I've been hoping you would finally cover Bering. Their 77 is freaking amazing for it's size class. The Hysucat is so extraordinary. Alexei is absolutely fantastic and his dedication to safety, redundancy and comfort really shines through in the finish product. Not just that, how they get their boats to keep single digit gallons per hour usage statstics at cruising for their size is INSANE (If I overheard in the Nautistyles video correctly 4.5 gal/ph for Behring 70 at 8kts)
Truly built for purpose explorer yachts and constantly innovating and adjusting their models because its all welded and not made from forms. Bering is basically building a small commercial ship in a luxury yacht wrapper. Alexi's philosophy of constant improvement/innovation in things like structure, layouts, hull design is very easy to implement when you are working with steel. Fiberglass, you want to change a bulkhead/structure or part of the hull you gotta do a whole new mold, hundreds of thousands(maybe millions) of dollars. His philosophy of constant incremental improvements is very easy to implement when all your boats are custom spec and pretty much hand made.

I like the approach Alexei has to boats. It is indeed all about safety and if that safety can come with comfort then that is an add on. So many boat builders only go for aesthetics and safety is a bit of a 'problem'. I have seen super yachts where I would not even want to be found dead, all flashy, but highly unstable and built with the cheapest materials.
If I would ever be able to afford a new yacht in this size I am sure it would be a Bering. Out current boat is also a trawler, built for heavy seas and thus safety and we love it. We don't need to worry, we know that our vessel can handle much more than we can and with more extreme weather on the way you need that sense of security.
Great video and thanks for letting Alexei speak his mind.

Hi David and Alexei. Bering. . . Rugged, seaworthy, comfortable and most importantly Safety at sea. A fantastic tour of this shipyard and interview with the CEO. Very interesting video, looking forward to the 145. Thanks 😊

Nice to hear Alexi talk without squeaking Victoria constantly interrupting him.

Bering Yachts are on fire. Would definitely be on my short list if I had the funds. Thanks for the great tour David.

Alexey is awesome, so down to earth and I'd trust him with my life - which is what you do with a boat.

My favorite yacht. It beat out Sunreef, Sunseeker, OA90R, Riva and a few others. On another note, anyone going to talk about how beautiful the surroundings are with the mountains. Stunning.

Hey David, absolutely love your videos. I would love to see a similar video of the Van der Valk shipyard in the Nederland's. Keep up the good work!

Amazing - I had a call with Van der Valk yesterday and plan to film there at the end of August. They have some great things going on!

Your best video I've ever enjoyed and I'm a big fan! I fell in love with this builder instantly for all the reasons you state. These boats are likely to remain a fantasy desire due to the total cost of ownership, it's daunting for all but the billionaire. I dream of owning an 80, but I'm smitten by what that 145 is going to look like when finished! I dream like all of us, of cruising the entire world at my liesure, any conditions any coastline. Just soaking it all in. A captain and wife team with their quarters as big as the other suits right behind the helm. Generous room for three more crew. Living on the boat, repleshing supplies, making repairs, keeping this lifestyle on track! I'm sure its not easy or economical. Yeah, I live this life vicariously through quality videos like yours and of course N.S. I hope you will follow their build of a 75. It would be a dream come true to own and operate these ships, however the video insight you create is a delicious and satisfying substitute.

Your review of the stairway build was illustrative of the quality truly built into the ship.

    I like the explorer yachts.
    Built like beautiful floating fortresses.
They can go through some stuff.

Nautistyles was responsible for the growth I think. Nick just covered one yacht, the 70. I don't really count his as doing a whole lot to move the needle l Iike Rico and Victoria did.

Excellent David! These type of videos are so good. Well, you never disappoint really but these in-depth builder portraits are very interesting. I only wish it was longer, or had another part... Have a look on the floor of the editing room, maybe there are som bits and pieces left that you can cobble together for a Directors Cut 😉
