He's so right you guys. Whenever I have a breakfast with (smoked) fish and eggs and some vegetables I'm not hungry for many many hours, having no cravings. But as soon as I go on a high carb meal plan or restricting the whole day and wanting to eat just a tiny bit in the evening, I do relapse and I start binging. If you strictly following the rules you'll win. Easy said, difficult to do.
I have problems sleeping at night, its not that i keep myself up. Im up and down 4-5 times a night. When im up i do crave sweets and carbs. I usually just find some to eat.

Difficult step but usefull: I replaced the eating with a cup of tea (without sugar). Step by step a began with cutting all the sugar of my diet in 3 weeks. That helped a lot. Then I replaced the food with milk (or some other healthy drink), I still have problems with my love to food and the eating part, but I know the tea help me getting over it :D. At last it's all about habbits. In the moment a think of eating something, i listen to my appetite, and it will tell me enough :)

Eating enough fat and protein makes all the difference. Exercise after dinner for at least 20 min. Hot decaf herbal tea about an hour before bed with a little stevia. Sometimes iced with a tiny bit of heavy cream. Sleeping so good now. Lost about 4 lbs over the last 2 weeks. Also journaling, prayer and meditation to combat stress.

Not eating after dinner, going to bed no later than 10pm (before cravings kick in) and taking melatonin are the only things that have worked for me. I'll try fish oil and PGX though.
I am an equestrian. I ride everyday, I have 2 border collies and walk a ton everyday, so I am not short on the exercise. My problem is that I am a chronic insomniac. I can't take sleep aids as they actually work the opposite for me or I end up sleep walking. I get so desperate to sleep that I end up binging on anything I can that I think will make me sleep. I am desperate to get this under control. I take 2 flax oil pills every day, I am vegetarian. I do crave carbs at night. When I am binging, I am not talking after dinner per say. I am talking 1am-4am! PLEASE HELP!!! My doctor is clueless!!!
How is this going, my tdh nutritionist said to have protein after ecercise, eat more greens, avoid caffeine and naturally high mold food, high histamines and naturally occurring msg after 4pm. Also do good sleep hygiene like no electronic screens in evening and regular sleep times. If needed use melatonin, vitamin shop has a good one their own brand and control stress and meditate, try relaxing yoga. PRAYERS
Sounds like your not eating enough fat. Fat satiates you, makes you feel good and releases the dopamine etc. Vegetarianism is not what it's cracked up to be. Get some good fats, Avocado oil, flax oil butter if you do...Check out the Keto approach. Good luck.
my problem is during the day I eat really healthy foods as I am on a healthy lifestyle for weightloss and lost so much weight. breakfast for me is just a banana and green tea. lunch is just a salad of cucumber and lettuce only, and dinner is a bowl of vegetables only mixture of carrots, broccoli and cabbages. snacks for me is sometimes greek yoghurt or small handful of almond nuts. usually by late night at 12am I get really hungry and cant go to bed on empty stomach so I eat boiled egg and cucumber and lettuce which really fills me up but I end up feeling guilty afterwards having that feeling I'm going to put on weight because of late night eating. I'm thinking my issue is because I have a small breakfast of banana and I need to have a more filling breakfast like he said. I really do hate late night eating especially having the guilty feelings after. I'm going to follow his tips and hopefully it helps me to stop this habit.
Kimberley Fatima Ling Lettuce has no nutrition, the diet you explained has you basically eating water. You need more sustenance. Watch more vegan"what I ate in a day" videos to see how much variety you need to get all the nutrients. Not saying you need to be vegan, but you need more calorie dense foods.

I use to be hungry when I was eating and I ate very health smart and organic also. I eat normal all day. Don't crave sugar. I go to sleep and wake up every single night and crave something. Usually go for the peanut butter, cookies or any food in the fridge if the peanut butter is gone. Basically just binge eat whatever. I usually do this multiple times a night. Wow this sounds bad after I type it out. Anyone else have any luck with stopping this? I've tried all sorts of stuff. Eating more during the day, taking supplements, ect. Issey Miyake had this same problem and just recently controlled it. I wake up in the morning have 3 boiled eggs or a chicken breast for breakfast, with steamed vegetables. For a healthy fat, I just take a tablespoon of coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil. I take that table spoon as if it were medication. I only drink water. Eliminate any drink with sugars. Make sure to eat 3 times a day like that and the cravings will start to come down. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and eat cake , ice cream apple pie. Cookies peanut butter. Now an apple or two and I'm good. If you need me to clarify anything let me know. But it can be turned around. Not only can your appetite be controlled during the day . You'll be in control at night.

Well, if I don't get to eat something late at night I won't sleep. I eat healthy, I do not eat sugar but I will go now and drink my homemade kefir tonight :) I NEVER eat breakfast even if I don't eat at night. I can not stand eating when I am not hungry. So, in the morning I just drink warm lemon water 1 quart to flash all the crap out and than I begin making my healthy berry green smoothly an hour later. Next, isn't chia seed has to be expanded in liquid ? otherwise it will go strait into your # 2 same goes for flax seed. which must be grinned. Why do you think protein should be # 1 food in the morning ? We eat protein all day long since it's in everything. it Most people are missing vitamin D, B, Magnesium and potassium, NO ONE this days is protein deficient. Too much protein can be harmful too.I ferment my own kimchi, sauerkraut, and kefir and I do not think this would be as bad as sugar or carbs.

I wonder if these night time cravings have any association with Sundowner's Syndrome, a type of Alzheimer's in which symptoms of aggression and combativeness set in more so as the sun sets and at night time. My mother had Sundowner's Syndrome before she passed on. She had diabetes for years before that, affecting the main hormone you talked about, insulin. And she always had sugar cravings. So, could lifelong sugar cravings and/or sugar-insulin imbalances and night time binging be precursors of Sundowner's Syndrome? Wow, if so, night time bingers have something to be worried about.

I started drinking a large milk coffee instead of breakfast. I know he said to eat breakfast but it kicked started my day and made me want more food.

I often eat during the night too and it is always sweet stuff like chocolate.
When you crave sugar try eat sweet fruits like pineapple, watermelon, apples .....
If you need something with fat & carbs eat avocados, nut butter, on rice cakes & potatoes have good carbs
