & CF Bedford vans ), my preferred engine ❤
Yep definitely a 138 red motor. Was the base motor for the 6cyl LC’s. Also popular with people doing grey motor swaps, very had to find a decent one now days though
I remember seeing these when they were a regular sight on the roads. Had a 2250 badge on the bootlid, to indicate the engine cc capacity, or 138 c.i. No relation to the Grey 138.
In s.a. at least as long as you have all the right numbers to put into the rego form and it's not on a wovr or reported stolen it's all good. Jay from low standards regoed the rx3 from this channel.
Be good to see one project finished :)
Hahaha…just wanna get this Torana across the Nullarbor. Seems pretty straight forward.
Love your work.
😀😂

Excellent vid DJ, shared with a few mates too! Looking forward to this “amazing piece of Aussie history” doing the Nullarbor 💯
Awesome project DJ
Had a 6cyl Torana as a kid learning to drive, in my late 60’s now, and that thing had tons of power it used to scare the shit out of me!!!!!
This will be awesome!
make the torana great again 2024
Absolutely 💯 agree 👍 ❤
Yes!!!
Three weeks to fix that to safe and running is a mission! I wish you God Speed!
This'll be awesome.
What happened to the pacer
Bonnet worth a mint....
This should be pretty cool
I had a LC as my first car when I was 16, best $400 I ever spent
WHY NOT!!
Look forward to how you get on!!
отличный проект!
машина которую нельзя продавить пальцем! )

3 weeks wow
Nice project, will be good to see the torrie resurrected.
Looks,um. Challenging. .... Sweet . I do like them.
Needs the rotisserie treatment ❤😮
You guys certainly have your work cut out for you with this one!
The chrome trim on top of the doors is good 😂
what happened with the pacer?
Or dodge ute... or....
Bring it on :)
Where's the old dodge ute? Keep the dirt/ dust out of the diff.
the GUN MAN should love this
Pacer, Pacer, Pacer!!! 😊
I needed this, just heard the US election results. I unsubscribed from all my US RUclips channels, let's pump up the Aussie channels I say....
Why'd you unsub from American channels?
Go Trump
M.A.G.A
Who won 🤔
It was good that Trump won.
Run and drive,, easy. Safe and reliable entirely different.
Correct
Are you going to rego it
Timing gears in Holden sixes not belts.
Yep thats a box 🍻 DJ haha 😄
It looks a lot like Tim Carters Torana that was crashed and left out in the bush Kalgoorlie area in the eighties.
Brocky won his first Bathurst in a 6 cylinder Torana.
Timing belt?
Link to Paul's channel would be good ?????
youtube.com/@oldskoolonly?si=4dcl0pmIsPUm24TQ
@oldskoolonly try that mate 👍
LOOKING AT IT FROM THE BACK WOW IS THAT ROOF BENT OR ITS TWISTED FROM BEING DATE PUNCHED
⭐Churrr⭐
A long shot but maybe the capacitor/s are no good in your hoist pump motor....... Just a thought.
The 138 was the old grey motor the smallest red was 149..
It's similar to hillman avenger here in the UK or a chrysler 2L
Far more closer to your HB / HC Viva 93000 series in UK 🇬🇧 ❤
Yer but lots cooler 😂
The Australian equivalent of the Chrysler would be the Centura.
Should be hung in a pigskin 😂

YOU NEED A FAIRY GODMOTHER TO FIX THAT PILE
Reair spears the place to go for it
Keep that big nut 1 inch brake master cylinder, in big demanda over in the east
It's called a frontend in Australia not a subframe.
WELL THE HX DIFF HOUSING AIN'T GUNNA FIT ITS A BIT LONG
Are U going to paint it
Absolutely not!
Whats a suebaroo?
How can't you like torana's!? Maybe you'd rather my Datsun 240k? 😁.
Recon I've got a front and rear screen.....but being in country Victoria isn't much help🤔
All Torana are just a .nineture Holden Commodore was to be the Torana replacement
A 138 ? ……. I believe that it would more likely be a 161 or a 173
Yep definitely a 138 red motor. Was the base motor for the 6cyl LC’s. Also popular with people doing grey motor swaps, very had to find a decent one now days though

Ride the bike back to Sydney
I don’t think that red engine is a 138 as far as I know the 138 is a grey engine maybe a 161 179 186
Yep definitely a 138 red motor, was the base model motor for the LC’s.
Life is to short to work/rebuild a Holden
I just want to know the legalities of pulling a wreck from the bush and registering in your own name.
In s.a. at least as long as you have all the right numbers to put into the rego form and it's not on a wovr or reported stolen it's all good. Jay from low standards regoed the rx3 from this channel.
All talk no action
your audio sucks
Just needs some amour-all and a buff.
That's jawoombas torana from the glattaburiburi tribe.we wondered where that got to .he will come round and get it
what is this 1993 ? where the F do you get spare parts for this car today ?
