Great transformation!!! I was with you on trying to decide what stain to use. I did like it both ways, but in the end I think the darker stain was definitely the right choice! Awesome job girl!!
This is probably my favorite of your projects that I have seen so far. I am getting so inspired to try my hand at refinishing something, as soon as weather permits me to get outside. Great job!
That's a wonderful thing that you do, there's so many people out there that appreciates 💕 a beautiful piece of fun. I have watched so many of your videos 📹 and every one of your projects turns out gorgeous. Keep doing what you do.
This was amazing. I love the color. The top was hard to choose. I initially liked the light, but the dark was pretty, too and I am so glad you painted the hardware. My favorite part was when you sanded the top. It was so satisfying to watch and the reveal of that pretty wood... so amazing. Thank you
Very nice. I redid an old desk similar to this one this past spring. It was a garage sale desk I bought for my son about 30 years ago. I painted it dark green then with a bit of checkerboard stencilling, and this spring I painted it white with pink drawers of various shades and new handles for my granddaughter. She loves it.
Hi Cory! You did an amazing job on this as always. So kind of you to give it someone. I bet he was thrilled. I sure appreciate the detailed instructions and tips you give us. Hope your day is filled with peace and joy. 💕
I do like this shade of blue! I too thought the light white wash would be pretty but the stain you chose was perfect. The blue wasn’t too dark so you still had enough contrast to not make the piece so ‘heavy.
Once again, I’m amazed at the beauty you brought out in such a ‘moody’ piece! What a beautiful gift. I also enjoyed your video where you provide (excellent) advice to anyone who does furniture flips. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent with us.
Such a great flip! Love your colour choices. Something I’ve learned from my own spraying is that if you’re watering down your paint that much make sure you adjust the flow valve on the back of your gun. It will help you use way less paint. 😉
That’s sweet! What a fun piece!! And YES...I have always painted my pieces upside down first. A trick I learned by trial & error. It’s truly the best way to make sure you get all of it covered. I’ve used DIY Chalk paint several times. It’s great except, yes, on the expensive side unfortunately! I’ve been using Rustoleum Chalk Paint. It works really well. I also thin it down slightly before I paint with it. ❤️ MOODY BLUE...WINNER!!
I LOVE rustoleum chalk paint. I wish they had more color variety but we can always mix in some latex colors to make custom colors. Thank you so much for watching. Im glad you liked how it turned out
Wow it looks so great makeover! Thank you for showing us how you used the diy paint and giving us the amount it took to cover the desk area you did and the price! 👏💗😀🖌️🎨
I wasn't too sure about the espresso stain. But...it does look gorgeous with that blue, and more masculine than a lighter finish would have been. Lovely!
Hahaha omg the top of that table looks kinda like my nightstand used to look like in elementary school and middle school years....I've never been great at painting my nails.🤣🤣🤣
I was so about to ask about the drawers and fixing them lol! I'm soon to be starting my channel I'm super nervous and love fixing furniture and your videos are super helpful!
I'm not a blue person, but really like the blue with the desk top stain. Great job. Man, do not know how you do it. They say our avg high for August was nearly 111 in Phoenix.
Thank you Linda. I live a few hours south of Phoenix so our Temps are not as outrageous but its still hot. Luckily the past few days have been under 100
I love your painting projects and admire your generosity. One small suggestion, and please don’t think it’s a criticism, but Zeb, from Jamie Ray Vintage, has some great tutorials giving the ratios of paint to water when using this brand with a sprayer. I’ve held off using this product because of the expense. I’ve used several different products as I’m still learning. I appreciate you taking the time to share your wonderful videos and your tips and techniques.
Thank you Edna, and thank you for the suggestion, but I won't be using this brand anymore after I finish what is left of what I already bought. I think you might be able to find it in sample sizes from local dealers so you can test it out for yourself. I personally feel like there are much more affordable paints that work just as well if not better than this brand. Don't feel pressured by me one way or another, though. Use what products make you happy.
Ha! Watching you shake that jar. I never shake my DIY paint. I only shake my top coats like Golden Ticket or the copper. I water it down a lot when I paint because there's so much pigment. Your paint may have gone farther if you had added more water than another paint brand. I love diy brand paint. 😉
I use a torch and paint scraper to remove paint works great not sure if it matter on the type of paint . but my father is a wood finisher and he taught me how to do this .
Beautiful! I love the blue. I'm thinking of trying to build a desk since they are so expensive right now. ( home schooling everywhere..lol ) Even finding a little gem like this is hard! I love the size of this desk! As always I love your style!!!
Since u always pick kids aging out foster care were u a foster kid I was wish I had someone like u back then. I luv wat u do keep up the great n godly work
Hi Margie. I was not in foster care. I was raised by a single mother. We were very poor most of my childhood and those experiences were tough BUT we had each other. My heart just aches for children who go through tough times with NO ONE to love them and support them. I cant imagine.
Such an amazing transformation! Love the colors! I ordered the same handles from your amazon store because I’m about to start on two wooden end tables. Super excited!
Great transformation!!! I was with you on trying to decide what stain to use. I did like it both ways, but in the end I think the darker stain was definitely the right choice! Awesome job girl!!
It turned out beautiful. God blees you for what you do in donating the pieces that you makeover.

Pretty blue.
I do like this shade of blue! I too thought the light white wash would be pretty but the stain you chose was perfect. The blue wasn’t too dark so you still had enough contrast to not make the piece so ‘heavy.
That blue is gorgeous. Love the espresso finish.

I start all my pieces upside down now too... Thanks for that tip, Cory!!
That is so great I'm so glad you tried my method
Such a great flip! Love your colour choices.
Something I’ve learned from my own spraying is that if you’re watering down your paint that much make sure you adjust the flow valve on the back of your gun. It will help you use way less paint. 😉
Good point. Its a delicate balance between enough air to push out the clay paint evenly but not too much
That's a beautiful transformation. You are so talented. Xxx

Haha right? You should see the price of car paint. Phew!!!!
That is a very pretty desk. Anyone would be happy to have it.
I wasn't too sure about the espresso stain. But...it does look gorgeous with that blue, and more masculine than a lighter finish would have been. Lovely!
Thank you Beth. It was a gamble! Lol. Sometimes its really hard to pick out colors and stains so i am glad this turned out well and not mismatchy haha

DIY paint can be thinned up to 10 parts water to 1part paint it is that pigmented. Also mix it before putting in sprayer.
