1)Jay Z is not the one who snubbed Wanye. Jay Z is paid by the NFL to be a front man/cover up for who really makes the decisions (NFL). NFL makes the decisions and is the ones who snubbed Wayne.
2)Birdman really has no say so to speak because he just wanted Wanye to headline so he can try to be on stage himself with Wayne just to try to restart his career again. NFL does not care for who from the city that Super Bowl is currently at, all the NFL care for is who is trending worldwide and who brings in the ratings and money and last i checked the audience worldwide knows Birdman and even if Wayne would have been chosen the only folks really known worldwide (out of the whole Cash Money/Young Money circle) is Drake, Nikki and Wayne. Wayne and all of the New Orleans rappers are all stars in their own right. There is literally nothing stopping them all from coming together, organizing and doing a show the same night, and putting all of the drama to rest. The only thing that can stop them is the will to not do it.

I’ve been a huge Lil’ Wayne fan since an early teen. However, this selective outrage is becoming ridiculous. The last few Super Bowls, which were hosted in Las Vegas, Glendale, Tampa, Miami, etc., didn't have any artists of the soil as the headlining act, with the exception of Super Bowl LVI, which was held in Los Angeles and featured performers from the area. Why is it suddenly a problem NOW? Because it’s Kendrick? The last 2 Super Bowls to be held in New Orleans were in 2002, and most recently, in 2013. At this time, Tunechi was gearing up to release “I Am Not a Human Being II”, which included singles like “Love Me" (Jan '13) and "No Worries" (Sep '12), adding to an already amazing catalog. Why wasn't there an outcry when Weezy didn't perform? Folks need to quit building a narrative to paint a negative picture. Wayne is a LEGEND, and the Super Bowl shouldn’t justify his level of stardom.

That's a fair point but I think the reason why people are more angry this time isn't necessarily just the location but the opportunity. Hip hop has never really headlined a superbowl halftime show so when Dre headlined in LA it was historic because not only were they Cali and LA based artists but it was Hip hop shown on a major stage. Now you got to show love to great Hip hop community in Atlanta with one of the all time greats and Lil Wayne and you pass on it I can see the outrage.

People forget the halftime show is not free or paid for. The entertainer fronts all the money. So best and most iconic people will be added, featured, promoted, etc. Also your show means your squad, there is only so much time and space.

Kendrick has put out the biggest RAP song of the year, not for all of music. TBH, he still isn’t the biggest rapper currently, he just belt to ass on THAT person. But for it to be a Rap show, it makes sense, but there are other politics that exist in this as well, but that’s a whole mess of things to get into.
Almost every Super Bowl performer is a legacy act, or at least their performance was mainly old catalogue. Examples: Rihanna, Shakira and J Lo, Dre and company (minus Dot himself). , Usher (who was last year), etc. The Weeknd was the last “still currently in their prime artist”. You’d have to go back a bit to maybe Bruno, or Katy Perry (who is arguable) for the last artists who fit that, so that shouldn’t disqualify Wayne.

They usually want artists to appeal to women & age range , Bruno & Katy Perry are the few artists to perform at their peak.Wayne is one of the few Hip Hop Superstars capable of doing the Super Bowl, most of his fans have gotten older so we carry wider demographics than we used to & he could bring out some massive guests in Drake & Justin Bieber (I’m The One is no. 1 hit, if he’s feeling well) & broaden his appeal further. He’d probably have to rework some of his lyrics though

They’ve been trying to pick Taylor Swift for years now, she keeps telling them no. Most artists that perform at the Super Bowl are legacy acts anyway, they don’t always choose artists that are hot at the moment unless they’re Pop Stars like Bruno Mars or Katy Perry. Usher, J. Lo & Shakira, Timberlake (2018), etc. weren’t really hot when they performed. Lil Wayne would be a perfect legacy act, though admittedly he would have to clean up a decent amount of lyrics but he could bring out a mystery pot of guests.

He was good at the Arena concert I saw him at in Lexington KY last year, his performances fluctuate show to show but he can still be good & I’d imagine he’d bring his A Game for the Super Bowl. I can’t guarantee it like I can for Kendrick though, so he’s probably the safer choice performance wise
