      Baking soda is an awesome cleaner. We use it to clean our stainless steel pans if something is stuck on. Sprinkle some in the pan and rub with a damp dish rag. If something is really stuck on and doesn't come off with the baking soda we pour some vinegar in with the basking soda, swish it around and let it set for a few minutes. It also works to clean the bottoms of the pans/skillets and our stainless steel sinks. Vinegar and baking soda are our 2 cleaning supplies. They work wonderful and oh so cheap!!

      amy maryon it will really cut that ring that can get around the bathtub. Idk if dawn has chemicals or not. I am in the doTerra family and essential oil is so good for cleaning. A little lemon in fruit and veggie water to get off the pesticides is great too

    Love cleaning videos! For my stainless steel appliances I clean the same with vinegar but to get the shine back I pour a small amount if olive oil (grapeseed would work too or sunflower oil) on a soft cloth (lint free) and rub with the grain. Adding more oil as needed. It completely replaces the need for the store bought expensive stainless steel clean and shine product. An easy "scrubbing" alternative is just plain baking soda or make a paste with baking soda with either liquid castile soap or dish detergent. You could also substitute the baking soda with washing soda. Both work awesome! Thank you for the motivational video!

    I really like how your toilets come straight down to the floor. Our toilet is an older model and soooo much more effort to clean. When(ever) we remodel the toilet will be the FIRST changed out. Like the idea of cheaper, effective vinegar. I do still use bleach for toilet but saves me a lot of money for everything else. Thanks so much for posting.

    • @amymaryon
      @amymaryon  6 лет назад

      +Lee Daniels we have been replacing the toilets in this new home with the energy efficient ones and I really like them. In one of our bathrooms I don't think it gets flushed as much so usually twice a week when I clean I do a couple of squirts of spray bleach to keep it under control. It is only in the one bathroom, a high traffic one :). U do what u can for your needs :).

    You are so pretty but so real....like your stories tips for cleaning & cooking. Oh, and Tea Tree is good for warts! Also baking soda along with vinegar (which WILL foam & bubble so watch out) is a good 'gritty' cleaner. Epsom salts & lemon juice works too, for surfaces that don't require 'gentle' cleaner.

    This is my secret for cleaning the carpet. Safe and effective. Water, vinegar, any kind of dish soap. Spray bottle. It also cleans the floor. Fill bottle half way then add 1 tblsp. Dish soap, 1/2 cup vinegar fill with water to the top. Shake with the lid on. Counters, toilets, showers, great for mildew remover, spots on the floor. And carpet spots. Works !! Kill bugs too.
    Another I use is peppermint oil and water. All bugs die . I spray front porch , around base boards. Peppermint oil I buy at Dollar General. Vinegar great for whites instead of bleach.vinegar and baking soda in the drain kills bacteria. It bubbles up good for disposal too.
    I use comet too for sinks and tubs etc. When I'm not using my vinegar. I just don't like the harsh chemicals anymore. I used to use them and I would love my nose hairs.

    • @amymaryon
      @amymaryon  6 лет назад

      That is exactly what I use for my carpet cleaner :). I just add the essential oils for nice smells:). Thanks for adding all of these great ideas! You must be a cat lady, am I correct? A friend just recommended a great natural litter for them..equine horse bedding pellets. It is like $5 for a huge bag at tractor supply store. The poop just sits and you scoop out but the pee gets the pellets wet and they turn into sawdust...if you have one of those double strainer kitty boxes you can easily sift it out. I'll do a video soon. I thought it was a great idea. Smells better too.

    What a helpful video! Just wondered do your boys also help with the cleaning, or do they have other chores? X

    • @amymaryon
      @amymaryon  6 лет назад

      +Kate O'Grady yes they do. Right now my older boy does mostly "man" chores and I'm training my two younger boys to help gather the small trashcans, fill water bottles, clean up their rooms, but my older boy can clean a bathroom , sweep vacuum or help with dishes if needed. I just usually have enough helpers.
