If you have a legion go? Then you don't need the rog. The legion go is actually better. I think you can get the rog ally at best buy for 400 dollars now. Don't know how long the sale is going to last 4 though

Thank you man. Well, I heard the newer models don't have the sdcard issues, but I don't know how true it is. So if you bought a rog ally recently? You may not have this issues. As far as battery go's, it doesn't matter if you're sitting at a park or not. 45 mins to and 1 hr and a half is unacceptable for a handheld. I can spend 45 mins trying to get to find the next shrine in zelda. As far as any games go, the download time, the boot up time and the tutorial all combined will take up more than half your play time, leaving you with only a few minutes left of play time. People play games longer than an hour and a half
The samething happened with mine to and i had to RMA mine and they replaced the mother board and SD card slot but it's my fav handheld. im also hearing man that asus is coming with the ROG 2 this year man, so im going to grab that soon and also are you getting the MSI CLAW ? I just pre -ordered mine on Newegg the 799.00 1TB version. its coming out on the 15th.. The 512tb models are coming out on the 8th today.
No, sir! I will not be getting the MSI CLAW. I'm through with pc handhelds. I don't like them as much as the switch. I'm not a fan of them. They sound good on paper, but in reality, the execution is sloppy with too many issues. I'm looking forward to switch 2 instead
I just got my z1 extreme today and made sure i ordered it with the sd holder thing so i can use my sd with out using the sd slot 😅 this thing is amazing being able to play anygame from every platform is crazy

Are you sure they fix this because I have three ally that failed. They probably didn't repair your Asus. They probably change the fan speed on fan 1 before it hit 70c. After 70c. The sd card reader will fail
I have the rog Ally and it’s awesome the best handheld I my mind I a do have the steam deck as well and I actually find that handheld is great system but it is overhyped
Hell yeah that's weird!!! At least it works though. I was using a Samsung sdcard and it stopped working. It didn't fry my my card though. Just the internals stop working. So I send it back, got it fixed, and now it's working. Haven't touched my rog since last year though. I just hate the battery life on the rog, everything else is great about it. I love my switch above all though. It's my most played system. Can't wait for switch too. Thanks for watching.
@redcrimson1028 I just replaced the ssd in it and I have all the emulators and roms I want plus steam games , I bought a battery pack for it , I can play for a really long time!
@veganelduderino9392 you bought a battery bank you mean? I seen a guy do a battery mod, where he doubled up the battery, which gave the system a longer battery life. I think that was beyond dope. He also add an I eternal heating. He also has a permanent sdcard fix. There is a fire resistance sheet that u can buy, cut a tiny piece of it and past it on the internal sdcard reader so it doesn't overheat. I also have the legion go as well
@redcrimson1028 yeah , I bought a battery bank ! It last easily a good 5h or more on 25 watts, well that's cool for mods , it does become hot! Did you try Ryujinks on it ? Works pretty damn well !
if it has an 8 or a 9 at the start of the serial number you are good any lower then you will have the issue my first one destroyed my SD card and the reader after 2 weeks took it back and made sure i got revision 8 well not revision it's the montth of manufacture. Aughust 2023 onwards you are good. And i had it 7 months now and play AAA games off my 1 terabyte SD card no issues. It doesn't even get really hot like the first one did. It gets hot Obviously but not breakage levels of heat. Just like steamdeck. I have 2 of those as well. Good job Asus.finally lol I don't hardly use my decks now this things so good. But I have so many gaming devices and my PC. Meta Quest 3 is my latest toy lol
oh yeah it destroyed mine bro my SD card was screwed. good now though else I would not risk my 1 terabyte SD card in my replacement ROG ally that was fixed .

I hope u don't too. I think most, if not all has a faulty sdcard drive. It's a design flaw. U can always upgrade the ssd. That would be your best bet

put a good manual fancurve because otherwise this cardreader will break again if overheat !

My SanDisk sd card stopped working in mine , but if I try another sd card, it works! Bizarre shit.
