the piston gearshift knob from Milner's coupe (American Graffiti)..... didn't know they were off the shelf made...
Hope we get to see a mini-backstory on the returning VW, even if it's just a two minute add-on to a regular Iron Trap video.
We plan to talk about it in a future podcast and show it in a week in the life video
Thank you Matt and Mike for sharing with me your parts haul from the swap meets !
❤❤❤❤❤ I like the GM truck tack that's killer. I hope Mike works on his car soon😊😊😊😊😊
Mike you remind me of an old friend of 45 years or so, an antique auto guy at "Dons Antique Auto" in Niles Ca. who had a memory on cars that was un-beleivable. Could 'a crashed a PC with his knowledge. I sure miss just stopping by just to say Hi once in while. I thoroughly enjoy the work you three do on this You Tube Chanel. I grew up around cars, you know, my dad had body shop and a brother who had cars in the local car shows. Got 40 ford my self, early hot rodded, flat head, chopped top, flames nothing too fancy. Oh, Matt that shop you've built is something really special and the envy of everyone who watches your station, I'm sure. I get kick out'a Moon sniffing up a new in-coming trailer. One more thing, be careful with your backs.
Banjo steering wheels 👍
Great episode guys. 40 minutes of talking about things of which I know little or nothing, but loved it.
Obviously we know Matt's background, and we know Mike knows his stuff, but he is approaching 'nerd' level on some things. (Complement)
How come Mike knows so much, pod cast please,
Love as Always, Reading, England.
They’ve done the podcast with him already but I would assume his massive knowledge of parts identification has come from
Having to go through the big hauls and do the research to figure out what each piece is so he can put it on the site for sale. Been a few years and a LOT of parts. That’s my guess
@@timmmckenny1806 Missed it somehow, will look back. Thanks.
I used to be a counterman at a television parts store (back in the olden days when TVs were repaired!) and a skill certain people have is being able to hold parts information in their heads - it was that way for me, and I've always felt a kinship with Mike, knowing he has that gift as well. I think it has to do with the way we organize our memories - from general categories to more specific differences. Matt is good at that as well, and we see another gift at work as he fabricates - his ability to go through his mental "parts catalog" of a wide range of things and pick shapes, materials and manufacturing methods that could contribute to his solutions. That's what I find so stimulating about this crew of Matt, Mike and Steve - gifted men working as a team to solve challenges.
Reminds me of the swap meets in England that I used to attend. We called them autojumbles, it waa great fun tracking down 1960s Triumph car parts in the 80s and 90s, sometimes for our own cars, sometimes for onward sale. It was always a real sense of achievement when we found something good. My favourites were the sales near Coventry where the cars were built and old factory employees were clearing out their secret stash!
green with envy
That Milner gearshift knob is boss ! With the box bosser !
WOW, hard to find Ford parts! Welcome to my world, 1935 Studebaker Commander.
long time fan
Great scores! That Quick Change is awesome! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
The neat things about you two is that you really enjoy your business. God Bless....
Dude!!! Great video!!! Swap meets are the best way to get hard up for the hot rod season!!!✌️
I share your excitement for the distributor caps 👍
Had a good show myself. Bin full of good condition & NOS 49’ Lincoln dash parts. First I’ve ever found anything for my cars there!
Fantastic to see the delorean roadster! Missed a few videos there I guess.
We didn’t talk about it much. It got stuck at an upholstery shop all last year and we had to pull it from the shop. Just getting to drive it now.
@@IronTrapGarage be excited for a visual tour. Been fascinated by that car since you guys pulled out of that old tyre shop. Love to hear the tale!
Thank You for head up.
Good to know you sold some/a lot of stuff.
Shhwweeett little pick
Great Video!!
The Wayne intake for a stove bolt is awesome............
Halibrand center section, quintessential early hot rod treasure!
Halibrand 101 QC rears were actively raced into the 1970s. Internals from a Jones QC fit in them too. Plenty of parts and gears floating around.
Nice haul!
@07:50 You don’t really junk a ’41 Ford dashboard if it has filler. So easy to fix and use in an older Hot Rod.
Damn son, save some for the rest of us 😂
hey Matt I'ma great grampa bout 7;8 times getn my fill in there
You guys kill it on the parts and such but if I were you I'd have a shelf of good runners ng flat heads among others just waiting for the right project let the bits and pieces pay the bills
a funny for matt, just today i got a form to fill out as i have been nominated to the BMX hall of fame. i sent mike a photo of my 60 bug i'll bet he didnt share. i raced a bug in SCCA but bought a LUK clutch challenge 74 rabbit and raced it in the 80's . my tow vehicle was a bad ass rabbit truck.
Had 3 of those vw rabbit trucks an 3 rabbit cars
Most definitely the fuel filter
👌🏼⛽️
hey guys
the people want to see some vdub content, how about a walkaround of the new/old rabbit
Nice Video.

My dads first car was a 33 3 window. He and his brother bought it for $50 in 1951
Where are the 38 Ford rear fenders listed, couldn’t find them on your website. How much $.
Thanks

Have you guys got any Miller carbs you'd wanna sell?
Don’t own any sadly
I'm partial to the WAYNE manifold !
2005 a neighbors spring Fri and Sat yard sale, grandson had worked at York VW. Always drove a Thing. Had stored dozens of doors and 10s of fenders. Bad blood with son, put them in Monday's trash pickup!
@@IronTrapGarage I'd love to find a Mickey THompson HEMI head for the Pontiac 389 / 421.. I bet they made even LESS of those than the Wayne head! Mickey believed that the Pontiac engine actually had a superior bottom end to the Chrysler engine even, a Tempest with a 421 beat the works Ferrari's at Daytona in 1963! People believe the Corvette C5 was the first to have a torque tube with a rear mounted transaxle, actually the tempest did back in 61!

Must be nice to have unlimited capital. 'm I jealous or what?
