Glad I bought this pedal. Favorite Toneprint: John Petrucci's "Lunar Eclipse" with the feedback turned back. Makes chords sounds massive, deep, and emotional.
Your facial movements as you speak are legendary, I have noticed since I first started watching your videos a year a few months ago (about 6-7 months) I always look forward to your videos Colin, sick review btw, loving the review side of the channel
How are things looking on the non-review side of things? To be honest, I got interested in your channel because of your videos in guitar building, pedal modding an the like, and you've had a long streak of plain reviews. I think that your expertise in gear building and customization is the thing that sets your channel apart from the endless sea of gear related channels out there, so it'd be nice to see some more of that. It was a nice review though so I'm not complaining about that, the toneprint seems like a really handy feature.
Sounds cool. Certainly gives that phase 90 style, early Van Halen type tone that I really like. Like you I have the boss phase shifter, but it never really set a fire in my belly in terms of the sounds it gave so this may be something to consider. Plus the Tone print feature I think is just awesome. The idea of being able to get artist presets and customise your own pedal is something more manufacturers should consider in my opinion.
Hey Colin, love your vids man. I know Country music isn't really your forte but how well do you think this pedal would handle that slow swirling vintage sound you might find on a lot of 70s country, namely a lot of Waylon Jennings earlier recordings? It seems that the pedal to beat for that type of sound is the MXR Phase series, namely the Phase 95 with "script" settings and I wonder how this one compares because TC Electronics pedals are very fairly priced. Any info you could offer a fledgling novice classic country/rock guitarist would be great. Maybe there's a sub in it for ya. Thanks man.
Put the speed at 9 o'clock with your Phaser before yout dirt pedals to get an EVH-type sound. Granted, this setting is with the MXR Phase 90 in mind. Actually, I'm already dead set on getting the EVH Phase 90.
you said will it shred is on hold because your too busy, but building custom guitars is part of what your busy with isn't it , record some videos of that man I'd watch it
+Kurkku KGB I just looked it up, I've never heard of it before, now the ammonites make sense. I just assumed he liked them after making the fossil build.
Really awesome review/demo, Colin. Loved it. And your TonePrint was super awesome as well :) Keep up the great work!
'Neither of those settings are particularly setting my balls on fire.' Possibly the greatest line in a gear review ever.
In or out of the effect loop

Sounds great and I love the TonePrint feature. I have one of their bass amps with TonePrint and it's a really cool way to tweak the tone.

+Kurkku KGB Oh right, you did have the reslosound video and that was really interesting, I'm really looking forward to content like that :)

instantly felt the big box small stone shining through at the opening
Lmao, that chop suey intro cover ;) I really, REALLY love the idea of this Helix Phaser :) Great review man!
Cracking review! Brisk and informative. Thanks.

Love that EVH style phase sound. It's really good on rhythm and lead passages and just sounds great all round.
the best phaser I've ever used
That Tone and Sound you played I would say is the exact same as one of the Maiden tracks .. Burning Ambition ...
Hi the iron maiden burning ambition sounds appears in what time of the video? Thanks
Hi. What distortion pedal are you using with the Phaser? Thanks.
"Black Magic, Occult Wizardry" -Collin
+CSGuitars When you review pedals, you should use that pedal in your opening.
....will it shred :(
yes...i understand he is busy...but ...its been like....a long time
you said will it shred is on hold because your too busy, but building custom guitars is part of what your busy with isn't it , record some videos of that man I'd watch it
What are those little nautilus shaped things on the pedal? Are those picks?
SuperExio Hi! Those are fossilized ammonites, I own several from flea markets.
But does it... djazz?
Where abouts in Scotland r u based??
Beautiful ammonites! When I'm wealthy, I'll encrust a custom guitar with them lol
phone to pickup to pedal. we have become too aware.
You must really like ammonites, they're everywhere.
+MassHysteria414 What's not to love about ammonites?
+MassHysteria414 Are people missing the "praise helix" reference?
+Kurkku KGB I just looked it up, I've never heard of it before, now the ammonites make sense. I just assumed he liked them after making the fossil build.
+MassHysteria414 Yeah, it's no like I'm sure myself if it is a reference, but since the pedal is called "helix" I immediately thought of it :D
Why the fuck is will it shred 5 not out yet
1:22 What the fuck is he saying? I seriously can't interpret it.
"I know where you live Chris Graham"
Such a strong accent
Yeah it's great isn't it lmao.
i heard him say crissaegrim, must suck that a sword from castlevania stole your pedal
hahahaha
Patronising reviewer, playing examples poor - didn't learn anything. I will look elsewhere to assess it ........
