Should always be horizontal. It's not hard to put the phone in horizontal position, wether recording OR viewing.

You’re the only person to show this dyslexic person what horizontal looks like 🙌🏻

The challenge for me is this.... IF I do only one video that I can apply to several platforms, which should I use. I do not want to make individual videos depending on what I upload to.... I am better as a one and done type guy. Any suggestions?

I just watched this video horizontally in full screen. Cause I am the one of those rare people who knows how to turn his phone in right moment. Upright formats are for lazy people... that's why they deserve to have content cropped and less rich.

Great video BUT you did not answer the question. Which one should I use. My plan is to post mostly to RUclips so if I heard you right that's horizontal. Also, are you saying it's not the best idea to use one format for both RUclips and say Instagram? Does that mean I need to shoot two videos for the same topic for each platform? Thanks so much!

As I understood the answer is: it depends where you'll be posting and where your possible targets may consume your videos. This are my recomendations: RUclips, TV: 16:9 // IG, FB, Snapchat, LinkedIn, TikTok: 9:16 but it could be 1:1, 4:5, 2:3 as she explains on the video. You can film on 16:9 format and still edit a 9:16 Video... or the other way around too. On all editing platforms you can costumise your pixel format. It's really easy.

Apparently instagram has removed the feature so you can't watch videos in landscape mode in full screen on your phone anymore! 🤬🤬🤬 So now I put Horizontal (landscape) videos in vertically mode so you can watch the videos in full screen by turning your phone... 🤣🤣🤣 I refuse to filming videos in vertically mode! So f*****g ridiculous!

Let’s use the correct terms which helps explain the needed orientation for the video “landscape = H “portrait = V”. If shooting an incident that captures the whole image best without moving a ton of times then go landscape not portrait (especially when uploading to a tv news channel” . Portrait my be fine for those social media platforms but then you may want to see on your home HD tv and most of the time it will be disappointing (especially those 1st baseball games your kids might play in).
