I was visiting my parents and my dad put the Lee Mack episode on. My mum came in about five minutes in and was completely hoodwinked. Her reaction to the finale was absolutely priceless.
I really caught on with 3x3 when she preempted the Witch Finder General question. Tbh I sort of guessed but it was still so good. The actors playing the contestants were convincing and Lee Mack was perfect casting. I can believe that some watching were blown away with the ending😂😂😂
Yes! I made a ticket reservation for the Inside Number 9 theatre production in March 2025. And it’s only July. It’s going to be the longest winter ever.
I showed my wife the 3 By 3 episode without her knowing what it was and she was completely immersed and none the wiser that it wasn't really gameshow. The end blew her mind, although not as much as the lady in the soundproof booth... I love Inside No 9.
Brilliant episode never got fooled, but by god we did with the live show we turned it off, playing hell with the BBC that they had lost the stream, hope the boys keep Number 9 going for years to come !!!
That explains why they weren't in it at all. I was watching it and so focused on waiting to see the pair of them turn up that it was over before I knew it. Think I spent a lot of the time thinkng how it WOULD make a pretty good game show 😂 I don't understand why folk thought it was real but heyho each to their own 🎉
I love Steve (and Reese). I’m on a Benidorm kick right now… my new favorite show!! Taking suggestions for other series to watch. Dark comedy is always good!!

I was actually very much looking forward to 'Hold On Tight' much more than the quiz show. It got the result they wanted, but I was rather nonplussed by the episode.
please don't stop at series 9 guys, as you know 9 isn't what it's about it's just a number for a tale to be written in a certain place, people are'nt going to say 'this is shit theve gone over 9 series". If not i'm sure the next show you two make will be as genius as the first 3!

It fooled me as I'd DVR'd it, assumed they'd shown something else, so I stopped less than a minute in. It wouldn't have been the first time they'd done that. Then I downloaded the episode, checked it first and it was still 3x3. A quick search showed it was a prank and then I watched the full thing. I wouldn't call the ending weak but it was predictable once the clues started dropping. If you've seen any horror with tk powers then it obvious.
How anyone could believe that awful quiz episode was real is beyond me. Why would the BBC replace Inside No 9 with either a brand new Lee Mack quiz at 10pm or a repeat (if people believed it had aired before) of one? 🙄
Steve isn't just a genius writer and actor but a great person too
