I really like the artwork on all outer box with is magnetised so the fit together so well.
The way it all folds out looks great when you have both the inside and outside in one panoramic view.
I am very happy with this edition an my only real issue is the lack of Artwork on the inside of the amary cases. Everything else is great.
I know people are not happy with the lack of features like making of and back ground work but I have these on the dvd and blu ray so thats not an issue for me.
The ring its self has an inscription the same as the original ring from the movie which is really nice.

I just realized that they have the wrong version of Sting on the box for An Unexpected Journey. It's the LOTR version with the elvish letters, not the Hobbit version. Maybe it was on purpose to add some visual flair.
Sure ... 'I have' the features on other disks as well, but that doesnt take away from the fact that they didnt include them ... in a $250 'Ultimate' kit.
It is an omission, and a big one. I would have purchased this kit to replace all previous disks, but it doesnt.
'I already have it' kinda makes the needs of others as moot.
It makes more sense to buy each trilogies remastered sets ... as they have the full features suite ... and the total cost is 1/2.
200$ well spent!!! Totally Worth it. Great video man. I wanted a close look and you showed it well.

If the goal is just to have the 4k discs, I'd get last year's sets for each trilogy and potentially save a big chunk of cash
I always imagined myself for some hours to live in middle-earth. Would be quite challenging though.

Nice unboxing mate, I like the box that the films come in it's a clever design and the artwork on it is very nice. Nice extras too, them art cards look great and the ring 👌. The only downfall for me is that they weren't steelbooks. Thanks for sharing mate 👍
Yeah your right about not being steels I would have settled for digi packs . The rest of the set was done very well. 👌👌

Yeah a shame you only get the amaray , digipaks would have been so much nicer but the slips coversxare nice. Clever how it's magnetised and folds out into different combinations. Excellent unboxing Jimmy, fantastic video. I passed on the steelbooks last year along with both trilogy box sets because I was waiting for the big release containing all six movies. I was however on the fence but I’m now all in, definitely going to be ordering it this evening.
Me too I missed the steels the price of them put me off as I really like extras . I was nervous about spending so much in one hour but I’m so happy now I did.

Amazon says it has English and German Audio, but on the box there is only English. So does it have audio for other languages?

Thanks for the sub I appreciate that. Yeah the extras or lack of them was the biggest issue for people . You right more discs more money and I couldn’t have gone much more than the £200 cost. For me it was the movies being the main thing . Thanks for watching

I’m happy with it and how they packed everything in, the only downside that people didn’t like was the lack of appendices which was a shame to some . Thanks for watching 👌👌
I feel like this set is only worth having if you:
1. Really want all 6 films
2. Don’t care about special features
3. Don’t like the packaging of the basic sets.
In my case, I missed out on the LOTR Steebooks (because of an error by f%#@ing Best Buy), so I guess I’ll go for this one. Still disappointing though that they skimped on the bonus features.

Yeah it’s in 2 parts same as the dvds all the extended ones are

Wow what a fantastic collection Jimmy. I love every single thing about it. Even the way the box opens looks fantastic and all the new artwork amazing. Unfortunately I do have the Steelbook box set for both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies and I can't see myself double dipping for this box set. But never say never. So on 31 discs, you don't get the Appendices?
Unfortunately not there is a bonus disc with a cast reunion but, the lack of appendices was the main issue for some people, I already have them on other sets so it didn’t bother me

Are the discs the same as the original 4k release or did they fix the dnr issues?
This is my 1st set of LOTR in 4k . I’m yet to watch them . I checked around and haven’t heard about any issues on the discs . When I watch them all next weekend I will know for sure
exact same 4K discs as last year, and no DNR issues. The TV needs to be correctly callibrated.

15 of the 31 discs already existed before this set:
- THE LORD OF THE RINGS on 4K (9 discs)
- THE HOBBIT on 4K (6 discs)
You only get one disc of special features, and all the rest of the discs are extended and theatrical blu-rays of each of the 6 films......which is utterly pointless, if you're buying this for 4K. That'd be like including VHS tapes in the DVD sets from way back when.
This set is a complete joke.

LOTR 4K Both Versions - 9 4Ks (last year's set)

Hi Jeff thanks for the breakdown of the discs . A lot of people were not happy especially with the appendices missing and the amary cases instead of steels or digibooks. For me personally I really like what I got. I only had the LOTR on dvd and hobbit on 3D blu ray which have the appendices so the 4k was good for me. You also make a good point about dining them all on blu ray maybe they should have left them out gone all in on steels and appendices would have been a better release.

However I have the steelbook sets from late last year - can’t buy them yet again !!
If you have those, you definitely don't need these (as you already have about 1/2 of the discs :P )

amaray is the way to go - I'd much prefer having my discs secured, then sliding in/out of something.
