@@revi6482 I'm old enough that to me, this is still the 2000s, this is one continual period of descent. And don't get me wrong: there's always been smut. But, it wasn't as prevalent. And, even smut was better edited. My God, the typos.

Here before this guy blows up honestly. This video was so funny and I'm glad I could find this channel, keep up the great work man, you've got great humour, Kurtis Connor style and if you keep it up I bet you'll grow insaenly quick. 💪😌
14:03 "I mean dude, if this is romance, then so are the Saw movies." Yep, that about sums up the standard for a lot of these. I myself don't mind a little mess in development, like the main couple having made mutual attempts to kill each other in the past because they fought on opposite sides of a war, or the protag finding out their love interest is a form of creature that's had to kill people for survival (all of this largely existing within the paranormal or fantasy genre, mind you), but so much of what I've learned about "dark romance" in recent months goes too far for me that I fail to see the "romance," just the "dark." 😐
9:16: The irony that in the past that wasn't considered a tolerable minimum but an ideal to date someone half your age plus seven years, so if a guy was to be married at 40, it was considered the best for him to marry a 27 year old. Nowadays though, it's just one of many not-legally-applicable social rules for acceptable dating.
Rugby. The sexiest sport is Rugby. Welsh Rugby players are best, but Kiwi's are good too! Not French though, I've got to keep that English vs French stereotype going. And I've not been living under a rock, I just refuse to accept TikTok exists now, I've seen too much weird shit about that platform and this is one more reason to avoid it like the plague.
As a writer (of YA romance/romantasy books), I don't get the fascination people have with Booktok or Dark Romance (to each their own, I guess). There seems to be no substance to it and from what I've seen they are mostly the same story, going the same way over and over again. I don't mind overused tropes in general (like enemies-to-lovers or childhood friends) but how about doing something slightly different at least? And making it more about the character's connection rather than anything else... Also if they just upload these scenarios and it's enough for people I feel like who is going to read completed books with 250-350 pages? Also why do most of them feel more like True Crime than romance? "Oops All Tropes" is an amazing title for a book by the way...
Well, Romance is not for me (any more then the lord of the rings books has the wrong anything to romance ratio for me). Dark romance is very much "wtf?" territory (for me). But some guy acting this stuff out and piling tropes like no tomorrow is actually quite funny (because tropes are cool).
dude i totally got a crazy idea for a video seriously think about it man please. its a video about how good rubber is and all its uses. like think about it rubber is seriously awesome like burning rubber and like using rubber bands to make a slingshot and so on and so forth. side note i think you have a real flare for satire and would love to see more satirical comments worked in its a riot.

"200 pages of nothing but boinking and oinking." Sounds about right. Idiocracy has reached even our literary set.
@@mrkelso to be honest, smut always existed. In the 2000s it was fanfiction and that shit was wild! Now it’s just more openly accessible.

I have been cringing this whole video but the cop drugging somebody and tattooing his NAME AND BADGE NUMBER on them made me cackle aloud
And that's relatively tame compared to some of the BookTok posts 😆... I was playing it safe with this video to avoid demonetization lol

Dear Jason McBason: good job, your videos are good and you should feel proud.
Also, the guffaw I let out when the ad that interrupted you was for book of the month club.
I never know what you're going to talk about. But I always know it's going to be funny.
Wow, I'm a bookworm that's been under a rok. Tiktok is taking over😮. Thanks for another "bangin'" video!

Please write books Jason!!! 😂😂
3:15 It vastly improves the scene if you imagine them as cavemen wielding comically oversized bone clubs
