Whenever I have a really big cry, I do feel icky the next day like you were describing. I've always thought of it as an emotional hangover.

I love when you keep it real, it’s very relatable content because we all have those days. I am always exhausted after a lot of emotion, like crying. It’s a release, but also super draining. LOVE LOVE LOVE PF Chang’s vegetarian lettuce wraps!! They are amazing and the first time I had them I freaked and called the server back over because I thought he had brought me pork by mistake lol. The tofu is so smoky and that sauce!! Be still my heart.
I have seasonal affective disorder and I hate it! I always want to be happy during the Holidays but I get so stressed out plus when it gets dark so early it really messes with your mood. You are so right that you have to make yourself do something for yourself and try look at all the things in your life to be thankful for! This year especially has been very rough on everyone! thanks for sharing!

Ya know what, having a Ho-hum day is sometimes very necessary to take a step back, reassess and put things into perspective. It’s good to see you allow yourself that time and embrace the ebb of the day. Thank you for sharing as I know that I can relate, but I’m sure there are many others as well!! ♥️
Trader Joe’s and IKEA on a weekend are my idea of hell!!
The idea of both together is a true nightmare.
Ohhhh yes!!! IKEA is a nightmare. I made that mistake once, many years ago and never again. Walmart is the same...and I’m lucky because I live near a nice Walmart.
This was exactly my day yesterday - cry, heaviness, meh. All of it. Watching this and then getting out of my house for a walk are how I'm going to make that time. If I could be standing on the shores of a Great Lake - that would make it 1000% better. Thank you again for these vlogs. They are hitting me exactly where I am this year.
Crying is more exhausting to me than a spin class. But just like your body needs exercise, sometimes we also just need to cry!
If you use the Starbucks app you can mobile order ahead of time, tip, and still use the drive-thru. By doing it this way too it’s totally contactless paying wise!
I wish they would add oat milk to the app but because availability varies so much they haven’t...until they do no mobile ordering for me

Give yourself grace, it's one of the best things you can do, and yes when I have a big cry, I allow myself to do so. It is hard, I don't like crying in front of others or even by myself either, but sometimes you just have to let things out. Afterwards it can feel draining and tiring because everything that was pent up was finally released or let go. You need to allow yourself space to do that when it is necessary, just for your own mental and emotional well being. It's ok to have a "meh" day once in a while, happens to all of us. Just let it happen and go with the flow, like you did. It is amazing when we can recognize that for ourselves and just let it happen. Love the vlogs! You do you! I can only speak for myself, but I do enjoy watching and am glad whenever you are able to post. *Big Hugs* to You, CC, and Donny!

I grew up in Lake Forest! It is an absolutely gorgeous town! I remember when Mr. T lived there on Green Bay Rd. and cut down all of the trees on his property. It was the talk of the town! LOL
It’s cathartic to cry. Go into a private place and let the feelings out. No need to attach shame to it. There’s such a thing as toxic positivity. It’s normal to be sad sometimes.
This was fun. Like running errands with a friend❤️. Hoping tomorrow is better.

What has been bringing me joy lately is, your Vlogs. I love that you took the time to share a bring a little Christmas during this challenging time. I know you didn't feel your best, but it still means a lot that you wanted to share that part of yourself.
Can Soooo relate to Lake Forest lifting your spirits! I used to live in Libertyville and whenever I had to go to the hospital for cancer testing I was just so uplifted just by driving on the hospital campus! I know this sounds crazy but loved the peaceful surroundings! Loved this vlog. Happy Sunday 🌸

Hi Jen! I have the same vehicle. Go into your settings and I believe you can uncheck the heated seat and steering wheel there. I think 32* is the cutoff on if it will turn on or not

I used to live right next to Lake Forest. It is absolutely gorgeous...we were in the have-not neighborhood north of them though, haha! We always took the kids trick or treating there...it's just such a beautiful neighborhood.

My grandmother lived in Lake Forest when I was a child. I was lucky enough to fly out from NH for a week each summer and spend it with her. When you post pictures from down by the lake it brings back so many memories for me 🥰

I think what you described about crying is very normal. I have days where i feel great and other days where i know that what is happening isn't normal, we have been stuck at home for almost a year (well those of us who are able to work at home in the UK anyway). You are also going through a lot of changes and whilst you are emotionally okay with it, that doesn't mean there wont be some emotional upheaval when it comes to certain events/unforseen changes or even just general moments where it hits home. It takes time but your new normal becomes your new normal and your past is the past.
I usually feel energized after a good cry. Here's a HUG!

Jen, I’m enjoying these Vlogs as I’m recovering from Covid. Relatively mild case but I’m going on week 3. Believe it or not, my priorities have shifted and I appreciate the little things that ground me. I think when we can ground ourselves and appreciate the little things in our lives will we truly find peace and contentment. Keep doing what you are doing!

Weird I am typically not a cryer but had a big cry last night too. I think between working in healthcare and seeing all the devastation of Covid, and our country divided, it’s not really surprising many of us are crying. I think you can turn off the automated heated seats/stearing wheel. From what I've found What if you don’t want auto heated/vented seats to automatically turn on?
On the 8.4 in Uconnect ® touch screen, select APPS, then go to SETTINGS then scroll down to AUTO-ON COMFORT. You will then have the option to turn the automatic system completely off, only on remote start or keep it on for every start. The menu also gives you the same options for the heated steering wheel.

I feel the same way about Trader Joe's. In fact I set my alarm yesterday to wake up at 7AM so I could get to Trader Joe's at 8AM yesterday so I could shop without a bunch of people. I really like my Trader Joe's and where it is located. I also bought the bon bon's because I can't eat dairy. My 6 year old son and I both loved them. Wished we had them in the summer. They're a nice little treat instead of eating a bowl of ice cream.
After a big cry I think we get dehydrated. That is what it feels like to me, maybe extra water today!😊. Thank you for sharing, it was fun hanging out!

I have a good carthartic cry at least once a year. I feel emotionally better the next day, but it also leaves me with a hungover feeling so I usually just take my shower and have a pajama day. Lol.
You're going through a grieving process so expect more of those cries.
I hear ya' about the grocery store experience. My husband and I literally go to the grocery store at 7:00am on a Sunday morning (local HEB), but when we go to Trader Joes - we go the second they open because that store is TIGHT (social distancing is nearly impossible). But I love Trader Joe's - being there is like a field trip these days (isn't that sad - LOL).

The seat and steering wheel warmers should have a setting in your radio (If you have one of those UConnect screens).. per Google..
"Whether you have the setting set to all starts or remote start these options are dependent on the ambient temperature your vehicle is registering." Maybe if you have it set to All Starts, change it to remote start or vice versa? I have a UConnect in my Dodge Charger and we can set them to automatically turn on with remote start, or manually.
My Trader Joe's is chaotic as well. It's like laws of the jungle in there!

Still have my Starbucks gold card (circa 2011) and it actually has my maiden name on it lol I only use it when my 4 year old is using my phone. Definitely prefer using the app. Longtime Starbucks fan over here 😉

We have the book called The Snowy Day. The illustrations on the stamps are from that book. It’s such a great children’s book. You NEED to buy it, really. Classic and beautiful. One of my kids’ favourites ( and mine)
I confirm: crying is very tiring. For me, it’s a must sometimes because I feel so much better after, like if the tension is gone. Which doesn’t mean that I am crying all the time. But after my separation, I was crying all the time to the point that I had to wear sunglasses when I was going outside. I think that I used all my stock of tears, then. I cry much less now, like if I have no tears available anymore.
The Great Smoky Mountains is where I go to ground myself among nature-it's my happy place. This has been a rough year for us all. It will get better. We just have to keep thinking positive and being filled with gratitude for the little things.

The automatic heated seats and steering wheel warmer should be able to be toggled off/on in the settings- take some time to poke around the infotainment next time you're in the car.

For me, crying like that is a great release and heathy, eventhough it is emotionally draining for a short while. But I think that holding things in is bad for our well-being and can hurt our overall health. You are doing well to let it out. :)) - Amy

I find that if you go toward closing on the weekends, Trader Joe’s is less crowded. I rarely have to wait in line.
Loved today's vlogmas post! If it helps, my brother had the same issue with his Pacifica regarding the automatic turn on of the heated seats and steering wheel. He was able to turn it off through the touchscreen by selecting Apps then go to Settings then scroll down to Auto-On Comfort.
I also appreciate when Winnie is on more too. Which video was Winnie kissed by the cow? My Dad loves it . We laugh so hard!! Keep up the great job!

Jen have you ever gone to the Lightscape at the Botanic Garden? We went last year and it was amazing, also relaxing. My son just bought a house in Winnetka so we will be spending a lot of time there in the future! We will have to check out Lake Forest too!
