Why is the GOAT's offense (Erhardt-Perkins) not analyzed more? It has been around since 1976 and Brady used it in NE and Tampa. Will it appear less in the NFL, because it is complicated and as Brady says, offenses are being 'dumbed down'?

Could it be that the West Coast plays where everyone is designated as "1" requires the QB to determine his post-snap read based on his own pre-snap read?
I can't help but wonder if the "1" stand for something else in the Shanahan playbook. Like, is it denoting which coverage dictates which route? Maybe it means vs 1 Bump take the dotted route instead? Because I agree that it seems absurd to label everyone as the first read.
