This is the first EVER song they performed live together. Sammie Purcell was only 15 years old and Maggie Adams was only 16 years old when they did their first ever show (THIS one). Maggie and Sammie singing harmonies together has been absolute magic since the very beginning. They have 3 female vocalists now and the addition of Chase Truran 5 years after this show when Maggie left for college (she didn't leave for long) has made them even better. EVERYBODY in the band can sing.

Check out “Southern Cross”, where Darwin sings lead….one of my favorite all time CSN hits. My latest new RUclips favorite is Franz Rhythm, which is actually a Philippine family band. The 15 year old daughter (Char) is a fantastic singer. Latest is REM’s “Losing My Religion”, but also check out Char on 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up” and Cranberries’ “Dreams”. She is amazing.

The band's name is both fun and apt - apropos to the eclectic mixture of young and old, men and women.
The pattern I am seeing - with bands of this type of (cover song) natures is that you have older men who likely are the creative, guiding forces behind them - Leonid with his band of merry men and women lending their talents to the fulfillment of his intellectual mastery of the music and then - pulling out of them - performances that demand that they then,
"rise above and see beyond the limitations of the moment - and catch a glimpse of the calm and beautiful, sunlit seas of melody and emotions before them that, were always there waiting to beckon them to set sail upon them." (That's an Erik line incidentally; wrote the first stamping of it around 1995. But, decided to trot it out, dust it off for this occasion!)
They are the wise young people who realize that if they can find someone older they can truly trust - whose goal is to help, not hinder, not use and abuse them and then, leave them broke, busted and disgusted - drained of their joie de vivre - and the passion of youth - that they can - then - have the best of both worlds.
Specifically, they can feel free, unfettered to let go with all they got - knowing that they are being lead and surrounded by people who care about them
    - nay, likely love them - and so it's safe to" be all they can be" and shine the way God intends them to - and their friends (family) want to see them do.
or words something, sorta, kinda like that regarding the how it magic like this happens -and how the effect is affected! LOL

@@StrateleStudios I never felt re-inventing the wheel was a wise course of action! Today though, we living in the Western World are not doing much actual conscious mentoring of the young or perhaps it's because the young think themselves too smart to need to bother to defer to someone older?
This is why, of all the young men - in their 20s, 30s that I mentor - about 8 - only one is American. The rest hail from West Africa or Bangladesh or similar locales. And the one American - much to his good fortune - was raised on the "wrong side of the tracks" and came out of the projects in NYC - and missed out on most of the debilitating acculturation and brain washing that lucky boys and girls whose parents had money subjected them to, which leads to the silly crop of mostly useless young people we see ourselves afflicted by - who then go on to "get a good college education" that finishes them off - at the hands of the Marxist, nihilist "teachers" - indoctrinators.

They came up with the name a few minutes before performing this song! The girls were 15 at the time.

You must listen to, and review this. Lara Fabian, "Je suis malade" ! It is in French, with English subtitles. She is a much overlooked singer/song writer. People like Josh Groban and James Taylor sing some of the songs she's written. This is the worlds most beautiful voice, singing one of the most disturbing songs ever written. This has to be one of the most stunning performances, "ever" ! Please do not over look this. Hearing this woman for the first time, is an event you will mark down in your life. ruclips.net/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/видео.html
