TC Electronic Yes it was. I was taken aback. That is the most musical phaser I have ever heard, and I have been through them all, currently using the MXR Van Halen version, and I just cannot go back now that I have heard this. Maybe being in stereo is what made it "pop" so much, or Brett's magic hands, but it is wonderful. Right now the only TC Electronic pedal I have is the Flashback delay, which is the best delay on the planet. I wonder if these are in the stores yet?
+TC Electronic It was smart of you guys to add a mix knob. I've always hated that the phase 90 and similar pedals had no control over how subtle the effect was.
Beautiful sounds Brett. I'm pretty much an analog snob, but this is a great sounding and versatile pedal. Lots of clarity without sacrificing a great phaser sound.
Best demo I've heard of this great pedal, gonna have to go and get one now. Burgs you're such an inspirational player... Please do the Viscous Vibe if you haven't already!
Brett Kingman Your welcome Sir . Would you mind sharing a opinion / knowledge of jazzmaster pick ups with me. I know you did many pick up swaps last year .I am aware the noise issues with JM pick ups . My Idea when I install my SD antquitys is : Purchase a Electro Harmonix hum debugger $120 American - Its geared toward pick ups not pedal board noise. Also use the shielding tape or a plate that goes under my gold anodized pickguard. Have you tried either of these methods when you were experimenting. My pick ups are only reverse wound fir the quite middle position. Thank you JB ps, this guitar' is being built so I'm not to that stage yet my neck is ordered + my body. Thanks again..
Great playing as always. I am going to replace my Boss BF3 flanger with the helix. Now my setup is in stereo the BF3 gives an unwanted volume boost when I switch it on. This demo sounds excellent through my headphones.
Hey Brett, nice demo! Question: does the Helix actually spread both outputs by 180° to make the effect threedimensional? I run stereo, and if it does it, I will use it to replace my beloved Small Stone which of course is mono. Thanks in advance!
upload via the pickup? what an idea! you can see so many little niceties in the construction of these pedals. inside and out. they are really switched on.
Can it do infinite (barber-pole) phasing or step phasing like the Boss one? Otherwise I wouldn't call it the most versatile phaser. (Although the Boss one has crappy overall tone IMO so I guess it doesn't matter.)
it would be nice to have a couple of jacks that could be assigned to pots for foot control of like speed and depth or speed and wet dry. good demo! i would love to hear it on a keyboard setup like the new solina.
The most interesting thing to me in this demo is actually the point where it changes from the clean signal to the effected one in the beginning. One thing is whether or not you like the effect itself. Another is what the pedal basically does to your direct signal. Depending on what the pedal is to be used for, that almost matters to me more than the effect itself. There is a certain thing that TC-pedals of this series does that I am not too keen on (and I do own a couple). I would probably feel better having them in an effects loop. But I dont have a loop on my main amp. Oh well. I suppose they can go in my looper and not bother me when they are not used. I really like the sound of this pedal actually - effects-wise.
Out of the Box, I still don't like it as much as my MXR EVH Phaser, not quite as thick or chewy, maybe more Hi-Fidelity. Looking forward to trying some tone-prints.
This may be a little off topic but what camera do you use and how do you hook up your microphones to the camera to get good sound quality? I've been really searching for better ways to make better quality guitar videos rather than using a tablet or phone. If it helps stay on topic a little, I have the Helix Phaser and it sounds amazing. I use it in stereo and I use my own custom made phasers with the tone print editor.
A good question, which I thank you for. All your answers are right here: facebook.com/notes/brett-kingman/so-you-want-to-be-a-youtube-demo-person-eh/10151506225686102/
all phasers PALE and I mean pale in a BIG way compared to the depth and complexity of swirl of the original Maestro. Too bad no one has reversed engineered that monster into a modern chassis. Cue 3:00 in this video to see what I'm talking about: ruclips.net/video/7kpkbT2bbb8/видео.html
+froo baloo The 90's a little too resonant for me. I like having the ability to adjust that. While this Helix sounds good, I wish it had a longer sweep.
froo baloo It depends on ones taste...the phase 90 is great but it doesn't get vocal or chewy, like any 6 or 8 stage phaser would be. As far as 4 stage phasers go, I'm of the opinion that they HAVE to have some sort of control over the resonance of the sweep. They have to be able to do more than just the slow EVH swooshes. I like my phaser to "talk".
You're totally right .One knob but what a sound ,ha?Imlike the idea of many knives and the ability to sculpt your sound ,but for me personally when it comes to phaser and flanger I go with MXR namely Phase 90 and Micro Flanger
Ridiculous opinion. The phase 90 is a great phaser pedal, but all you need? It's too strong for me and I need a mix control. I want a little on my solos without it suddenly being "a phase 90 solo"
Amazing Helix Phaser demo!

Brütal Löve You guys are too kind, thanks. I'm just the lucky messenger, though. Great pedal. Cheers, B.
Brütal Löve glad you liked the demo, man. ***** is the best :) To answer your question, yes Helix Phaser is in the shops now.
+TC Electronic It was smart of you guys to add a mix knob. I've always hated that the phase 90 and similar pedals had no control over how subtle the effect was.
Tom Park thanks, man :)
Beautiful sounds Brett. I'm pretty much an analog snob, but this is a great sounding and versatile pedal. Lots of clarity without sacrificing a great phaser sound.
Good demo, Brett. Clean tones, no waffle.
I own & use a Helix on an electro-acoustic. Despite its versatility I only use the Vintage mode.
Best demo I've heard of this great pedal, gonna have to go and get one now. Burgs you're such an inspirational player... Please do the Viscous Vibe if you haven't already!
You have some of the best u tube demos that I've seen, thank you from East coast USA.
Thanks, Jeffrey. I'm really flattered. Thanks for your support and positive vibes. :)

Never much cared for Phasers until now Brett. WhyDja have to go & do that? Thanks a lot!
You always mic up so well...but this really was fantastic. Love the pedal.
Great playing as always. I am going to replace my Boss BF3 flanger with the helix. Now my setup is in stereo the BF3 gives an unwanted volume boost when I switch it on. This demo sounds excellent through my headphones.
Bought one last night! Bang up review! 🍻 Cheers!
Sold! you done it again Brett 👏
Great demo of this pedal, helped no doubt by those lovely JTM45s. Thanks.
Al
Dropped my favorite Deep Purple riff in there. Cheers, Brett!
You put on a trippy shirt to match the phaser? Quite heavy moiré there.
Great pedal!

A good demo! Thank you! I'm curious about this at you answered my questions.
Vintage sounds like a 4-stage, Smooth sounds like an 8-10 stage phase
upload via the pickup? what an idea! you can see so many little niceties in the construction of these pedals. inside and out. they are really switched on.
Nice tones, thanks for the demo.
This+electric piano = sexy times
Yeah but most good synths/keyboard have very good phase/flanger,wah,tremolo build in effects so you can basically use them
I'm talkin' about vintage gear
Great Demo, great Phaser - Gilmourish?
Liked the earthquake at 6:53. Well done!
I can't decide between this and the Viscous Vibe. I'm pretty impressed by that Tomkat Bender!
Man, this phaser sounds awesome!! Gotsta get me one. I have the flashback...& their overdrive (brown). Great gear!
Can it do infinite (barber-pole) phasing or step phasing like the Boss one? Otherwise I wouldn't call it the most versatile phaser. (Although the Boss one has crappy overall tone IMO so I guess it doesn't matter.)
what was the song you were playing at the end? and what was the last chord. the resolve sounded so good
the last two chords are a B5 > Esus4
+cody thompson Listen To The Music by the Doobie Brothers..
it would be nice to have a couple of jacks that could be assigned to pots for foot control of like speed and depth or speed and wet dry. good demo!
i would love to hear it on a keyboard setup like the new solina.
Hey Brett, which one do you like better - this one or Earthquaker's Grand Orbiter?
Love your channel Brett! Thanks for what you do for us! Do you happen to remember what tone print that you used in the intro?

Nice demonstration!
Just snagged one used at Rich Tone music UK for £55 delivered! That is very cheap. Victor :D
cool helicopter - Star Trek phaser ending. I might use that.
Sounds real nice :)

What´s the name of the first song?? It sounds great.
Distorcion y phaser stereo fantastico..
This Phaser Can Work with Electromechanical and digital Pianos ?
Awesome
Is analog?

almost makes the guitar sound like a rhodes sometimes

that pedal is a 10
What song did you play at 4:18?
"Let It Loose" by The Rolling Stones.
I honestly don't see the point in this many controls, the phase 90 is really all I think you'd need for a great phaser pedal
+froo baloo The 90's a little too resonant for me. I like having the ability to adjust that. While this Helix sounds good, I wish it had a longer sweep.
@froo baloo i wanted to think so too but no. the phase 90 is too strong for me. i need a mix knob
