i just wanted to say that even though I am not deaf, the deaf community is nice. You inspired me to learn the ASL to be able to make the world a better place.
I like the “things to say instead of sorry” shirt! When someone tells me they are deaf or hard of hearing, my initial response is ALWAYS to say I’m sorry. But it’s not that I’m sorry they are deaf and I feel bad for them; it’s more that I’m sorry I made an assumption and was not communicating in a way to accommodate them. So I need to rethink how I respond!
YES! I'm saying "sorry I didn't realise sooner and wasn't more intuitive. And sorry if I wasn't looking at you straight on because that can't have been helpful for you trying to lipread: if I had known I would have been more considerate and maybe taken the conversation somewhere calmer too." But if sorry is the most common response with a common meaning, is easy to assume everyone who says it is just saying the same thing and having that one shared thought, even if there are a few different common sentiments... It's easy to make assumptions and jump to conclusions on a sore point. People must say it on a near daily basis with how often one can meet new people. (Pre panacotta)
LOL, from my perspective every time someone says they're sorry for me, I've always been super confused and kind of offended so thanks for explaining that 😅
I teach ASL classes and every year I get a gift for each of my graduating seniors. I'll definitely be using these businesses to buy all my gifts in the future! Thank you for sharing!
@@shotalen13 you’re not just magically not deaf anymore, she will always be deaf but she does have an implant that is supposed to help improve talking and allows her to hear different noises
your progress in language is truly astounding. you are truly an example of change and how technology can help us to reacquire something as precious as hearing. love u
Omg I needed this! I'm moving soon and I want to find some deaf artists to support and hang up some fantastic art and get some cute clothes too! Thanks Chrissy and its always great to see you upload
One of my best friends is deaf, she moved to a dff state a while ago but we keep in touch. we are in 6th grade. she has cochlear implants and she has such a sweet soul. i know the basics of signing :)
I stumble upon your videos every once and a while and i always think how beautiful your smile and attitude is, It’s infectious! No way a girl like you is single, you’re the total package... hope this doesn’t come across weird, I’m just a 26 yr old hopeless romantic 🙃
Love this video!!!! I'm excited to support these businesses! So happy I found your channel and excited to watch new videos. I'm trying to watch Deaf news and ASL RUclipsrs to keep up my ASL fluency during COVID-19.
I started to lose my hearing (low tones only) last year. This is progressively increasing, and although it is still grade 1 hearing loss, I have difficulty understanding conversations and sounds in noisy environments. Your channel is really cool and inspiring.
I just found your channel and love your videos. I have a 13 month old son. He is hearing but I started him in a children’s ASL class at 6 months. He consistently uses several signs already. I plan on continuing him in classes long term and I look forward to learning with him. I just ordered the alphabet poster and flash cards you shared in this video!
I’m from Baltimore! I know some asl because my taught me it when I was little in order to communicate with people because I didn’t begin to speak until I was three. I have been wanting to learn more ASL because it’s so beautiful and I want to be able to communicate with my neighbors who are deaf and more people in the deaf community. I love your videos
I love all of these and I can't wait to buy some cute clothes for me and my Deaf friends!! I wish you had your own fashion business too because your outfit at the beginning is EVERYTHING! I love the necklace!
Hi there Chrissy! Saw your cochlear implant video, and I notice you said you had LVAS which can cause hearing to worsen overtime. I have it as well, and I'm 24. Over the last several years, hearing has remained the same. Also, you're pretty good at talking, my accent never improved haha.
my name is johnny. i’m basically just a deaf guy who was born & raised in LA, california. i went to mainstream school my whole life. my language is asl lol. i just discovered this channel and you just earned a sub🙏🏽🔥
The black product from language priority, is it a jacket? Bc I was looking for it on the website and I think it would look amazing as a jacket but I only found it as a hoodie.
Hi, my name is La Chopy. I do not use English what I copy in a translator, I speak Spanish and little sign languages. I also use a medel cochlear implant. Very nice to hear but I love it more music with dance like crazy hahaha. Greeting from Argentina
I am an audiometry student and I have not seen a case like you. You are very positive and I am very angry with the nurses in the hospital, they know that you do not hear, but they expect you to talk to someone who cannot hear even though I do not know the language and they expect you to do something by talking to their face. Some behaviors are unfortunately universal (sorry, I used a translation)
Oh, also, I'm HH but don't sign fluently and have always been horrible at lipreading. I watch your vids with the sound off and it is so easy to read your lips!!
Hey, its really nice find channels like yours, im from brazil, and there aren't channels in portuguese, teachind sign language. Here in brazil, we call Libra, it means "lingua brasileira de sinais" or Brazilian sign language.
I wish I could find more Deaf owned businesses. Before the pandemic, I went to as many events as possible and purchased items to support them. Once the pandemic hit, it was a nightmare finding anything. Hopefully people can provide some lists for me to refer to.
How do you feel about a hearing person wearing those ASL/BSL shirts? I want to support these businesses! I love the shirts and things you got! However, I don't want to insert myself into deaf and hard of hearing culture.

Oh wow I didn’t realize how good she was at talking
I'm pretty sure but I could be wrong.. She gradually lost her hearing so that could be why🤷♀️
